    Senior Specialist: Vodapay CX/CI

    Role Purpose

    The Senior Specialist: VodaPay Customer Experience & Continuous Improvement role is based within Commercial Operations.

     

    Role purpose:

    • The Senior Specialist for VodaPay Customer Experience and Continuous Improvement improves the customer experience by applying design thinking methodology to analyse customer experience problems and designing ideal customer journeys and optimised processes and solutions including people changes. The Senior Specialist for Customer Experience and Continuous Improvement is responsible for the execution of the key operational and strategic solutions in the form of projects and initiatives with the biggest impact within the business. These includes identifying the key KPIs impacted and tracking and progress reporting on them. The Senior
    • Specialist will be responsible for the facilitation of design thinking workshops to ensure that effective
    • Customer experience and Continuous Improvement frameworks and tools are applied to achieve

    • A key part of this role is to execute and deliver customer experience design initiatives and projects within the wider multi-channel strategy. The role is accountable for operational delivery of key initiatives to improve customer experience and working closely with the Vodacom Financial Services, COPS Channels, Retail, Product and Segment Teams.
       

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Derive insights from operational
    • performance data and reports to guide the re-imagine of journeys.
    • Formulate fundamental problem statement for Customer Experience and Continuous Improvement Initiatives
    • Detail data analysis to determine root cause of business problem
    • Facilitate Customer Experience Design thinking workshops with cross functional teams using Design thinking methodology and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques
    • End-to-end customer experience journey and business process design
    • Define Journey and Process measures and KPIs
    • Document Journeys and Processes with initiatives recommended for optimisation
    • Compile business cases for Customer Experience and Continuous Improvement initiatives
    • Post implementation reviews on Customer Experience and Continuous Improvement Initiatives
    • Build effective professional relationships across the business and establishes the Customer Experience Team’s credibility with Senior Leaders
    • Responsible for working with leadership to develop /amend Customer Experience KPI’s and mandate

     

    Customer Experience Design and Continuous Improvement:

    • Provides expertise and coaching in customer Experience design thinking and Continuous Improvement framework, tools and methodologies to ensure the correct and efficient application of methodologies and frameworks.
    • Provide coaching to the Specialists and Specialists in Design thinking and Continuous Improvement methodologies and best practice ways of working
    • Actively researches best practice and new methodologies and builds onto the Customer Experience and Continuous Improvement knowledge repository
       

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Goal and customer focused with track record in executing 
    • Ability to align teams across business without necessarily having direct management control
    • Capable of working in a complex organisation and able to build strong relationships and credibility with multiple levels internally and externally
    • Experience in implementing customer driven initiatives and improvements in a large organisation
    • Ability to manage multiple projects to time lines

     

    Must have technical / professional qualifications:

    • Matric is essential
    • A 3 – 4 year relevant Degree/Diploma essential

    Senior Co-ordinator Pricing

    Role Purpose

    The Senior Coordinator: Pricing & Analytics role is based within Vodacom Business Africa (VBA Group).

    The role of Senior Coordinator: Pricing & Analytics is to be responsible for structuring pricing for fixed, digital and managed solutions, conducting commercial negotiations for global connectivity opportunities,   creating high levels of performance in a timely manner, being innovative in propositions and ensuring customer needs are addressed with achieving key financial requirements of VBA.
     

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Pricing:

    • Execute VBA pricing strategy based on a keen understanding of the company’s capabilities, positioning and market dynamics.
    • Develop standardized pricing models, processes and assumptions to deliver on profitability targets, whilst enabling the sales teams to compete effectively in the market.
    • Structuring wholesale pricing of fixed and managed connectivity solutions for clients in the Carrier Services space and supporting the Sales win rate strategy by performing deal profit and loss analysis whilst maintaining acceptable margins and profitability; 
    • Structuring the pricing of non-connectivity products (i.e. IoT, AWS, Microsoft etc.) and fixed and managed connectivity solutions for clients in Vodacom Business Africa’s (VBA) portfolio and supporting the Sales win rate strategy by performing deal profit and loss analysis whilst maintaining acceptable margins and profitability;
    • Leading and managing the business relationship & communication (including commercial negotiations) of pricing by engaging various service providers;
    • Demonstrating consistent levels of satisfactory performance by ensuring that all pricing requests (including RFPs) are responded to in a timely manner;
    • Financial and Commercial Analysis of bids to maintain margins and profitability
    • Swift analysis of information and articulation of the results to key stakeholders
    • Develop practical commercial solutions that will drive sales, in collaboration with Sales, Solution Architects, Bid Management, Technology and Finance teams to meet customer requirements for fixed and managed connectivity services as well as IoT and digital services;

    Reporting & Analytics:

