THE JOB AT A GLANCE
As a Monitoring Officer, you will be reporting to the Compliance Officer. You will be responsible for conducting periodic compliance monitoring reviews to identify issues of non-compliance in the business. You will also be responsible for delivering effective compliance and risk monitoring plans (CRMPs) and monitoring reports across the RMA Group and any other associates of the Group as mandated.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Monitoring Planning and Implementation:
- Completion of CRMP's and the themed monitoring as per the approved Annual Compliance Plan.
- Facilitate Regulatory Control Workshops with affected Departments on upcoming planned Monitoring reviews.
- Improve on the current compliance control environment (where required) on applicable legislation and new legislative developments via the CRMPs.
Monitoring Reviews:
- Conduct monitoring reviews of regulatory compliance, legislation and polices through the electronic compliance software system.
- Review the adequacy and effectiveness of the current controls and action plans.
- Keep working papers and adhere to the Compliance Monitoring Methodology.
Monitoring Report:
- Prepare the monitoring report as per Group Compliance standards.
- Assist in presentation of the monitoring report to the stakeholders.
- Follow up on and manage agreed actions with the business.
- Capture all findings raised during monitoring reviews on the central findings register and update the register regularly.
- Track the remediation progress of open findings raised during reviews to closure.
Adhoc Monitoring and other Initiatives:
- Conduct adhoc monitoring and investigations.
- Participate in regulatory projects implementation.
- Maintain relationships with the Divisional areas, internal audit and other related compliance & risk management functions
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?
- LLB / BCom or Internal Audit Degrees.
- Occupation Certificate: Compliance Officer (NQF Level 6) (Advantageous)
- 2 – 4 years 'experience in a similar role.
- Registered as a Member of the CISA
- Working knowledge of FAIS, Insurance Act, Long Term Insurance Act, Policyholder Protection Rules, FICA will be an added advantage.
- Strong planning and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good presentation skills and ability to interact with management.
- Experience in compiling compliance reports.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Highly motivated, accurate, methodical and able to prioritise effectively.

THE JOB AT A GLANCE
Reporting to the Process and Systems Manager, the Process Analyst will be responsible for supporting RMA business units across the Group by mapping operational processes and documenting operating manuals for the execution of operational activities and duties, recommending areas for improvement in processes to reduce cycle times, improve productivity, create capacity, and improve process reliability and customer satisfaction.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Business Process Design and Improvement:
- Interact with product and business owners to conduct business process needs analysis to understand process requirements, inputs, handoffs, and outputs of the processes.
- Facilitate process design workshops with participants from processing areas and process owners.
- Map the processes using RMA’s approved mapping standards (BPMN), including facilitating, designing, and documenting process decomposition diagrams, defining and documenting processes to cover the total lifecycle of the product or service covered.
- Review process maps to ensure that all regulatory, compliance and operational. risk control elements are incorporated and highlighted.
Documentation of Standard Operating Procedures, Technical Instructions, and other Supporting Documents
- Develop and maintain operational Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures and Technical Instructions and supporting material including job aids and reference guides, in line with operational requirements, according to RMA Group process standards, tools and supporting methodologies in support of business unit service offering.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert on the content of the manuals, processes, and procedures by providing information to business units to clarify requirements.
- Check and ensure alignment of procedure documentation, technical instructions and quick reference guides and other supporting material to policies, processes, and procedures for consistency in the messaging.
Establish and Maintain Process Architecture in line with Business Operating Model
- Align processes to the RMA Process Architecture defined in line with business operating model, by defining decomposition levels across business areas.
- Define process hierarchies across the Group, translating those into Group operational value chains to ensure alignment and seamless synergies between and across the teams, across the Group.
- Establish RMA Process Taxonomy by defining process classification, and review periods, to meet operational, compliance, risk, and quality management requirements.
Project Management
- Provide project process support during the design and implementation of small enhancements and transformational change projects by managing impact to interfaced processes, business operations and service delivery to clients.
- Participate in project meetings led by Project Managers to contribute to new process design, ensuring that business process owners approve changes prior to implementation.
- Provide guidance in terms of process standards, tools and methodology to external stakeholders or consultants during projects and initiatives where process mapping will be conducted.
Support Training and Development
- Ensure alignment of published documents to training material by interaction with learning and development team for the creation of training material for approved published operating documentation.
- Identify impact of process changes on job descriptions of staff that execute the work within the processes and recommend training requirements to bridge the gap.
- Maintain alignment with QA to identify where deviation from SOP has taken place, and conduct root cause analysis, to propose training requirements where necessary, for continual improvement.
Reporting
- Use appropriate templates and channels to report on progress on a weekly and monthly basis, in line with the QA Framework and Governance structures agreed.

Reporting to the Head of Legal Operations, the incumbent will manage and attend to all third party (RAF) and non-RAF recoveries. The incumbent will contribute to the company's goals of recovering third party claims following losses suffered by RMA and in doing so influence the reduction of claims costs.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Management of the Third-Party Recoveries Portfolio
- Assess the merits of accident and make determination whether the matter is a third-party claim or not.
- If the merits confirm that it is a third-party claim, refer the matter to attorneys for recovery.
- Liaising with attorneys and issue instruction with regards to recoveries of third party claims.
- Issuing letters of demand relating to non- RAF claims recoveries.
Assist Attorneys with Court Proceedings
- Consider settlement offers and issue instruction to attorneys on whether to accept or reject proposed offers.
- Facilitate attendance in court by RMA attorneys with regards to litigation matters.
- Provide effective support to RMA attorneys responsible for third party recoveries.
Reporting and Status Updates
- Ensure accurate maintenance and updating of status reports on third parties’ recoveries.
- Ensure regular communication with attorneys.
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?
- Legal Degree or Paralegal Diploma
- 5 to 7 years’ experience working in a legal environment
- 2 years’ experience related to RAF recoveries
- Functional knowledge of COIDA
- Good working knowledge of RAF claims recoveries will be an added advantage
