    Sales Consultant

    Job description

    Reference number: RES-JD-01 Sales Consultant 2017-10-18

    Department: Sales

    Work location: Building 2, Ashlea Gardens Office Park, 180 Garsfontein Road, Ashlea Gardens, Pretoria, 0081

    Supervisor/Manager: Sales Manager

    Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Assist and support the Sales Manager to execute the sales strategies for local and international markets.
    • Report to Sales Manager driving high sales output and improved results
    • Pursue and grow list of clients, people or companies to be contacted and pursued in terms of potential business
    • Adhere to and reach set sales targets and achievements as determined by the Sales Manager in collaboration with the management team
    • Drive engagement with customers through various channels (meetings, calls, proposals, conferences).
    • Stay up to date with market trends both locally and internationally, implementing best practices in day to day operations and procedures
    • Generate weekly reports on activities, that include reporting on customer visits, customer calls, sales targets and strategies
    • Achieve and/or exceed sales targets
    • Scheduling and planning of customer visits
    • Follow up on sales enquiries
    • Creating and distributing sales quotes and invoices
    • Work with the company’s processes and available tools to report on activities and sales figures
    • Provide quality after sales service, including training and on-site visits
    • Conduct presentations to health care providers, staff, students, government and other interested parties, as and when required (including being available to travel or to be available for industry events in the evening on an ad hoc basis)

    Education and/or work experience requirements:

    • BCom Business Management or related Commerce degree beneficial
    • Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience as a Sales Consultant
    • Audiology experience would be beneficial
    • Team player mentality, being willing to learn
    • Experience in selling niche products
    • Experience in dealing with long sales cycles
    • Excellent administration and organisational skills
    • Experience with Agile CRM will be advantageous
    • Good negotiation skills
    • Be innovative, persuasive and have good networking skills
    • Ability to work with long sales cycles
    • Great attention to detail and grammar
    • Computer Literate (Ms-Excel and Ms-Powerpoint)

    Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Compile and implement sales strategies for local and international markets.
    • Manage sales teams consisting of Business Development Managers and Sales Consultants, ensuring high sales output and improved results
    • Establish client list of people or companies to be contacted and pursued in terms of potential business partners
    • Oversee and train sales teams on relevant processes and oversee sales team’s activities and targets.
    • Collaborate closely with our Marketing Manager to ensure strategic alignment and driving of sales targets.
    • Drive engagement with customers through various channels (meetings, calls, proposals, conferences).
    • Stay up to date with market trends both locally and internationally, implementing best practices in day to day operations and procedures
    • Generate weekly and monthly reports on activities, that include reporting on customer visits, sales targets and strategies.
    • Ensure implementation and control of sales processes with the team
    • Achieve and/or exceed budget expectations.
    • Scheduling and planning of customer visits.
    • Manage sales enquiries by offering accurate quotations, lead times and invoices.

    Education and/or work experience requirements:

    • Minimum BCom Business Management or related Commerce degree
    • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Sales Manager
    • Experience in selling niche products
    • Audiology experience would be beneficial
    • Experience in advocacy, advance selling and lobbying
    • Excellent planning, administration and organisational skills
    • Good negotiation and presentation skills
    • Be innovative, persuasive and have good networking skills
    • Ability to deal with a variety of stakeholders at all levels (audiologists, doctors and government departments)
    • Ability to work with long sales cycles
    • Great attention to detail
    • Computer Literate (Ms-Excel and Ms-Powerpoint)
    • Experience in CRM systems like Sales Force, Agile CRM and Pipe Drive
