    Marketing Consultant

    Key Purpose

    • The Investment Marketing Consultant is a member of a high‑performance marketing team that partners with Discovery Invest to deliver integrated marketing and digital solutions in support of investment, retirement and wealth‑building propositions.
    • The Marketing Consultant will take ownership of marketing initiatives end‑to‑end, applying marketing and digital best practice, exercising sound judgement, and leveraging internal and agency relationships to deliver high‑quality outcomes within a regulated environment.

    Key responsibilities

    Marketing delivery & execution

    • Own and deliver integrated marketing campaigns aligned to Discovery Invest’s business objectives, taking accountability for quality, timelines and delivery across all touchpoints.
    • Manage multiple marketing initiatives concurrently, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and timelines.
    • Apply Discovery’s marketing model consistently across channels, products and audiences.

    Stakeholder partnership

    • Partner closely with investment product, distribution, adviser, legal and compliance teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective marketing solutions.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior and technical stakeholders.
    • Act as a trusted marketing advisor within the Invest environment, providing considered input and recommendations to support effective decision‑making.

    Content, communication & journeys

    • Translate complex investment, retirement and wealth concepts into clear, audience‑appropriate communication.
    • Contribute to the design and optimisation of intuitive, client‑centric journeys across digital platforms.
    • Create, maintain and coordinate marketing collateral across channels, with particular ownership of non‑social digital platforms (including websites, adviser tools and digital journeys), ensuring accuracy, consistency and ongoing optimisation.

    Education & experience

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3‑year undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Finance, Investments, Economics or a related commercial discipline.
    • Postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications in investments, finance or wealth management (e.g. CFP®, CFA® Level I) would be advantageous.

    Experience

    • 3+ years’ experience in a marketing role, preferably within financial services, investments, retirement or wealth management.
    • Experience supporting integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
    • Exposure to working with complex products or technical subject matter.
    • Ability to execute effectively under guidance within a regulated environment.

    New Accounts Consultant

    Job Purpose

    • The New Accounts Consultant assists with the opening of new accounts (with specific focus on FICA or KYC), as well as captures and/or maintains account information ensuring data integrity. The incumbent will prompt, request and resolve/remediate any required information that is outstanding or incorrect, with various stakeholders. Further, report on/act on errors within the account origination KYC process and/or other manual remediation tasks.

     Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to

    • Ensures completeness and quality of New Business remediation and updating client information within agreed SLAs
    • Accurately classifies, registers, routes and indexes documentation either manually or on the system
    • Takes action on incomplete information, in order to adhere to requirements with clients, third parties or any stakeholders (e.g., Brokers, Corporate BPs, etc.)
    • Achieves specified production targets, turn-around-times, handle times, etc.
    • Supports internal stakeholders with remediation activities
    • Engages with clients with regards to soliciting documents and/or information, queries and FICA requirements
    • Keeps abreast with legislative and industry changes (FIC Act, FAIS, POPI, etc.)

    Installations Administrator (Senior)

    Key Purpose of the role

    • The position is responsible for the day-to-day administration within the Retirement Funds business unit. This is a core administration function and the incumbent would be required to holistically manage and control a portfolio of different Retirement Fund disciplines, for example scheme installations, monthly contribution reconciliation, investment option, special rule registration, renewal, amendments, enhancements, Section 13A non-compliance letters and calculations, Default Reg requirements, T-day and new member processes. The incumbent must ensure that processes and procedures are implemented, maintained, and improved. The incumbent needs to ensure operational activity is conducted within regulatory frameworks, accurately, effectively, and efficiently. The incumbent must ensure that he/she has the knowledge, skills, tools, and competencies required to perform the required job within service level agreements. The incumbent must have an appetite to be part of a growing new business unit, continuous improvement, able to adapt to change easily and play a role in change management within the team, challenge the status quo, inspire, and motivate others. The incumbent will continually review existing processes and procedures to ensure the delivery of committed services to the Umbrella Funds Clients.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • Manage adherence to Service Level Agreement. Implement processes and procedures and ensure all services in respect of the operations of Umbrella Funds are conducted timeously and efficiently.
    • Ensure others are trained on the processes and systems. Provides staff with clear direction. Sets appropriate standards of behaviour and outputs. 
    • Ensure that the contribution / billing process (Section 13A, Default Reg, T-day) are accurate, compliant, and abreast with regulatory frameworks such as, Pension Funds Act, Tax Act, Rules of the Discovery Life Umbrella Pension and Provident Funds, Participating employer special rules. Ensures delivery of key operational attributes such as data completeness and data quality.
    • Assist with audits and appropriate responses to audit queries.
    • Ensure productivity levels are optimised.
    • Dealing with escalated calls or queries from internal stakeholders, communicate effectively with clients to resolve queries and escalations, ensure client expectations are met.
    • Develop and maintain excellent business relations with internal and external brokers.
    • Managing projects.
    • The incumbent is the Subject Matter Expert in Retirement Fund areas under management. Produces new ideas, approaches or insights. Produces range of solutions to problems and do root cause analysis. Effective decision-making by “out of the box” thinking and weighing up risks involved.

    • NQF level 6 or B Com degree or similar is advantageous
    • Relevant Industry Qualifications – Wealth Management, Introduction to Retirement Funds - Advantageous
    • MS Office - Advanced Excel skills, Accounting, Investments, People management, operational processes and process mapping. Retirement Fund and Umbrella Fund operations.
    • Full compliance and legislative universe relating to employee benefits, FAIS and Umbrella Funds.
    •  3 - 5 years’ experience in the employee benefits and 5 years in a senior role.

    Learning Designer and Developer

    KEY PURPOSE

    • To consult with the business and design and develop learning pathways, as well as associated learning material for the Discovery Health business according to high quality standards.

    AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY MAY INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO

    • To proactively or on request from business, to analyse the business need and to create a specification for the development of learning programmes and learning interventions which is aligned to the business need.
    • To consult with stakeholders across the business areas in order to establish relationships and networks.
    • To gather information about products in relation to key needs and requirements of the area and to develop a comprehensive curriculum to cater for the needs of each specific area.
    • To conduct research in order to identify best practice and to design a blended learning approach which will meet the business need.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

    • Must commence with the Diploma in ETDP or equivalent and complete it within the required period
    • If already has the qualification, needs to have 4 – 5 years working experience as a Learning Designer before being considered for the promotion
    • If already in the role and hired as an SME, must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience, and must complete the qualification
    • Performance and attitude must also be equally rated (360 surveys and feedback from project surveys)
    • POE – to create a learning pathway that reflects a leadership / soft skills module or solving for a component linked to one of our strategic objectives. Research element (must include the new technology / digital components and new learning trends) which influenced the learning pathway selected. Develop an Articulate Storyline interactive module with video element or simulation component. This will be assessed by the Head of Learning and Development and found competent.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS

    • Design and develop learning pathways / journeys for strategic projects
    • Must obtain a survey score of over 9 for a 12-month period
    • Must obtain a 90% quality score monthly
    • Advanced programmes to be developed (this could include leadership modules and soft skills modules)
    • Conduct 1 mentoring session per week for a Learning Designer and / or Training Specialist or Potential talent
    • Cross QA 5% sample of the Learning Designer and provide developmental coaching
    • Assist with second QA
    • Must develop at least 3 Articulate Storyline modules (including assessments) per quarter.
