    Proposal Coordinator

    • Hatch is currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Proposal Coordinator to join our global Client Action Team (CAT), supporting sales efforts in Africa, India, and the Middle East. 
    • Our global team is experienced in business development, marketing and pursuit management, engineering, and project management. While our backgrounds are diverse our goal is singular: to help Hatch teams be more successful in their winning work efforts. 
    • Based in Johannesburg, you’ll play a key role in shaping and supporting the proposal team’s goal of producing winning submissions. You’ll manage the administrative side of proposal development – from maintaining the SharePoint site and creating custom templates, to coordinating inputs/reviews, and overseeing final production.

    As the successful candidate, you will: 

    • Support the Pursuit Manager and Proposal Process Lead in organizing proposal kick-off meetings and co-facilitating ongoing proposal coordination meetings.
    • Develop proposal outlines, draft standard content, format documents, and manage final assembly and submission.
    • Facilitate internal reviews and ensure compliance with RFP requirements by providing an additional layer of quality control.
    • Coordinate technical inputs and update/customize CVs, bios, project descriptions, and other proposal content.
    • Track progress against the proposal schedule and follow up with contributors to ensure deadlines are met.

    You bring to the role:

    • A diploma or degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
    • 2+ years of proposal development experience, including at least 1 year of experience as a proposal coordinator.
    • Exceptional writing skills with a keen eye for grammar, clarity, and consistency in editing and proofreading.

    Senior Civil Engineer

    Key Responsibilities
    Design & Technical

    • Perform conceptual and detailed civil engineering design for earthworks, roads, drainage systems, utilities, and site development.
    • Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and tender documentation.

    Client Engagement Coordinator 1

    • The Client Action Team (CAT) is looking to add a junior level Client Engagement Coordinator to join the team in Johannesburg. The Client Engagement Coordinator will come with at least 3 years prior work history and will use their experience to help Client Engagement Directors on key Hatch pursuits. 

    Accordingly, day-to-day job responsibilities will be determined by the needs and workload of the team, but will likely include: 

    • Leverage client-focused thinking to develop visual messaging for pursuit materials, including presentations, proposal documents, and leave behinds 
    • Create and source and various pursuit material graphics, including images and organizational charts 
    • Contribute and coordinate in strategy development meetings, including win strategy and presentation preparation* 
    • Support delivery of Client Action Team trainings, including event planning and providing onsite support*  
    • Manage and maintain Client Action Team intranet pages and assets 
    • Review and forward internal client support service requests to appropriate team member(s) 
    • Execute ad hoc Client Action Team member requests.

    Qualifications

    Site QA/QC: Civils (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

    • A Quality Specialist in Civil and Earthworks focuses on ensuring that all construction projects adhere to quality standards, specifications, and industry best practices, particularly for earthworks and related civil infrastructure in accordance with Hatch’s policy.     Architectural Technologist

    Summary:

    • Our Johannesburg office is seeking a skilled Architectural Technologist to join the Architectural team. The role involves delivering architectural design and technical documentation across projects of varying scale and complexity, from concept through to construction.

    Architect

    Summary:

    • Our Johannesburg office is seeking a skilled Architect to join the Architectural team. As part of Hatch Architecture, the role of an architect is to participate in the production of architectural deliverables working directly with designers, technologists, engineers, and project managers to successfully deliver diverse projects, buildings, and facilities. They coordinate work amongst all disciplines, CAD managers and sub-consultants. They require moderate supervision and guidance from senior architects but also have accountability for their deliverable production.

    As the successful candidate, you will: (duties)

    • Attain clientele and establish work networks.
    • Develop architectural design of buildings and facilities producing deliverables to illustrate conceptual, schematic, and detailed design. Producing presentation material including sketches, details, perspectives, diagrams, and similar graphic representation by hand and with design software (Must be able to draw freehand conceptual sketches).
    • Produce architectural construction drawing sets, reports, studies, specifications, and other deliverables required in multiple stages of design. 
    • Coordinate interdisciplinary design with discipline leads, project managers, and stakeholders.

    Essential: 

    • 5-10 years post-qualification experience, preferably within a consulting engineering environment and mentorship experience.
    • Experience in Brownfields and Greenfields developments – focus on industrial and mission critical facilities.
    • Has moderate understanding of international, national, regional, and local building codes, by-laws, design guidelines, and regulations. 
    • Has working knowledge of architectural graphic standards, technical standards, material and performance certifications, standards, and testing organizations such as ISO, SANS, NBR, etc.

    • Assisted in the production and review of technical documentation such as design briefs and reports, design basis and criteria, material take-offs, vendor documents, bids, and project sheets. 
    • Assisted in construction administration documents such as RFI’s, shop drawings, samples, site instructions, change orders, bills of materials, cost estimates, site visit reports, deficiency lists, etc. 
    • Worked extensively with two-dimensional drafting software for production of drawings such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc. 
    • Has worked with tri-dimensional modelling software such as SketchUp, 3ds Max, FormIt, Vray, Lumion, etc. to produce massing models, renderings, and animations. 
    • Worked with BIM modelling software such as Revit, AECOsim, OpenBuildings, etc. to produce construction drawings. BIM and Revit proficiency (advanced level) are mandatory and will be assessed. Certificates are beneficial.
    • Worked with administrative software such as MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, ProjectWise, MS Teams, Webex, etc. 
    • Worked in fast-paced team environments while simultaneously managing multiple projects on different software platforms. Ability to learn new standards, skills, software, and tools required to perform the work.

    Senior Process Engineer - Gold

    • The Process Engineer will be part of an engineering team providing engineering services and/or field support. Client liaison and maintaining the focus of the project on achieving unprecedented and sustained business results for the client is a large part of the work.
    • The role will require the engineer to oversee, guide and develop solutions in all areas of the process plant across various systems, unit operations and process equipment. Specific tasks may include the development of process engineering deliverables; solutions to infield problems; and involvement in the execution and commissioning of these solutions.
    • The Process Engineer may be required to act as Lead Process Engineer, on specific assignments, responsible for coordinating the process engineering team, oversee and guide the development of process engineering deliverables ensuring they meet the project’s scope, are delivered on schedule and budget, and meet Hatch’s quality standards. Experience in Gold Concentrator design.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Perform process engineering tasks on Minerals Processing projects, in a variety of commodities
    • When requested, act as Lead Process Engineer on projects or studies

    • Develop new criteria/calculations where required, maintaining high levels of accuracy. Provide frequent training, guidance and supervision to junior colleagues

    • Extensive design, commissioning and/or operational experience in gold processing facilities

    Senior Project Manager - Water Tunnel Infrastructure 1

    • The Senior Project Manager – Water Tunnel Infrastructure will serve as the Team Leader responsible for the overall delivery, coordination, and contract administration of the Polihali Transfer Tunnel project. The role ensures successful execution of design and construction supervision activities in line with project objectives, timelines, and quality standards.     Site Electrical Engineer (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

    • The Site Electrical Engineer supports the Engineering Manager and provides on‑site technical assistance during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. This role focuses on field engineering support, coordination with contractors, ensuring compliance with specifications, and resolving technical issues that arise on site.
