    Compliance Coordinator

    Job Purpose:

    • The Compliance Coordinator ensures that the organization adheres to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards. This role implements and upholds company policies related to quality assurance, environmental management, health & safety, and corporate governance, helping to minimize risk and foster a culture of compliance and integrity across all business units.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with management and business units; understand operational risks and provide actionable recommendations.
    • Ethics Management: Oversee the Code of Ethics, manage whistleblowing channels, coordinate ethics training, and ensure timely escalation of breaches.
    • Compliance Program Oversight: Maintain the compliance calendar, track regulatory changes, update policies, conduct risk assessments, and follow up on corrective actions.
    • Reporting & Monitoring: Deliver accurate compliance reports, conduct internal audits, and maintain up-to-date documentation aligned with legislative changes.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree (NQF 7) in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or related field

    Chief Operations Officer

     Job Purpose

    • The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for the end-to-end operational performance, discipline, and execution of the organisation, with direct accountability for Production and Warehousing, and executive oversight of all supporting operational functions including Logistics & Distribution, Facilities Management, Security, and Operational Services.
    • The COO ensures that operations are safe, efficient, cost-effective, compliant, customer-aligned, and scalable, translating company strategy into measurable operational outcomes. This role leads to the design and execution of operational systems, controls, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives that drive service excellence, productivity, margin improvement, and sustainable growth.
    • The COO is a key member of the leadership team and works closely with the CEO and functional heads to ensure cross-functional alignment, operational stability, and high-quality delivery across the value chain.

    Job Objectives and Functions

    Key Objectives Job Functions

    Executive Leadership of Production 

    • Provide strategic and operational leadership to all production functions to achieve volume, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
    • Translate demand plans into production strategy, including capacity planning, shift structures, labour deployment, and throughput optimisation.
    • Ensure effective production planning and scheduling, balancing resource constraints, customer priorities, and delivery commitments.
    • Establish and manage production KPIs such as efficiency, yield, rejects/offcuts, downtime, rework, labour productivity, and safety compliance.
    • Drive strong operating rhythm: daily production meetings, escalation processes, issue resolution, and performance reviews.
    • Improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and ensure preventive maintenance discipline.
    • Ensure production operates within quality standards, SOPs, and legal requirements, including recordkeeping and compliance controls.

    Executive Leadership of Warehousing 

    • Own end-to-end warehouse performance including inbound receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, dispatch, and stock control.
    • Drive warehouse layout and material flow optimisation to reduce bottlenecks and improve throughput and accuracy.
    • Ensure high integrity of inventory management:
    • Stock accuracy, cycle counts, variances, reconciliation discipline
    • Stock rotation and controls for obsolescence, damage, shrinkage and loss
    • Establish governance for stock movement processes including authorisation controls, segregation of duties, and audit readiness.
    • Lead improvement initiatives across warehouse operations: slotting strategy, pick-path optimisation, scanning discipline, dispatch controls.

    Bond Store / Bonded Cage Management & Governance 

    • Provide executive oversight and accountability for all bonded store / bonded cage operations, ensuring full compliance with customs legislation, bonded warehouse requirements, and internal governance standards.
    • Establish and enforce strict access controls, segregation of duties, and authorisation protocols for all bonded stock movements.
    • Ensure accurate receipt, storage, issue, transfer, and disposal of bonded goods, supported by complete documentation and system records.
    • Oversee inventory integrity within the bonded environment, including cycle counts, reconciliations, variance investigations, and corrective actions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate customs reporting, acquittals, and audit readiness, including support during inspections by customs or regulatory authorities.
    • Implement and maintain robust loss prevention and risk mitigation controls within the bonded cage to prevent shrinkage, non-compliance, or regulatory exposure.
    • Ensure bonded operations are fully integrated with production, warehousing, logistics, and finance processes, while maintaining compliance boundaries.
    • Oversee the performance and compliance of any third-party service providers involved in bonded operations, ensuring SLA adherence and regulatory alignment.
    • Drive continuous improvement in bonded store processes to enhance control, efficiency, and audit outcomes without compromising compliance requirements.

    Logistics & Distribution Management 

    • Provide leadership and governance over logistics (internal fleet and/or third-party distribution as applicable).
    • Ensure reliable service performance to customers (OTIF) while optimising delivery costs and route efficiency.
    • Oversee dispatch planning, load accuracy, delivery documentation controls, and proof-of-delivery processes.
    • Establish supplier and service provider performance controls (SLAs, scorecards, escalation processes).
    • Ensure compliance with legal requirements relevant to logistics (e.g., road safety, licensing, load safety, etc. as applicable).

