    Projects Mechanical Engineer

    Safety

    • Ensures EHS and, Regulatory compliance requirements are adhered to and accurate records are kept with regards to relevant projects.
    • Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) rules and regulations at all times. (e.g.10 critical safety rules and three obligations).
    • Ensure machinery safety standards are adhered to in design scope and that risk assessments are completed for all relevant project machinery.
    • Responsible for contracts and contractor control procedures and rules for relevant projects.
    • Requires understanding of Environmental, legal and KCC statutory requirements.

    Quality

    • Covers all aspects of relevant project best practices.
    • Executes and maintains effective plans within the KCSA PPO system for all relevant projects.
    • Ensures Kimberly Clark stakeholders, customers and end-users are consulted on with design and functionality of equipment.
    • As Key stakeholder, to ensure relevant SANS and procedures are applied.
    • Housekeeping
    • Maintain world class levels of housekeeping according to the 5’s housekeeping standards.

    General

    • Capable of leading and motivating a team setting objectives and driving performance standards.
    • Gives input for the maintenance strategy on the project related. Assets to provide continuous improvement in uptime and yield.
    • Periodic stand-in for the Project Manager.
    • Drives cost transformation initiatives and holds group idea sessions.
    • Minimum Requirements
    • Minimum of a BSc/Btech. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Mechanical Diploma with 10 year experience.
    • Experience in Tissue Manufacturing and or FMCG environment would be advantageous.

    • Ensure that the procedures are known to advice on these activities as part of the process to support business.
    • Identifying and evaluating potential environmental risks and hazards.
    • Providing support to the line organization in respect to environmental aspects and ensuring that the Environmental aspects of the SHE System are being adhered to.
    • Maintaining records of environmental incidents/audits or any other pertinent information that will be the basis for continuous improvement of the system.
    • Facilitating environmental incident investigations and providing advice on resolution and
    • prevention of further incidents
    • Monitoring the compliance of all employees against the company’s environmental
    • procedures and guidelines.
    • Updating on a periodic basis, progress reports to the organization on the company’s
    • environmental performance.
    • Collating and maintaining records of all environmental related measurement activities or
    • Other Related Documentation Required By KCSA Or DEA.
    • Ensuring inputs into all L & D Training Modules.
    • Creating awareness and necessary training of employees on Environmental aspects.
    • Participating, contributing and supporting the EHS Department in its activities across the
    • different disciplines of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, especially during Chemicals spillages / releases and Hazardous materials and ensuring that the company is prepared for environmental incidents in conjunction with the PROTO Team.
    • Departmental Audit findings.
    • Driving and monitoring EHS awareness campaigns.
    • Ensure that all housekeeping issues are addressed.
    • Ensure that all signage and demarcation is visible.
    • MSDS are available for all products on both sites.
    • Responsible for the chemical passport procedure.
    • Management of Waste Management and Certificate of Disposal.
    • Interacting with Management on all accumulated waste on site.
    • Financial Reconciliation of Waste Streams.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12), Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Degree or B-Tech, Basic knowledge on Risk Assessments/investigation.
    • Good understanding and knowledge of KCSA EHS procedures, SAMTRAC certificate.
    • EHS Legislation course.
    • 3 years of experience in the Environmental field.

    Electrical Technician

    Safety

    • Ensure safety job cards are completed by target date.

    Quality

    • Report and correct defective equipment.
    • Check condition monitoring reports.
    • Check shift tech daily check sheets.
    • Ensure no reworks or repeat failures.
    • Exhibit good fault finding skills –standard approach e.g. 4SPS.
    • Ensure all job cards are completed and inputted timeously.

    Housekeeping

    • Maintain world class levels of housekeeping according to the 5’s housekeeping standards.

    Productivity

    • Responsible to execute statutory and KCC equipment maintenance standards.
    • Maintains a wide range of electrical equipment such as paper converting and manufacturing machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics and a wide variety of packaging equipment. 24Vdc to 6600Vac.
    • Work with Electrical team Leaders and Engineers to resolve reliability issues.
    • Ensuring all documentation, including P&IDS and drawings are recorded correctly and systematically to provide optimum reliability of the plant and ease of trouble shooting.
    • Ensure correct allocation of spares from engineering stores.
    • Support operating teams to achieve set KPI’s.
    • Minimum Requirements
    • Trade Tested Electrical / Technician combined with N6 or equivalent tertiary qualification.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Technician in Manufacturing / FMCG environment.
