    Route to Market Manager

    Job Description
    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    • The role of the Route to Market Manager is to identify and drive growth and value creation opportunities within and across Tiger’s General Trade (GT) channel. Through focused analysis of gaps, trends, competitors and demand shifts, the Route to Market Manager will provide fact and insight-based solutions aligned with Tiger’s overall channel strategy and execute these solutions through the effective management of GT projects. The solutions will include aspects of upskilling Sales Representatives, Customer Managers, and potentially third-party support in the channel.

    Responsibilities
    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Determine the methodology and inputs required to conduct channel analysis. Produce GT insights by reviewing the performance of each category, including assessing opportunities and threats within that category, and understand any wider trends that might be impacting performance
    • Use your detailed insight into, and understanding of, the General Trade channel to play a pivotal role in the setting of the Sales Strategy for this specific channel. Influence stakeholders across the organisation to aid the understanding of the specific difficulties faced around GT and the optimum approach to overcoming them.
    • Evaluate whether the GT channel is losing or gaining relevance, and benchmark against the performance of competitors
    • Seek to enhance the Tiger route to market offering, ensuring consistency across outlets as well as the prioritisation of Tiger Brands as the go to product for 3rd party distributors
    • Develop and manage relationships with potential information service providers to better understand the
    • General Trade
    • Produce project progress reports detailing the impact and effectiveness of GT initiatives. You should be looking to quickly and effectively course correct when necessary
    • Work with the People Team and Strategy & Capability Director to design, develop, and deploy training and information to enhance the Sales Representative and Customer Manager offering. Focus on translating the training and development into improved reach, penetration through better customer understanding, intimacy, and ultimately satisfaction

    Job Description
    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    • A buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies or equipment for a business.  Duties include negotiating deals with suppliers, researching possible item selections and taking inventory of current products.

    Responsibilities
    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Achieve repair and maintenance costs by ensuring competitive buying from suppliers (comply with Central
    • Procurement sourcing procedure) - Ensure timeous delivery and availability of spares/ stock to minimize the impact of downtime or stock shortages
    • Drive quarterly meetings with suppliers 
    • Drive SLA discussions with key suppliers

    Manufacturing Cost Analyst (FMCG)

    Job Description
    THE JOB AT A GLANCE:

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for but limited to; driving continuous improvement in the unit to maintain and improve operating efficiencies, reduce cost and improve sustainability. They will act as a custodian for the production batch/job management as well as stock management process. They will provide support to the process engineer and production staff, with a particular focus on tracking financial benefits around continuous improvement and value add projects

    Responsibilities
    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Perform data analysis, root-cause analysis and work with the cost accountant to implement process improvements to support issue resolution and optimizing production processes to eliminate losses, improve capacity, throughput and reduce conversion cost.
    • Assist with mass balance calculations and monitoring of actual waste factors vs benchmarked standards.
    • Monitor material issues and returns and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
    • Track the financial benefits associated with the various improvement projects
    • Work with the Production, R&D, Technology and Quality teams to support the design of new systems and processes for the introduction of new products and the improvement of existing processes, with regard to financial benefits
    • Ensure that jobs and batches are opened and closed timeously
    • Report on actual volumes and variances vs plan daily, escalating to cost accountant and site management for action, in order to minimize losses
    • Assist Cost Accountant with variance analysis and validation monthly
    • Training production staff to complete basic system transactions, to ensure that internal controls and standard practice is followed at all times

    • As the R&D Manager for Culinary, you will manage a team of Product & Packaging Technologists to ensure the successful development and launch of good quality and cost-effective products. You will be responsible for translating the marketing NPD Brief into product specifications, working with Supply Chain to design for manufacture, carrying out research in order to advise marketing on global trends and local preferences.     • Assess the feasibility of the marketing NPD Brief and design the specifications and plans to implement.
    • Develop products in agreement with the project team and in line with the NPD brief.
    • Re-engineer existing products to drive manufacturing value or to ensure market relevance
    • Carry out Value Analysis as per project protocol (actual costs saved) whilst maintaining or enhancing product profile, shelf life or customer experience
    • Hitting strategic growth targets for innovation in line with the business unit expectations (e.g. sales growth of xx%)
    • Work with Category (National and International) to develop products from concept, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and suppliers
    • Management of the pilot/testing facilities, where applicable
