    Assistant Factory Controller

    A day in the life an Assistant Factory Controller:

    Decision Support:

    • Provision of accurate and timely detailed product costings. Variance analysis and reporting (weekly, monthly, yearly). Assist with Preparation of the Standard Cost Budget and Revisions and submit on a timely basis. Co-ordination and Involvement in new product development teams – costings for feasibility studies.

Provision of accurate monthly Actual Cost Calculation with consistent adherence to Period End Close timelines. Ensure that the Nestle Costing Standards Guidelines and Methodologies are observed and applied consistently.

    Operational:

    • Implement procedure to avoid write offs and ensure that obsolete and redundant materials are identified and written off in accordance with head office directives.

     What will make you successful?

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Accounting / Finance function with at least 2 years in Manufacturing/ FMCG.

    Chemistry/Microbiology Analyst

    A day in the life of a Chemistry/Microbiology Analyst:

    Leadership

    • Knows by product group the principles of analytical methods applied for all parameters monitored by the factory laboratory
    • Ensures reliable results as per NQMS/ Nestle Internal requirements and within five days turnaround time.
    • Adds value to the analytical results through full understanding of the product in terms of food safety and regulatory compliance.
    • Alerts Compliance Specialist (Co-Ordinator) of discrepancies/ out of norm situations

    Technical

    • Analysis of samples: perform all fat, moisture (both rapid & oven), particle size, viscosity, effluent, sucrose, reducing sugars, viscosity, raw material analysis and proximate analysis as per Laboratory instructions and ensure correct result entry into SAP with respect to method used.
    • Management of GLP, ICP, SOP: put ICP, SOP in place and update them when necessary. Maintain Good laboratory practices (GLP). Ensure safeties are in place at all times. Use control checks and monitor analytical method performance through Q-Stat to ensure quality of analytical results.
    • Proficiency Testing: Participate in Nestlé “P” tests and other proficiency schemes.
    • Maintenance of resources: keep track of resources (chemicals/ gases/ glassware/ instruments, consumables). Maintain equipment (services) and arrange for defects/faulty equipment to be repaired. Maintain records of repairs/calibrations/analytical method control.

    • Diploma/Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or any science related qualification

    Product Technologist X2

    A day in the life of a Product Technologist:

    I&R Excellence: 

    • Lead I&R projects by working in cross-functional teams (marketing, technical and factory) and following the NPDI process from Concept to post-launch:
    • Develop formulations aligned with PTC/R&D Center and in compliance with relevant legislations as well as NF criteria and 60/40 methodology.
    • Determine best packaging solution with packaging technologist.
    • Identify factory requirements for the new products (CAPEX...).
    • Coordinate and lead industrial trials and participate in pHACCP/HACCP studies.
    • Prepare and update Manufacturing dossiers, BOMs, and Specifications for product and process
    • Ensure smooth hand-over to operations with "zero" defect industrialization.                   

    Manufacturing Excellence:

    • Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs and improve quality
    • Lead initiatives on harmonization of recipes and materials for cost reduction
    • Provide technical support to factory on identifying root causes of problems on product quality issues and give recommendations.

    Quality and compliance:

    • Ensure all I&R project tasks are aligned with internal standards and processes as per NPDI, GIs/MIs.
    • Get release approval from BU/SBU for new products.
    • Update and maintain recipe management and specification systems.
    • Build quality, regulatory compliance and food safety of new products developed.

    What will make you successful?

    • Diploma/Degree in Food Technology/Food Engineering or Microbiology/Biotechnology
    • 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing Environment, and/or product development preferably in FMCG
    • Exposure to both operational and commercial environments.
    • Must be computer literate

    A day in the life of Tipping Mixer Operator:

    • Perform the job per work instructions, guidance, to ensure product quality meet applicable standards including food safety.

    Quality System Specialist

    A day in the life of a Quality Systems Specialist:

    Leadership

    • Coordinate all activities related to the setup and maintenance of the Factory Quality Manual.
    • Ensure that Quality instructions and procedures are updated.

    Food Safety Specialist

    A day in the life of a Food Safety Specialist:

    Leadership

    • Consult Factory Supply Chain, Production, Engineering and QA in implementing and maintaining GMP pre-requisite program requirements” (GMP - PRP) and Food Safety level at site
    • Develop and implement training materials for use at site for improving the Food Safety Awareness on shop-floor level and in the field.
    • Coordinate the activities with the Pest control agency and ensure compliance of practices and continuous improvement.

    Technical Stores Man

    A day in the life of a Technical Store Man:

    • Responsible for working in a manner which adheres to hygienic standards and safety regulations. 
    • Raises manual request for NLAG and ZSIM if necessary, upon request. 
    • Receives goods from suppliers into the store by checking the quantity and quality in the presence of the supplier and carries out proper records management and control. 
    • Withdraws items by requisitions duly raised and released in the system (SAP-AMM) for ERSA or duly signed by sectional/departmental heads for UNBW, NLAG or ZSIM and carries out proper records management and control. 
    • Issues loan tools against coins only. 
    • Keeps cutting tools such as drills, taps etc. in good condition. Request sharpening from workshop if necessary. 
    • Checks loan book once a week. No material should be loaned for more than a week. 
    • Check whether requisition vouchers for uniforms are done correctly with staff number and enters all personal effects into the staff stock card. 
    • Ensures that all old damaged personal effects are properly disposed of. 
    • Ensures regular system cheek up such that physical stock situation corresponds with that of operating system (SAP) and informs the Supervisor of any discrepancies for corrective action to be taken. 
    • Takes daily readings of electricity, fuel and water meters as may be directed by his superior. 
    • Responsible for daily inventory count and results recording in the operating system (SAP-AMM) as per the inventory cycle counting plan and responsible and accountable for any discrepancy. 
    • The storekeeper responsible for data entry assists and coordinates with the M&I Supervisor to maintain the master data for the M&I Stores. 
    • Fully responsible for the security of all items placed in the M&I Store and ensures their orderly arrangement. 
    • When a job is finished at any place, the place must be left clean and tidy thus keeping the stores and its environs under good hygienic conditions in accordance with SHE, NQMS and FSMS. 
    • Proactive in promoting Safety. 
    • Supports implementation of NQMS and NCE. 
    • Implements 5S in his area and promotes in the plant. 
    • SHE: Working safely and supporting the overall Safety, Health and Environment Management standards that apply to your work area              

    What will make you successful?

    • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Certificate
