    Driver Operator (Re-advertisement): Waterberg District

    key Performance Areas

    • Operate specialized equipment. Load and offload goods/equipment. 
    • Inspection and maintenance of equipment and report defects. 
    • Keep log sheets of vehicles and machinery. 
    • Application of safety and precautionary measures.
    •  Cleaning and lubrication of machinery equipment. 
    • Grading of gravel roads and re-ravelling/shoulder maintenance. 
    • Render driving services. 
    • Transportation of work teams and materials/equipments.
    •  Detect and repair minor mechanical problems on the vehicles and take steps to have it repaired (check level and condition of oil, fuel, tyres and water).
    •  Inspection of the vehicles/equipment and report defects. 
    • Complete vehicle logbook, trip authorization for the vehicle.

    Prerequisites

    • NQF level 3 (Grade 10 certificate) / ABET / AET or equivalent appropriate qualification as recognised by SAQA.
    • A valid driver’s license and an operating certificate (PDP). 
    • A minimum of Five (5) years’ driving and operating specialized equipment experience

    Person Profile

    KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS:

    • Knowledge of driving and operating specialized equipment. 
    • Communication Skills. 
    • Ability to operate the equipment. 
    • Ability to read and write. 
    • Good eyesight. 
    • Teamwork. 
    • Physical inspection of vehicles and interpret instructions for proper use of all controls for safe operation of vehicles.
