Your role

• As a key position in a matrix organisation, the role focuses on collaboration and execution across the organisation. The position bridges between the Product Areas, Functional departments and the CEO’s office, assisting in the identification and resolving of cross-functional challenges in the organisation.
• The successful incumbent must be hands-on, be able to dig into problems and drive customer delivery.
• This position will not have any direct reports and is open to all Saab Employees.
• Liaise with CEO, Deputy CEO and CFO to define and set out operations strategies and objectives for the organisation.
• Interact and develop with the operational teams, a robust delivery model which enhances our operational delivery and contributes to profitable growth and minimises customer delivery failures
• Secure overall effective execution towards key KPIs (quality, delivery precision, gross margins, milestones etc.)
• Secure effectiveness of critical cross-functional operational processes.
• Actively assess and implement measures to improve operations performance throughout the organisation
• Secure effective interaction and collaboration between organizational entities within the matrix organisation
• Foster a performance driven culture where best practices are shared and developed throughout the organization
• Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company
• Interact with department heads to review individual department annual and future plans, including sales or production goals.
• Execute special projects as needed

Your Skills, Experience And Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years’ of demonstrated Operations experience including 10 years managing in an operations, manufacturing or related.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a complex project environment
• Experience and proficiency with driving continuous improvement strategies
• Ability to work and thrive in a matrix organisation with a focus on collaboration

Job description

What you will be a part of

• Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
• This position is in the Strategic Engineering Department.

Your role

• Assist senior engineers in development/implementation of computer vision (feature extraction) and machine learning (pattern recognition) techniques for threat identification applications
• Assist with implementing and developing of an image simulation facility operating in the visible and infrared spectral bands
• Assist senior engineers with data analytics (data science) and apply machine learning techniques on very big data sets
• Attend and execute field trials
• Assist with the development of custom hardware to implement image processing algorithms
• Present results to internal and external stakeholders

Your Skills, Experience And Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in engineering R&D environment, particularly in aspects of algorithm development and analysis. Recent graduates with final year project or post-graduate specialisation in above mentioned fields will also be considered
• General electronic and/or software engineering skills
• Ability to program in C/C++ and on a Linux operating system
• Ability to design, simulate and synthesize algorithm cores for FPGA in VHDL will be highly advantageous
• Ability to program Python
• Ability to program in Matlab will be advantageous
• CUDA/OpenCL/Caffe/TensorFlow knowledge will be highly advantageous
• Scala/Spark knowledge will be highly advantageous
• General Linux skills
• Good writing and presentation skills
• Good and structured problem solving skills, very analytical
• Good interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Minimum B.Eng Electronics/Computer or BSc Computer Science
• BSc (Hons) / MSc in Data Science will be advantageous