    Facilities & Infrastructure Management 

    • Oversee facilities management to ensure safe, functional, compliant, and efficient operational environments.

    Accountabilities include:

    • Building upkeep and preventative maintenance schedules
    • Utilities management (electricity, water, waste) and cost control
    • Plant layout support, space planning, and operational readiness
    • Contractor management and facilities procurement governance
    • Ensure facilities are maintained to meet safety, security, and audit requirements.
    • Lead facilities improvement projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and measurable value.

    Security, Loss Prevention & Asset Protection 

    • Provide strategic oversight and governance of security operations to protect people, stock, equipment, and business assets.
    • Ensure robust site security protocols including access control, incident management, CCTV governance, visitor management, and contractor controls.
    • Lead loss prevention strategies addressing shrinkage, internal and external theft risks, and control weaknesses.
    • Manage security service providers and ensure compliance to SLA, reporting, and incident escalation requirements.
    • Establish processes to ensure security supports operational flow without compromising safety and control standards

    People Leadership, Workforce Planning & Performance Culture 

    • Lead and develop operational leaders across multiple functions, ensuring high performance, accountability, and capability growth.
    • Ensure workforce planning aligns to demand and operational strategy (headcount, shifts, seasonal peaks, skills coverage).
    • Implement strong performance management routines:
    • Clear KPI ownership
    • Coaching and corrective action
    • Recognition and discipline where required
    • Build succession pipelines for critical operational roles and ensure training compliance.

    Financial Control & Cost-to-Serve Management 

    • Own operational budgets and drive cost discipline across production, warehousing, logistics, facilities and security.
    • Identify margin improvement opportunities through productivity gains, waste reduction, and smarter cost management.
    • Monitor and manage operational cost drivers (labour, overtime, fuel, contractor spend, utilities, wastage).
    • Drive strategic sourcing and vendor governance (where relevant) to improve value and reduce operational risk.

    Operational Excellence, Lean & Continuous Improvement 

    • Lead the operational excellence agenda using structured approaches such as Lean, root cause analysis, and standardisation.
    • Identify constraints and inefficiencies across the value chain and implement improvements in:
    • Cycle time reduction
    • Waste elimination
    • Space utilisation improvements
    • Productivity and labour planning
    • Standard work and SOP improvements
    • Ensure improvements are sustained through governance, training, standardisation, and KPI monitoring.
    • Build a culture where teams use data to solve problems and continuously improve.

    Process Optimisation & Continuous Improvement 

    • Apply Industrial Engineering principles to analyse workflows, layouts, capacity, and resource utilisation.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, waste reduction, cycle time optimisation).
    • Identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven process improvements across production and warehousing.
    • Standardise processes and introduce best-practice operational controls.

    Operational Governance, Compliance, Safety & Quality 

    • Ensure operational compliance with health and safety legislation and internal policies.
    • Own operational readiness for audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
    • Establish incident and risk management processes: reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, tracking and closure.
    • Drive safety culture through leadership behaviour, enforcement of standards, and continuous education.
    • Ensure quality systems are embedded in operations and that defects are prevented through strong process controls.

    Strategic Execution & Cross-Functional Alignment 

    • Act as the organisation’s operational integrator, ensuring alignment between Sales, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Operations.
    • Lead operational planning cycles and ensure execution of strategic initiatives that impact delivery, cost, service, and growth.
    • Provide timely, accurate operational reporting to the CEO and leadership team, including risks, constraints, and mitigation plans.

    Experience 

    • Operational leadership in production and warehousing environments 8-12+ Years
    • Proven leadership of multi-function operations including logistics and service providers 8 Years
    • Demonstrated track record in productivity improvement, cost control, and operational governance 8 Years
    • Experience operating at senior management / Exco-facing level 8 Years
    • Multi-site operational oversight 8 Years

    Qualifications 

    • NQF 7 Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, operations management , supply chain or related Essential
    • NQF Level 8 Postgraduate qualification in Operations Management/ Supply Chain Management/MBA/Business Leadership Desirable

    Warehouse Clerk - Forwarding

    Job Description
    Monitor Inbound Deliveries

    • Collaborate with Supply team to list expected deliveries and prepare for efficient receiving.
    • Receive shipments and verify packages according to purchase order and packing lists (quantity, quality, packaging etc.)
    • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
    • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
    • Record and report discrepancies to Supervisor and Supply team
    • Maintain accurate electronic as well as physical records and assist in inventory control

    Supplier Payments and Returns
