    Quality & Regulatory Assurance Lead: Africa

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Driving the delivery of QRA processes in Africa aligned to the strategic business agenda.
    • Management and measurement of Service Quality Initiatives – monitoring the Service Quality KPIs, investigation and root cause analysis & support operations with correcting actions to ensure high service quality. 
    • Support OMS FC Implementation:  Training and Coaching on Work Instructions and SOPs and other Elements aligned to site implementation resources and OMS FC Advisors.
    • Start Up project support: Ensure that sites operate to DSC Quality Standards, plus regulatory & customer requirements, aligned with Operations and Project Managers.
    • Conduct Site Audit process: Using QPA/Gemba techniques integrated to OMS FC Standards Confirmation if applicable.
    • Delivery of Site Training: Online, calls, courses and coaching delivery on critical QRA skills and requirements. Quality related training (Root cause analysis, problem solving, etc.).
    • Review of Self-Assessment & CAPA Management: Provide feedback and focussed support to Operations.
    • External/Customer audit support & liaison: Selective support for audit preparation & response (directed by Africa OE Lead).
    • Service Quality Metrics Monitoring trends, Conduct Investigations & develop actions and countermeasures.
    • Guide Regulatory & Licensing Activity, including Customer and Trade Compliance: Support and advice for Site Operations in compliance areas.
    • Ensure the Quality of the operating process and the certifications required legally, by clients or at the corporate level.
    • Responsible for the development, management and maintenance of all elements of the Quality Management System (QMS).
    • Support EMEA Leadership in QRA support.

    • Supply input, review and support solutions for new and existing systems linked to QRA systems.
    • Team leadership and development: Coaching support for Quality Champions, Site Management and country/sector leadership teams.
    • Training & Development:  Understands and coach others on processes, tools and standards.
    • Ensures training requirements are met.
    • Identify and address skill gaps.
    • Communication & Engagement:  Communicates site, company, and other pertinent information to team.
    • Shares customer and DHL Supply Chain information accordingly.
    • Strong stakeholder management.
    • Guide people in the change process from actual operative procedures to the new procedures.
    • Ability to work effectively across the business to influence and achieve targets.
    • Drive new business through the QA function and working with clients.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Matric.
    • Recognized science degree such as Pharmacology, chemistry and/or biology LSHC qualification e.g. have been an RP or a QP Certified Quality Auditor.
    • Project / program management certification or relevant experience.
    • Operational experience of the Supply Chain, LSHC, Pharmacy or similar process industry (e.g. Manufacturing, activity involving shopfloor labour processes.
    • Extensive knowledge of LSHC requirements, current GxP and regulatory requirements applicable in the industry
    • At least 7 - 10 years of management/supervisory responsibility and professional experience in logistics industry
    • Experience in leading non-specialists in technical and regulatory applications.
    • Credible with Operations staff in Gemba and Coaching activity.
    • Experience and working knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and methodology.
    • Experience conducting/leading successful acquisition of certifications and accreditations (e.g. ISO) of a relatively large and complex organization and subsequent management of a quality system.
    • Extensive knowledge of LSHC requirements, current GxP and regulatory requirements applicable in the industry and Implementation experience of GMP, GDP, ISO 9001 and 13485 requirements
    • Functional expertise in other areas such as project work, development, change management etc. is preferred, with exposure to working on large, complex projects or operations.
    • Quality Role expertise in gaining/maintaining pharmaceutical and medical device licenses.
    • Ability to manage own and outsourced work in an organized and methodical way, maintaining accurate records and reporting progress.
    • Detailed knowledge of logistics processes (warehousing and transportation), especially LSHC and manufacturing operations.
    • Knowledge in DHL strategic quality products (e.g. Etq, ICS).
    • In depth understanding of FC processes and LEAN approaches.
    • Experience of working in and with multiple operations.
    • Effective management in a diverse geographic and multi-cultural environment.

    Lead: GRA

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Managing the entire cycle of returned goods, from initial receipt to final disposition (resale, refurbishment, or disposal). 
    • Implementing and maintaining procedures to accurately record returned items, minimize errors, and optimize the flow of goods
    • Maintaining accurate inventory records of returned items, ensuring they are properly stored and tracked within the warehouse or designated area
    • Inspecting returned goods for damage, defects, or non-compliance with company standards, and coordinating with relevant teams for appropriate action.
    • Supervising and training staff involved in the returns process, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures.
    • Generating reports on returns data, identifying trends, and contributing to process improvement initiatives. 
    • Working closely with other departments, such as sales, customer service, and logistics, to resolve issues and optimize the returns process.
    • Ensuring all returns processes adhere to relevant regulations and company safety standards. 
    • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements
    • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
    • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
    • Structured feedback and updates related to Day to Day returns and escalations internally and to client
    • Conform and promote awareness to staff on ISO 9001, ISO 22716, ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements associated with the QMS.

    Qualifications

    • Matric
    • B. Comm Degree / Diploma in Transport Management / Logistics / Warehouse
    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ post qualification in a similar role as a Manager
    • Proficient on all MS Office packages
    • Strong managerial and leadership skills

    OMS Champion

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Drive the implementation of the 4 OMS principles and 12 OMS elements and maintain the OMS
    • Engage site leaders in OMS by training them on OMS Foundation with OMS Advisor
    • Focal point of OMS Advisor at site for coaching site team and addressing the implementation
    • Regular reviews OMS implementation with OMS Advisor and site manager, escalating any issues or challenges
    • Ensure alignment of site leadership team and clear understanding of OMS as operating system
    • Drive OMS standardization at the site and contribute with new ideas / opportunities for OMS Advisor
    • Support the Site Management Team to establish and maintain an Organization that Delivers
    • Maintain the identified KPI tree - ensure changes are resulting in an updated KPI tree
    • Support the development and maintenance of the Management Review Process and ensure the reporting input for the MRP
    • Ensure targets are properly set for Objectives & KPIs - support the maintenance

    • Support the development and maintenance of Work Instructions & ensure a good alignment with SHQ
    • Develop the Excellence School in all 4 dimensions following defined standards and defined training - infrastructure / trainer team /  training content / training program
    • Train (and retrain) the site leaders and multipliers in their role in the Excellence School and "how to instruct" 
    • Train, coach and follow up the site leaders in the applicable format for performance reviews for teams and individuals
    • Train and coach site leaders for conducting Gemba: Standards Confirmation for both Process Confirmation and OMS Confirmation    
    • Ensure Job Standardization routines are in place and understand deviations

    • Manage continuous improvement opportunities for Kaizen and Kaikaku, addressing necessary actions

    Skills/Experience

    • Experience working within supply chain operations is essential for this role
    • Experience in a manufacturing/operational environment is needed

    Lead: Inventory

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Ensure accurate control of inventory up to and beyond the KPI levels expected by the customer and DHL
    • Plan and manage all stock counts and audits of inventory
    • Develop & maintain effective inventory process, incorporating warehouse management systems
    • Produce accurate stock Key Performance Indicator reports, analyze and recommend changes to Standard Operating Procedures to enhance accuracy and operational effectiveness
    • Put in place procedures to monitor and minimize stock losses
