    Analyst AML/CFT Supervision Department (Pretoria)

    Purpose of the Job:

    • To supervise and/or enforce compliance with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 (FIC Act), by the Financial Institutions regulated by the FSCA. The persons appointed to this position will report to the Manager: AML/CFT Supervision Department.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Monitor compliance with the FIC Act by the financial institutions regulated by the FSCA;
    • Enforce non-compliance by financial institutions where contraventions of the FIC Act have been identified;
    • Identify and report trends in the financial services sector with possible impact on the FSCA’s ability to discharge its duties as a Supervisory Body;
    • Conduct on-site and/or offsite inspections and other supervisory activities in terms of the FIC Act;
    • Assist with investigations of FIC Act related enquiries/complaints relating to financial institutions;
    • Actively participate in and contribute to industry and FSCA committees as and when required;
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in respect of regulatory and supervisory matters; and
    • Perform administrative or other supervisory activities relating to the regulatory framework.

    Other Key Competencies:

    • The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Problem analysis and solving, judgement, oral and written communication, information gathering; good interpersonal skills; the ability to work in a team; emotional intelligence; customer relations; persuasiveness skills and good computer skills.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelors’ Degree (NQF 7) in Accounting, Audit, Law, Risk Management, or other relevant discipline with at least 2 years working experience within the financial services industry. Working experience in the collective investment, crypto asset or financial markets sectors will be an added advantage. A good understanding of the FIC Act is essential. Excellent report writing skills are essential.

    Junior Analyst – Complaints And Queries Resolution Business Centre Department (Pretoria)

    Purpose of the Job:

    • To assist the department in handling complaints and queries from multiple sources, redirect complaints to external stakeholders, regulatory authorities and internal FSCA divisions in accordance with relevant protocols and management of the debarment register. The person appointed to this position will report to the Manager.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Assess complaints and queries received by the Department;
    • Refer matters that do not fall within the scope of the FSCA to external stakeholders;
    • Refer matters that fall within the scope of the FSCA to relevant internal stakeholders;
    • Engage with internal and external stakeholders with regards to the activities of the Department;
    • Engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the closure of various matters;
    • Assist with the outreach projects; and
    • Attend to administrative responsibilities of the Department as directed by the management team

    Other Key Competencies:

    • The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: A high level of judgement and aconfident and decisive approach; problem analysis, information gathering, communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, customer relations and persuasiveness skills.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Commerce or any other relevant qualification with 0 to 1 year of experience. A good understanding of the overall mandate of the FSCA and the various financial sector laws is required.

    Secretary Consumer Education Department (Pretoria)

    Purpose of the Job:

    • To provide professional secretarial and administrative support to the Departmental Head of the Consumer Education Department (CED).

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Provide secretarial support to the Departmental Head;
    • Manage and co-ordinate the electronic diary of the Departmental Head and provide a hard copy with all relevant documentation on a weekly basis or when required;
    • Arrange local and international travel, accommodation, foreign exchange, subsistence, advances and reconciliation after the travel, for the Departmental Head and CED staff;
    • Maintain an electronic filing system for the Departmental Head’s documents and ensure that documents relevant to the department is filed in the central filing system;
    • Manage all incoming and outgoing correspondence, digital and hard copy, and screen telephone calls;
    • Plan and arrange departmental meetings and take minutes of the departmental meetings as well as other meetings as per Departmental Head’s instruction;
    • Assist the Departmental Head with management of budget, this will include but is not limited to items such as stationary, telephone, catering and other cost of the department;
    • Assist with the drafting and quality assurance of documents and slides for presentations;
    • Attend to administrative and client enquiries, as well as general administrative support;
    • Keep the departmental shared hard drive updated and relevant to the department’s activities; and
    • Raise all cases for procurement in the CED and keep an updated electronic record of all the relevant documents up to the purchase order.
    • Manage the outgoing of equipment and promotional items;
    • Dealing with stakeholders and other departments within the Division;
    • Managing follow-ups with tasks, deadlines and submissions;
    • Any other official responsibilities delegated by the Department Head; and
    • Plan and arrange departmental events and functions. 

    Other Key Competencies:

    • The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Good interpersonal skills, office administration and communication (both verbal and written) skills; highly reliable,  disciplined and trustworthy; ability to organise and liaise well with people at all levels; be friendly and display professional demeanor, excellent computer skills; competent typing skills; ability to function under pressure and monitor projects as assigned

    Requirements

    • A Matric Certificate plus a relevant secretarial qualification with at least 2 to 3 years’ relevant working experience in the financial services sector. The candidate must have advanced MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint). The ability to handle more than one task at a time is essential.

    Receptionist / Switchboard Operator Facilities, Administration And Security Department (Pretoria)

    Purpose of the Job:

    • To act as a front-line person and render professional administrative support to the Financial Sector Conduct Authority’s reception area.  The person appointed will report to the Manager: Facilities

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Customer centricity (customer service for good customer experience),
    • Receive visitors and contractors, and register them on the electronic visitor management system,
    • Communicate to staff and visitors professionally and effectively,
    • Operate the switchboard professionally by directing all phone calls correctly,
    • Record and distribute messages electronically via email, and telephonically (MS Teams), 
    • Capture incoming and outgoing mail, and parcels on the electronic mail tracking system,
    • Ensure general tidiness and cleanliness at the reception area,
    • Check and monitor the switchboard telephone system,
    • Adhere to departmental service delivery standards. 

    Other Key Competencies:

    • The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: computer literacy; customer service skills; problem solving skills; excellent communication skills and proficiency in English; be highly reliable and a trustworthy person who respects confidentiality; have good human relations skills; and telephone etiquette skills. 

    Requirements

    • Matric Certificate (Grade 12), studying towards a Higher Certificate in Office Administration (or equivalent certificate) NQF 5, with at least minimum 2 years’ experience as a Receptionist or Administrative Assistant or Hospitality Assistant or Customer Care Agent.
