    Case Manager

    Job Summary:

    • To plan, coordinate and execute case management work at hospital level. The incumbent utilises clinical knowledge to minimise financial risk and ensure accurate billing through comprehensive accurate coding of patient care.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Nursing Diploma
    • Registered Nurse
    • ICD Code & CPT Coding knowledge
    • 3-5 years’ experience as a hospital case manager

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Liaise with Receptionist for authorizations.
    • Ensure compliance to case management procedures, standards and protocols.
    • Plan, coordinate and execute Clinical coding in accordance with relevant CHG standards and protocols.
    • Ensure accurate, appropriate and complete diagnostic and procedural coding of all patient records in the hospital.
    • Timeously and consistently communicate and follow up with Funders (Medical Aids, COID, Government, RAF, DOL, etc.)
    • Provide appropriate clinical information to Funders in order to update Length of Stay, Level of Care, formulary utilization, assistive devices / Prosthesis, diagnostic interventions, therapy intervention and procedural interventions and required change in the facility.
    • Consult daily with all relevant health care providers with regards to patient treatment
    • Ensure the maintenance of patients’ clinical status (subsequent interventions and treatments) in accordance to Funder requirements for the duration of hospitalization
    • Ensure the correct categorization and management of different patient accounts to facilitate reimbursement by Funders.
    • Ensure accurate and timeous finalization of cases to facilitate reimbursement by Funders.
    • Minimize financial risk by the effective management of patient hospitalization.
    • Follow the established and approved escalation processes in the event of a decline of payment by Funders.
    • Ensure to remain in the group and facility targets of 3 days for WIP (work in progress) and DNYB (discharged not yet billed).

    Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary Paediatric

    Job Summary:

    • The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary will promote and deliver quality patient care and wellness in accordance with industry standards and to execute Nursing duties within the standards, procedures and protocols set down by the South African Nursing Council and Scope of Practice.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • Grade 12

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Perform nursing duties in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core standards.
    • Adhere to the principles and standards of patient advocacy according to the SANC Acts and Omissions, Company Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, National Millennium Development goals and the responsibility of continuous professional development (CPD).

    Maintenance Assistant

    Job Summary:

    • The incumbent will provide day to day maintenance functions to the facility including plant, machinery and equipment. He/she will ensure the continuity of operations in accordance with the applicable company standards and other related legal requirements and best practices.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
    • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in hospital/healthcare.
    • Proven knowledge of air conditioning, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, nurse call systems and medical gases and fire system preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of local building legislations (codes) and other related requirements will be advantageous.
    • Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Attend to daily job cards as obtained from both internal and external customers and incoming emergency calls.
    • Attend to planned (preventive) maintenance on plant and equipment: daily, weekly and monthly checks for proper functioning and safety and assist with corrective maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
    • Faultfinding and basic maintenance on electrical system, plumbing infrastructure, refrigeration / air conditioning and general building maintenance.
    • Assist with electrical installation, plumbing installation and air-conditioning installation.
    • Management, monitoring and control of medical gases back-up cylinder system and safe handling of chemical substances.
    • Initiate and closed out job cards for deviations issues identified during daily, weekly and monthly checks.
    • Initiate jobs and close out cards for emergency work as a result of emergency call outs.
    • Ability to attend to after hour’s emergency and be on standby when required.
    • Ability to manage external contractors and provide instructions on work requirement.
    • Ability to identify and escalate possible risks that will require intervention of the technical specialist.
    • Ability to adhere and comply with company policies and procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
    • Ability to establish and maintain relevant stakeholder relationships (nursing staff, patients and doctors) and meet their expectations.

    Pharmacy Stock Controller

    Job Summary:

    • The Stock controller will accept full responsibility and accountability for the control of stock, including but not limited to, auditing, counting, reconciling, replenishing, ordering, issuing, and condemning.
    • The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the collective efforts between relevant departments in order to maximize proper stock control and limit mismanagement of stock.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Grade 12
    • Basic Pharmacist Assistant Certificate
    • Knowledge and experience of a pharmaceutical stock control system, consignment stock, theatre stock
    • 2-4 years’ experience in stock control, preferably in a hospital environment.
    • Computer proficiency – SAP or similar.
    • Administrative support in a hospital environment would be advantageous

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Assist the theatre with maintaining optimal stock levels and stock availability by compiling of order according to minimum and maximum stock level.
    • Perform cyclic stock counts to minimize stock loss and to ensure rotation of stock.
    • Take responsibility for barcoding and packing of surgical items.
    • Pick and capture stock to be issued to theatre and wards / units and capture stock transfers from other hospitals.
    • Sign off credit slips after being reconciled by the Data Capture and capture invoices during the Data capturer’s absence.
    • Adhere to the principles of Lean management (i.e. reducing wastage and unnecessary expenditure) without compromising patient care whilst ensuring minimal wastage.
    • Participate as a team member and contribute effectively towards achievement of unit goals.

    Unit Manager Surgical ICU

    Ward Clerk

    Job Summary:

    • To provide administrative support to the Unit Manager (and the Nursing team) of an allocated unit thereby contributing to the overall success of the unit and meeting both internal and external customer expectations.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum Requirements:

    • NQF 5 / Relevant Nursing Qualification.
    • Computer literacy.
    • SAP experience.
    • Stock Control.
    • ICD 10 Code and CPT coding ability.

    Minimum Experience:

    • 2 years administration experience.

    Added Advantage:

    • Healthcare professional qualification.
    • Finance-related qualification.

    DELIVERABLES:

    • Maintain the patient register (Patient list and white board) to ensure it is up-to-date and accurate by documenting admissions and discharges to the unit – this involves reconciling the white board with the SAP system every 2 to 4 hours.
    • Establish and maintain an accurate filing system of all relevant documentation (patients’ documents, minutes and audit documents, for example).
    • Print new checklists at the beginning of each month for fridges, emergency blood, emergency trolley and environmental purposes.
    • Order stationery (bulk) on allocated days and inform Unit Manager when there is a problem with the availability of stationery.
    • Perform any reasonable administration task on instruction from the Unit Manager.
    • Compare number of patients in allocated unit with Occupancy list and make necessary adjustments (e.g. bed movements, transfer of patients to another unit and discharge of patients) on the approved system.
    • Capture all materials (surgical and ethical consumables) from charge sheets / mobile billing.
    • Coding of Accident and Emergency patient files.
    • Capture all services i.e. gases (oxygen) and equipment from all charge sheets on the approved system.
    • Assist in conducting cycle counts for the ward and manage stock credits to the Pharmacy.
    • Ensuring adequate stock levels in ward.
    • Ensure suitable arrangements are made in terms of patient transfers.
    • Ensure that all patients are discharged on the system and compile files with complete patient details.
