Calling Software Engineering Graduates! We are a global fintech solutions company with expertise in complex payment environments and we are looking for Associate Software Engineers to join our dynamic team.

Software engineers at Stanchion should be self-starters and should strive to be experts in their domain. This encompasses Standard Edition Java programming, testing and database skills. They have a deep understanding of the Windows operating system (or easily become well acquainted). Individuals matching this profile will be expected to have an eye for detail and to care deeply about quality.

Skills:

• Develop solutions from technical specifications
• Develop technical specifications from business and/or functional specifications
• Write high-quality, readable code to applicable standards (including internal and external customer’s standards)
• Ensure that version control is properly performed
• Highlight and address errors or short-comings in received specifications
• Be able to work on more than one project at a time
• Deliver software that is thoroughly tested and debugged
• Effectively communicate status without prior prompting
• Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing across the business
• Technical support and management of our environment
• Liaise with vendors; third parties and clients in a professional and courteous manner
• Accurate and timeous resolution of problems
• Assistance with automation and improvement of processes within the organization
• Assist with code quality assurance
• Willingness to work extra time if necessary

Additional requirements:

• Skilled with Java SE.
• Good MS SQL Server skills, including the ability to write SQL queries.
• Understanding of Windows.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills (English).
• Ability to read and interpret business and functional specifications with the aim then to write accurate a concise technical specification.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications for realization in software.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural diagrams and requirements.
• A solid understanding of testing and the ability to test a new solution end-to-end.
• Working knowledge of source and version control principles and products (e.g. Bazaar, CVS, Perforce).

Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent
• 1-2 years experience in Java and SQL

Job Description

Technical Analysts provide operational support across all our clients. The support includes daily monitoring of the environment and dealing with issues as they occur.

• Methodical approach to work
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
• The ability to monitor work flows
• The ability to work according to set processes
• Understanding of Incident management
• Dedicated worker
• Basic understanding of Postilion systems and the payments environment would be beneficial
• Handling of day-to-day incidents and requests for information / basic transaction queries
• Logging of all new incidents into the Service Desk
• Management of open incidents after hours, and working effectively to resolve these incidents
• Assist with problem solving and information gathering (traces/ log files etc)
• Technical support of our environment
• Early identification of issues through monitoring
• Escalation to senior technicians according to set processes and guidelines
• Basic monitoring and quality assurance checking
• Documentation and contributing to the Knowledge base
• Team work
• The job requires shifts to be worked. The shifts run on a rotational basis- 2 weeks of day duty and 2 weeks of night duty with relevant days off in between.
• Shifts run from 7am to 7pm and from 7pm to 7am.
