    Superintendent (North West)

    PURPOSE

    • The purpose of the Superintendent is to perform a technical and supervisory role on a tailings project, ensuring setting out of the site, applying the relevant designs and plans, resources management, monitoring and reporting on progress of their section of the project against plan, as well as liaising with sub-contractors. Leads a team of Operations Supervisors and Team Leaders.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Business/Function Management

    • Ensure operational execution in their section aligns to organisational directives, as provided by Senior Superintendent / Regional Manager.
    • Execute operations for their section to support effective delivery of the project, in support of sustainability of the broader business.
    • Ensure compliance and adherence to policies, procedures, practices and legislative requirement for their section, identify gaps, propose improvements and implement approved changes as required.

    Financial, Commercial & Contract Management

    • Monitor and control the cost of materials and equipment, and recommend and implement cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
    • Compare plant and labour costs against the budget.
    • Complete all financial reporting requirements and administration.
    • Highlight irregularities and delays for possible claims and extension of time, e.g. waiting for drawings, incorrect information, etc.
    • Execute operations in their section to ensure all contractual requirements as communicated to them are met.
    • Drive cost consciousness and awareness within their team.

    Risk Management & Compliance, incl. ESG responsibility

    • Ensure all financial, technical and operational risks and opportunities relating to their area of responsibility are identified, and mitigating actions implemented and monitored; as well as aligning all stakeholders as is relevant, for their area of responsibility; elevate risks as appropriate.
    • Ensure strict compliance with SHEQ policies, procedures and legislation, to ensure the company's responsibility is met.

    Operations & Project Management

    • Responsible for operational execution of all work for their section, through teams of employees and subcontractors.
    • Ensure that work is executed on time, in full, on standard and first time right, in support of operational goals and targets for their section; keep records on production outputs and produce charts, graphs, and reports.
    • Manages daily production meetings and supply feedback to Senior Superintendent and subordinates on job progress.
    • Check drawings and quantities and ensure that the calculations are accurate for the work.
    • Oversee the selection, requisition, scheduling, and preparation of materials and plant for use in the tailings work; check that the material built into the works is in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Assist with the material usage controls.

    Culture & Climate

    • Ensure a positive work environment is maintained for all internal and subcontracting staff on the site.
    • Build a culture of safety and continuous improvement for the duration of the project.

    Staff Management

    • Ensure good employee relations are maintained i.e.by liaising with labour representatives.

    SHEQ Management

    • Implement a quality management system, quality plan and quality improvementprocess for their section on a construction project.
    • Regularly check materials, ensuring they are according to specifications, drawings and site instructions.

    Technical Management

    • Execute all operations in their section in accordance with the quality and process standards, systems and work methods.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • National Diploma or BTech in Civil /Mining / Metallurgical / Industrial Engineering.

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least 2 to 3 years’ experience working in a tailing’s environment.

    Description

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 5 years of I&T experience, of which at least 3 years in System Engineering.
    • Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot complex I&T infrastructure, with hands-on experience in server setup, configuration, and maintenance.
    • Exposure to project planning and implementation for system integrations and enhancements.
    • Network and security experience is advantageous, as well as prior experience in mining, mining services, or construction environments.

    Multi Skilled Operator (Gauteng)

    Description

    • To assist operations where FEL/ TLB/ Excavator/ ADT/ Grader/ Water Truck are required to make the operating environment safer and more convenient by excavating trenches, cleaning spillages, connecting pipes, and construction of deposition wall and maintenance of access roads.

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    Production Requirements

    • Operation of FEL, TLB Excavator, ADT, Grader and Water Truck to either load, dig, clean trenches or ditch slimes dam and maintenance of access roads and connecting pipes and building of deposition wall.
    • Ensure that relevant SOP’s (Standard operating procedure) for the specific machine is followed at all times.
    • Responsible for general housekeeping of the machine.
    • General inspection of the machine before and after the shift and complete inspection checklist.
    • Adhere to safety rules and regulations.