    • Perform exploratory analysis of Big Data from various systems / sources such as Siebel, Sage, Excel etc. to explore revenue growth and increasing win rate;
    • Prepare written reports and/or visual presentations for VBA EXCO and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) reporting;
    • Provide insights and analytics to support EXCO strategy alignment and decision making;
    • Reporting on structures to support measurement of staff KPIs within the commercial team;
    • Provide management with a detailed monthly/quarterly/annual analysis of the tracker report historic win-loss performance of all customers deals /quotes detailing and relating this data to competitor pricing;
    • Apply insights and analysis to diagnose ineffective and sub-optimal resource allocation;
    • Commercial lead on all projects and automation of VBA process;
    • Supporting Revenue assurance with data required for reconciliations and audit duties

    Budgeting:
    Develop revenue forecast based on the success / probability rate of deal closures in addition to historical sales data and compare forecast against annual revenue target.

    Competitor and Market Intelligence:

    • Actively monitor industry trends and develop pricing strategies that take advantage of untapped market segments and help the company gain market share in new markets (and generate new revenue);
    • Gathers, analyses and distributes intelligence on products, market conditions, competitors, relevant compliance and regulation and customers for business decision-making.
    • Extract insights and trends from raw customer and competitor data for the development of product price books;
       

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Knowledge of telecommunications industry, market trends and the products thereof
    • Developing commercial & pricing strategies
    • Proven experience in customer facing environment, with ability to clearly articulate commercial impacts of actions and decisions

    • Ability to establish networks with individuals in all functions and to influence and coach stakeholders with logical, rationale analysis and clear explanations.

    Senior Data Scientist

    Role Purpose

    • Co-creating Advanced Machine Learning products that drives revenue, reduce cost and increase customer experience.
    • Developing predictive models with large and varied dataset s, working with a community of colleagues across Advanced Machine Learning, technology, and data and customer functions
    • Contributing to the wider community to enable an Advanced Machine Learning capability across Vodafone globally.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Development of machine learning models for various areas of the business on the Big Data Platform
    • Development of prototype code in e.g. PySpark for automated training and scoring of the machine learning models
    • Machine Learning Model performance tracking and reporting using e.g. Qlik
    • Uses data visualisation to engage audience in a compelling way, enabling effective storytelling
    • Work with lead data scientist to deliver key packages of work to meet the needs of business customers
    • Works in partnership with Big Data Engineering for data ingestion to support use cases
    • Works in partnership with Big Data Production Data Engineering for model automation and productionising 

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • 4-7 years’ experience in similar data science role
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Social Sciences, Data Journalism, or related fields
    • Expertise in data manipulation: use of structured data tools (e.g., SQL), & unstructured data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL) 
    • Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language: Python, Scala
    • Expertise in machine learning libraries (e.g., R, H2O) and multivariate techniques (e.g. k-means segmentation, multiple regression, factor analysis, timeseries forecasting)
    • Experience in digital data sets, e.g., social listening, social network analysis)
    • Familiarity with visualisation tools (e .g. Tableau, Qlik, D3)
    • Exposure/interest in machine learning

    Specialist: Core data & Infrastructure

    Role Purpose:

    To perform engineering, architecture, optimisation, dimensioning, high level support and research of the packet core and Telco over Cloud common infrastructure. To provide support in this regard to both internal and external, local and international teams.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • These responsibilities include the selection and testing of new Network Core Equipment for current and future technologies including Packet data core, LTE, Wifi, Fixed line and converged networks

    • Co-ordinate and execute, acceptance testing and manage roll out of new Core
    • Packet Switching software as well as firmware and software on the TOC environment.
    • Provide High level support to internal and external customers
    • Development of tools to assist within the planning and optimisation of the Core Packet Switching network.
    • Interface with and communicate technical concepts in a clear manner-to internal, external customers and suppliers
    • Maintain Relationships with the respective vendors and divisions.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Matric (Essential)
    • A 3 year degree/diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical or equivalent qualification. (Essential)

    Senior Analyst: Investor Relations

    Role Purpose

    To support the investor relations (IR) team in showcasing Vodacom Group’s investment case with leading institutional investors, sell-side analysts and other key stakeholders. This includes the preparation of class-leading IR material, such as results announcements and presentations. Further, to support the IR team in gathering and analysing information to generate market, industry and business feedback and insights. 
     

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting the quarterly results process and annual integrated report.
    • Supporting with the production of investor relations material for Board and ExCo reports.

    • Experience in investing in financial markets is desirable.
    • Strong analytical skills and a very high level of attention to detail.
    • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills given the role requires co-ordination across many OpCo's regions and functions within Vodacom.
    • Good written communication skills.
    • Good task/project management skills given a wide range of responsibilities.
    • A good understanding of the key financial drivers of a telecom and fintech operator, good numerical skills, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint in particular.
