    Senior Account Manager

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and implement strategic and tactical business plans for Strategic and/or Critical customers within the territory and for all critical projects throughout the year, gaining approval with management and other key internal functional areas.
    • Establish in-depth working customer relationships and manage activities at all levels within Purchasing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Technical, Operations, Finance, and other functional areas as necessary.
    • Prioritize, manage, grow, and forecast opportunities within an innovation funnel in conjunction with internal Sales Operations and Business Unit functions to attain profitable sales growth.
    • Accurately contribute to the volume/sales forecast of existing business based on direct customer input, business intelligence, analysis, and other factors.
    • Implement customer pricing strategy to maximize profits as necessary.
    • Be viewed as a critical contact for McCormick and drive customer penetration through innovation and proactive customer intimacy.
    • Participate in flavour industry related events and associations.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    • BA in Business, Food Science, or related field.
    • 5+ years sales experince, preferably in FMCG industry with international, global companies.
    • South Africa business to business sales experience preferred.
    • Experienced using Salesforce or other similar CRM software. Integrated Business Planning (IBP) experience preferred.
    • Working knowledge of technical aspects of products, i.e. nomenclature, applicability within customer's manufacturing process, substitution choices, new discoveries, etc.
    • Valid Code EB drivers’ licence - travel is required for customer and business meetings.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels and cross functionally (e.g. in contact with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Technical, Operations, Finance teams).
    • Developed and demonstrable critical thinking skills and business acumen.
    • Structured, well organized and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
    • Proven project management skills in a sales cycle from six weeks to eighteen months.
    • Flexible to change and embrace new initiatives.

    Senior Product Development Technologist

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    Product Development:

    • Execute optimization, new product development and cost reduction projects; proactively or in response to Customer Briefs; from Brief to Launch phase On Time In Full (OTIF). 

    Project Management:

    • Manage projects from concept to launch phase, ensuring that the appropriate resources (sensory, research, regulatory, commercial, consumer insights, production and QA) are coordinated to ensure that the action standards of the brief are met and completed successfully.  Provide project and technical updates to support Commercialization to track NPD from concept to launch phase; via the Project Tracker. 

    Customer Interaction:

    • Participate in problem solving activities with customers to unlock technical solutions. Provide active support in the introduction of new products at Customer facilities. Interact with Customers to provide them with technical expertise to accelerate the business’ Customer Intimacy Strategy.

    Administrative Activities:

    • Input formulation development data into SAP RD to ensure development traceability and formulation costing; to allow historic data retrieval.  Provide formulation inputs to Finance for costing and pricing purposes. 
    • Compile HACCP approvals, Ingredient Listings and Nutritional Information to allow QA and Regulatory to facilitate Product Specifications and sign off Safety requirements.

    Sensory Evaluation to support NPD:

    • Participate in internal Sensory Evaluation activities to develop a strong awareness of the sensory attributes of new products and raw materials.  Coordinate internal evaluations of newly developed products to ascertain required modifications.

    Inter-Functional Support:

    • Actively support Supply Chain and QA with technical know-how on NPDs and current product quality maintenance where necessary.  Support Product and Process Implementation (PPI) to execute internal and external trial related activities and monitoring of first production runs.  Collaborate with Consumer Insights to ensure developed concepts and NPDs conform to current Market Insights and trends.  Partner with Sensory Team to maintain ways of working that will guide sensory, shelf-life and consumer research protocols for optimal product development.

    General Support:

    • It may be required from the Senior PDT to complete more general tasks from time to time to support the general business as appropriate.

    External Orientation:

    • Interact with Suppliers and the Industry, through workshops/ seminar attendance, to ensure latest trends and technologies are incorporated into development activities.

    Resource Management:

    • Dynamically manage resources within sub-team
    • Contribute towards continuous improvement of company standards for administration, Health & Safety, GMP and housekeeping in the work environment.
    • Support Raw Materials Technologist(s) with evaluation of new/ alternative raw materials.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    • Education: Diploma/ B-Tech Degree - Food Technology, Biotechnology, B. Sc - Food Science or equivalent qualification
    • Experience: around 5 years of product development experience within an FMGC environment
    • Team Player – ability to interact cross-functionally
    • Self-starter – ability to initiate without being prompted
    • Self-motivating – taking ownership and accountability
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to manage competing priorities

    Performance Manager

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    Create visibility to Loss Data

    • Lead annual Loss Analysis to support site’s OGSM and budget targets
    • Help prioritize loss reduction projects in collaboration with the site leadership team
    • Provide supporting data analysis and justifications for any technology improvements and capital expenditures and feasibility studies
    • Lead site Focused Improvement pillar

    Lead site Data and Analytics

    • Maintain integrity of site data through training, health checks, and change control. Focus includes scorecards, downtime data base, manual tracking systems and SAP master data.
    • Provide analysis and insights to key performance metrics like Process Reliability, Productivity, Yield and Scrap.
    • Collate and publish site scorecard every month.
    • Create and execute site Analytics strategy.
    • Establish scorecard review processes based on the appropriate frequency and participants.
    • Drive data-based decision-making behavior at all levels

    Implement Effective Training systems

    • Coach site employees and SMEs on the methodology and tools:
    • Basic performance data and trends
    • Problem solving
    • Root cause analysis
    • Loss Reduction projects
    • Participate on Training and Development Pillar
    • Create and maintain site training systems

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required
    • Minimum of 5 years working in manufacturing operations
    • Background in Total Productive Maintenance / Lean, Change Management and Organizational Effectiveness
    • Experience in a CPG preferred
    • Team and Operations Leadership experience preferred
    • Familiarity with creating reports using our current (and future) BI tools, e.g. SAP Hana, Tableau
    • Experience analysing complex datasets, generating insights and building robust statistical models.  Should be comfortable working with structured and unstructured data. 
    • Ability to analyse complex information in order to make judgments and decisions. Data intensive - thrives in detail with purpose - does not get paralyzed by analysis.
