    Purpose of Role:

    • To work with Blast, Paint systems and various tools for the completion of product to drawing specifications.
    • Receive shot blasted metal parts and Spray according to set standards

    • Identify workload and refer to job card and shotblast lower level(Metals)
    • Able to read drawings and manage stock levels
    • Spray paint parts that was prepped by you before hand
    • Using of lifting equipment to prepare the lower levels
    • Manage and prioritize all work responsibilities

    Support:

    • Report any irregularities to the team leader
    • Report any unsafe conditions to the shift leader

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

    • Matric Grade 12 or N3 equivalent.
    • 1 years’ experience working with spray painting equipment would be an added advantage.

    Operator: Press

    Purpose of Role:

    • To load rubber and metal in moulds and place in press machines in order to produce molded parts according to set specification

    • Provide quality part to the finishing area

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    Expeditor


    Purpose of Role:  

    • Facilitating the flow of materials to and from various work sites , vendors or departments. Working with vendors to secure that goods are delivered on time in accordance to customer and OE production requirements. Responsible for both quality and quantity of supply.

    Draughtsperson: Advanced

    Purpose of Role:

    • The position is responsible for the design of Comminution & bulk material handling systems, primarily focused on Trio & Enduron products. Design would be focused on structural steelwork/platework in order to complete modular skid support structures & conveyors etc. Position also requires the creation general arrangement and manufacturing drawings which translate the customer’s requirement into a physical solution.
    • The role also provides technical support to the sales team and problem solving to all production related activities.

    Safety First:

    Design: 

    • Use of Tekla software at an advanced level to develop 3D models, assemblies, general arrangement drawings and manufacturing drawings. All work to be done timeously, with a focus on safety and quality.
    • Produce practical, functional and safe designs that are of a structural and mechanical nature.
    • Manage CAD and project data within the PLM software (Teamcenter).

    Support:

    • Provide technical support to Sales team to assist with tenders and customer queries.
    • Provide technical support to third part fabricators and in-house production team. Primarily, resolving design issues timeously to keep projects on track.
    • Provide technical support to other company departments as required.
    • Manage and prioritize all work responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Use 3D scanner for on-site scanning & process scan data using scanning software.
    • Travel to site, in Africa and the Middle East, to take site measurements & perform 3D scanning for retro-fit opportunities (valid passport required).

    Development:

    • Contribute to the ongoing development of Weir products.
    • Drive initiatives to improve products, internal processes and best practices.
    • Work within the Comminution & ETO team(s) to share knowledge and experiences to assist in growing the capability of the team and its members.
    • Work within engineering team to ensure designs adhere to Weir Product Stewardship requirements.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

    • N5 in Engineering Studies - NQF level 6 (Desired).
    • 5 years’ experience as a draughtsperson/designer in a manufacturing, mechanical, mining, energy or mineral process equipment environment with extensive experience in structural and plant design/modelling/draughting.
    • 3 years’ experience in the mining industry.
    • Extensive experience in the use of 3D structural modelling/draughting software (Tekla Structures, Advance Steel etc).
    • Experienced in the use of other 3D mechanical draughting software (Inventor, Solid Works, Siemens NX, etc)
    • Experienced in the use of 2D CAD software (AutoCad etc).
    • Experienced with the use of a PLM software (Siemens Teamcenter, Autodesk Vault, etc.) (Desired)

    • Customer support: providing world-class customer and technical support to clients with a high level of professionalism. Conduct sales calls and deliver impactful technical product presentations, demos and trials that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition. Travel extensively in the region to sell into new prospects, as well as farming back into existing customers. Submit quotations, tenders (where applicable), technical data, drawings and relevant information to customers within a reasonable period.
    • Sales growth: Grow product installed base in region through upselling and cross-selling new products and services. Providing equal attention to established customers as to growing new business.
    • Strategy: Gather market intelligence on customers and competitors to help identify and develop new markets, sales strategy and support accurate forecasting.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • National Diploma (Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering) or any equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 3 years’ related technical sales experience in a minerals processing equipment / mining environment
    • Valid Driver’s licence – extensive travel to mining locations within the region is required
    • Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite, CRM e.g. Salesforce (ERP Software e.g. SAP is advantageous)
    • Understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Integrated Solutions
    • Proven sales track record
    • Technical report writing experience
    • You will be a proactive, confident and self-motivated individual that takes pride in the quality of work you deliver with the ability to work under pressure. You should possess solid communication, presentation, technical selling and negotiation skills, business acumen and exceptional customer relationship building skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and honour customer commitments. You should also have the ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner.
