    Miner - Wessels Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a Miner, you will be responsible to mine and extract ore according to Mining legislation and regulations .

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Taking charge of the underground blasting operations within the designated area;
    • Ensure the delivery of quality product to the plant;
    • Achieve the daily production targets;
    • Be familiar with the Production process activities, trends and brief operators accordingly at the start of each shift;
    • Collect explosives and accessories, lock up and transport to the face;
    • Transport explosives and accessories by means of a Self-Propelled mobile machine;
    • Handle explosives in the mining environment;
    • Lock up extra or unused explosives and accessories;
    • Monitor and control Blasting accessories stock levels;
    • Organize and control general road maintenance activities.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hard rock mining environment;
    • Underground board and pillar mining (mechanized Mining) experience;
    • Drivers Licence is essential;
    • Competent A & B Certificate  is essential;

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Grade 12 with mathematics for external candidates and Grade 10 for internal candidates;
    • Underground blasting certificate for Metalliferous Mines;

    Safety Officer FTC - Wessels Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a fixed term contract position for 2 years. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible to assist line management in meeting safety, health and environmental standards and implementing safety initiatives in their respective work areas, by verifying compliance to HSE systems during inspections, audits, investigations and leadership interactions and interventions.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Conduct 30, 45- and 90-days legal inspections;
    • Conduct internal audits of the system, process;
    • Follow up and close out all preventative and corrective actions;
    • Update inspection schedule;
    • Monitor compliance to required controls, COP, standards, procedures and applicable legislation;
    • Analyse trends and report to line Managers;
    • Facilitate event investigations and ensure quality outcomes (MTC’s, LTI’s and RWC’s)
    • Assist Chief Safety Officer with DMPR reporting;
    • Investigate and submission of Significant Events, incidents, damages, hazards and complaints;
    • Challenge line on identified gaps (e.g. reporting, Material Risks deviations , Other risks and hazards, etc.);
    • Audit and verify the effective implementation of controls and compliance to legal and other requirements;
    • Assist in the analysis of Safety Statistics Identify specific learning’s relevant to the site and communicate as appropriate;
    • Carry out and participate in Safety Improvement Plans and Safety campaigns.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Safety and Risk Management;
    • In depth knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (Act 29 of 1996),
    • Experience in Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) methodology;
    • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Grade 12;
    • National Diploma in Safety Management (NADSAM);
    • SAMTRAC or COMSOC 1 & 2 certificates;
    • Valid drivers license

    Artisan Assistant - Mamatwan Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As an Artisan Assistant, you will be responsible for safely assisting artisans with mobile machine maintenance and breakdowns. Compliance to all applicable procedures is essential.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Assist artisan with the daily maintenance and inspections;
    • Basic use of hand tools;
    • Apply health, safety and housekeeping standard;
    • Participate in investigations into workplace incidents,
    • Report any unsafe behaviour, conditions and incidents to the responsible person;
    • Conduct pre-use inspections, routine inspections and report defects;
    • Conduct risk assessment before all tasks and identify risks and hazards;
    • Keep all equipment clean and in a good condition all the time.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 2 year’s experience in a maintenance environment;
    • In depth knowledge of Surface Mining Principles advantageous;
    • Experience in mobile machine maintenance.

    Qualifications for this role are:.

    • Grade 12 with mathematics;
    • N2 Technical Certificate advantageous;
    • Valid drivers license.

    Supervisor Maintenance Electrical - Mamatwan Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a Supervisor Maintenance Electrical, you will be responsible to lead an electrical maintenance team within an Operation and ensures that planned maintenance activities on the plant and equipment under your assigned accountability area are safely executed in line with the care strategy.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Maintain health, safety and housekeeping within the internal environment;
    • Conduct electrical inspections;
    • Analyze and solve electrical problems;
    • Do faultfinding on Medium/High voltage networks;
    • Maintain unit protection on electrical equipment;
    • Attend to callouts with regards to electrical breakdowns;
    • Wire and commission three phase electrical circuits;
    • Supervise electrical team;
    • Initiate electrical drawings;
    • Sets goals for maintenance improvement through establishing KPI’s.

    ABOUT YOU:
     
    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in maintenance of which at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity;
    • SAP knowledge;

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Grade 12;
    • N3 Technical Certificate;
    • Valid Electrical Trade Test;
    • Valid drivers license.

    Engineer Reliability - Richards Bay

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.  As an Engineer Reliability, the purpose of the role is to provide specialist advice and ensure asset integrity is managed and maintained over the life cycle of the assets; maintain a healthy asset integrity plan that actively addresses asset integrity, obsolescence, and end-of-life of assets; inform the capital plan for asset replacement strategy and asset improvement; and to ensure that changes to equipment and plant follows the set change management process.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Establish and ensure adherence to systems, processes and standards for the maintenance of dynamic / life cycle data relating to assets and asset systems
    • Establish and maintain systems and processes that ensure application of reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) concepts and design requirements for new and existing assets.
    • Establish and maintain systems and processes that manage asset and asset systems risk due to unreliability as related to health, safety, environment, operations, quality, regulatory compliance and cost.
    • Create and maintain total cost of ownership models in order to identify low reliability, high maintainability assets / components / tasks, initiate improvement projects where required.
    • Responsible for the development of all asset care plans, corrective task lists and work instructions for assets and assets systems prior to commissioning.
    • Provide relevant and specialised technical support, where required, to peers and colleagues to ensure the achievement of objectives.
    • Create and maintain total cost of ownership models in order to identify low reliability, high maintainability   assets / components / tasks, initiate improvement projects;
    • Evaluate asset investment proposals, preliminary design concepts, system engineering block diagrams and  uses RAM Analysis to provide total cost of ownership models.
    • Actively participate in the Hillside Safety Strategy by identifying workplace hazards, participating in risk assessment and conducting workplace safety engagement

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 4 – 6 years’ experience in a Heavy Industry/Mining within Maintenance of Mechanical Plant Equipment
    • 2 Years and more experience in Analysis and Improvement is advantageous
    • Experience   is essential
    • Experience in Root Cause Analysis and various other Analytical Techniques is advantageous
    • Experience working on SAP is advantageous.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Degree / BTECH or National Diploma in Mechanical , Electrical and Industrial Engineering