    Equipment

    • Complete pre-shift inspection report at the beginning of every shift and report all faults and problems to the Supervisor.•Inspect the equipment (machine) and the working area.

    Operator Maintenance

    • Operate and maintain equipment as per OEM operator manual specifications.
    • Check condition of the machine.
    • Always ensure cleanliness of machine.
    • Ensure lubrication as per OEM specifications
    • Maintain fuel levels in the machine.Assist maintenance personnel with tasks when required.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12.
    • Valid MQA accredited (FEL, TLB, Excavator, ADT, Grader, Water Truck) Competency Certificate.

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least 2-3 years relevant work experience in an earthmoving environment.

    PURPOSE

    • Manage divisional Learning and Development budget.

    Employee Relations

    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
    • Assist line to ensure that all employee related matters are handled according to policies and procedures e.g., grievances and disciplinary actions.
    • Union engagements.
    • Represent the Company at the CCMA.

    Customer Relations

    • Work with client areas to build management responsibility and capability for managing ER issues improve the effectiveness of employee consultations.
    • Consult with internal clients to ensure their understanding of HR Compensation and Benefits policies, procedures and decisions.
    • Proactively gain client feedback to support HR specialty areas to improve service levels and alert HR management areas where an issue/project may impact other areas.

    Organisational design

    • Ensure that organisational structure/ organograms are updated and aligned with business requirements.
    • Advise and implement organisational change management.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Relevant Human Resources Honours / Social Science/Industrial Psychology.
    • Registration with the SABPP or/and registration as a psychometrist with the HPCSA will be advantageous.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 8 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
    • Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, organisational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity management, performance management.
    • Solid Working knowledge of labour legislation and knowledge of the Industrial Relations landscape.
    • Proven track record of successful HR Operations delivery.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Knowledge of processes and the general HR disciplines. HR reporting. Project management.
    • HR Best Practice. Ability to measure success or failure of intervention.
    • Negotiations skills. Good leadership skills with ability to interact.

    Assistant General Worker (Northern Cape)

    Description

    • To provide general site assistance and support.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with site teams to support the achievement of operational goals and targets.
    • Assist with daily inspections of the designated area of responsibility, report any deviations or hazards.
    • Support pipeline and valve operations (under supervision).
    • Assist with problem-solving of operational challenges and escalate deviations to site teams.

    ADT Operator (Gauteng)

    Description

    • This position exists for hauling and dumping of required quantity of product/materialto the plant or specified destination using Articulated Dump Truck Machine

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Observe and adhere to general responsibilities
    • Adhere to all employment legislation as amended from time to time
    • Adhere to the requirements of the FAT code of conduct
    • Adhere to all SHEQ-T requirements
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as amended from time to   time
    • Set a high standard of performance by example and behaviour
    • Engage post as a schedule shift worker until relieved by the next shift   worker or as arranged by shift supervisor
    • Attend safety and pre-shift meeting as scheduled
    • Attend training sessions as required

    Production requirements

    • Perform the task of transporting and off-loading of materials as per SOP
    • Avoid driving over objects that can cause damage to tyres or machines
    • Perform tasks for which training has been provided
    • Perform ad-hoc work as and when required

    Equipment

    • Complete pre-shift inspection report at the beginning of every shift and   report all faults and problems to the supervisor

    Operator Maintenance

    • Operate and maintain equipment as per OEM operator manual specifications
    • Check condition of tyres
    • Cleanliness of machine
    • Ensure lubrication as per OEM specifications
    • Maintain fuel levels
    • Assist maintenance personnel with tasks when require

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12 certificate
    • Competency certificate to operate the machine
    • Successful results on Psycho motor practical assessments

    EXPERIENCE

    • 3 years’ experience on earthmoving equipment

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Successful results on Dover assessments
    • Will be required to work overtime or work in dangerous conditions when   required
    • Time management
