Job Description

During the 12-month B-BBEE internship, you will be rotated to gain exposure and contribute across the five B-BBEE pillars, i.e. [1] Ownership and Equity Equivalent Investment Program (EEIP), [2] Management Control, [3] Preferential Procurement, Enterprise Development and Supplier Development, [4] Skills Development, and [5] Socio-Economic Development. You will be required to contribute to the development and implementation of B-BBEE initiatives across the pillars, monitor and report on progress against targets and goals, and collate evidence for B-BBEE reporting and audits.

Education And Qualification / Skills
Basic Qualifications

• Degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration or Social Development
• Basic knowledge of B-BEE legislation, including the DTI Codes of Good Practice
• Advanced MS Excel and MS Word skills
• Financial acumen

Competencies

• You should not only be passionate about delivering meaningful transformation solutions but obsessed with rigorous goal-setting and continuous process improvement.
• Ability to access and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and assess risks is critical.
• Strong communication and excellent organizational skills

Description
As a Solutions Architect Intern, you will receive deep dive training in modern infrastructure design and management. Training opportunities will include comprehensive training programs, with opportunities to achieve industry-respected certifications. Throughout the placement, you will be exposed to relevant real-world challenges of different organizations.

If successful, you will design, evaluate and communicate reference technical solutions in partnership with veteran AWS Solutions Architects and AWS Account Managers. The ability to demonstrate measurable business value against the latest technology best practices and ability to reason about both high- and low-levels of architectural solutions is essential for a future career in IT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare answers and designs for real-world technical questions and challenges in collaboration with Solutions Architects
• Shadow phone conversations and face to face meetings between Solutions Architects and AWS customers
• Produce a deliverable project for an AWS customer that involves building solutions in the AWS platform
   

Basic Qualifications

• Currently working towards a degree in computer science or relevant subject
• Basic understanding of computing, storage, networking, scripting
• Passions for technology as demonstrated by your projects and interests
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Ownership of personal or educational technical projects
• Basic experience in Database, Developer Tools, Big Data, IoT areas

Description

Would you like to influence cloud computing adoption in South Africa Public Sector (Government, Education and Non-Profit verticals)? Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services by engaging with worldwide public sector organizations who are reinventing their IT strategy by adopting cloud computing? Do you have the business savvy, public sector industry experience and the technical background necessary to help further establish Amazon as a leading cloud platform provider?
As the Business Development Pursuit Manager for Amazon Web Services (AWS) focusing on the Public Sector technology markets in South Africa, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind-share and broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services (Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS and other AWS services).
Your broad responsibilities will include working with the internal AWS Public Sector team to develop and oversee bid strategies, shape and influence solicitations, support new business development, pricing, teaming, proposal strategies and help with written RFx proposals (e.g. Tenders, RFPs, Framework Contracts) for South Africa public sector. The Pursuit Manager will work with the AWS account and partner sales teams, along with our engineering teams, to close strategic business at a rapid rate across the public sector.

The ideal candidate will possess appropriate experience, have prior pursuit or business development management experience identifying, shaping and responding to RFx opportunities and developing innovative technical solutions. The candidate will possess industry background that enables them develop win themes and technical discriminators and ability to communicate effectively with technical leaders, software developers, architects and business leaders. He/she needs demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions.

The candidate must know government & Public Sector acquisition guidelines and have experience with government RFx compliance requirements. Serve as a key member of the AWS South African Public Sector team supporting business strategy and new business development, identifying and responding to RFx opportunities. Identify, manage and execute the RFx proposal response plans while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.). Develop win themes, technical discriminators, and innovative strategies working with AWS stakeholders specific to RFx opportunities. Understand and navigate government contracting vehicles and procedures. Be a thought leader with respect to program pursuit, proposal responses, win themes, technical discriminators, solutions providers and pricing.


Basic Qualifications

• Significant business development and/or sales experience
• Extensive IT and or Commercial/ Public Sector proposal capture management experience identify and leading competitive procurement
• Substantial exposure to complex deal management and pre-sales experience
• Excellent communicator who can quickly earn the respect of the team and customers
• University Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent degree
• Excellent communication and writing skills, and be both technical and analytical
• Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through
• Must have a good understanding of government procurement and government contract vehicles
• Must have the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
