    Assistant Management Accountant (R630B)

    Responsibilities:

    Financial Management:

    • Prepare monthly and annual deferred and accrued income schedules.
    • Draft monthly management accounts which include income statement, balance sheet and cashflow.
    • Analysis and recommendations for improved performance in financial areas
    • Research contracts and grants management (Project Management)
    • Maintain active contracts and grants on an electronic database
    • Monthly financial reporting preparation of funder financial reports
    • Managing budgets and reporting in foreign and local currency
    • Maintain relationships across senior levels
    • Maintaining relationships with funders, sponsors and other relevant stakeholders
    • Assist monthly / quarterly / annually with identification and management of cost reimbursement / advance paid contracts and grants to comply to general accounting practices.
    • Assist with project related year end audits.
    • Prepare financial data for quarterly and annual ENE treasury submissions such as income statement, balance sheet and cashflow.

    Core Requirements:

    • 3 year financial or management accounting degree or a 4 year financial or management accounting diploma.
    • 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.

    Advantageous:

    • Experience having worked in Public Sector finance and budgeting would be advantageous
    • Experience in Public Finance Management Act (PMFA) would be advantageous

    Laboratory Intern (R811A)

    Core Requirements:

    • BSc or BTech In Molecular Biology, Genetics or similar qualification or higher
    • 1 -2 years’ knowledge/experience in Molecular Biology or Genetics
    • 1 -2 years’ knowledge/experience with basic molecular biology techniques e.g. RNA, DNA isolation, PCR and Gel Electrophoresis
    • Knowledge of good laboratory practice (GLP)

    Advantageous:

    • Knowledge/experience in next generation sequencing (NGS) laboratory workflows
    • Knowledge/experience with sample management
    • Experience with DNA and RNA quality control
    • The following criteria apply to the selection of candidates:
    • Not studying full-time/ classes must be after normal working hours.
    • No formal work experience within the Molecular Biology/Genetics field.

    Research Assistant (R807A)

    Responsibilities:

    • Input into protocol development as needed
    • Assistance with training of vocational training staff members
    • Data collection and data entry tasks
    • Assisting project coordinator with administrative tasks as needed
    • Data quality assurance
    • Screening, recruitment and enrolment of participants
    • Tracking, transporting and retaining participants in the study for all study appointments
    • GCP training and adhering to ethical guidelines

    Core Requirements:

    • Matric with one to two year accredited course in Social Sciences/Public Health field
    • Three years experience as a fieldworker with adolescents/young people

    Advantageous

    • Diploma/certificate advantageous
    • Previous experience with interventions for substance use with adolescents/young people
