    Operator GR2

    Job Description:

    As our Operator Gr2 your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    Safety, Health, and Environment

    • Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is used and maintained according to safety regulations.
    • Follow SHE standards when performing any work and read, sign off and adhere to all appropriate work instructions and standards.
    • Attend safety meetings as instructed and keep the allocated area clean and hazard-free by applying good housekeeping practices.
    • Always correctly apply HIRA/Mini HIRA and report safety and health-related issues.
    • Ensure that work practices do not harm others and take all necessary safety precautions when working on production equipment.

    Performance and Delivery

    Cleaning the Work Area:

    • Maintain good housekeeping standards by keeping the work area clean and organised.
    • Use appropriate tools and materials to clean equipment thoroughly.
    • Ensure that cleaning activities are performed beyond the allocated area, as required.
    • Clean safety signs and equipment regularly to ensure they are visible, legible, and fit for use.
    • Collect spillage material, sort it, and dump it at designated areas to prevent contamination and pollution.
    • Store tools not used in designated places and keep them clean.
    • Clean equipment and associated components continuously per work instructions to maintain optimal performance.
    • Restore the work area to its original state by cleaning it before leaving.
    • Perform housekeeping in the Plant area.

    Assistance:

    • Assist the supervisor and co-workers.

    Technical Knowledge

    Facilities Clerk

    Job Description:

    As our Facilities Clerk your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    Safety. Health, and Environment

    • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
    • Maintain good housekeeping in work areas to support a controlled and safe working environment.

    Performance and Delivery

    Planning and Scheduling:

    • Plan and schedule daily and weekly tasks related to Facilities Management to ensure smooth operational flow.
    • Track, prioritise and confirm allocated job cards to support the timely completion of tasks.
    • Monitor progress on facilities-related activities and escalate delays or risks as needed.
    • Prepare and submit weekly deviation reports and follow up on outstanding actions.

    Facilities Administration (Operational & SAP):

    • Maintain effective administrative systems, logs and registers to support facilities operations.

    • Ensure proper documentation for facilities maintenance, inspections, service provider engagements and operational records.

    Customer Services:

    • Respond to customer queries professionally and provide timely feedback to ensure effective resolution.
    • Conduct regular follow-ups with internal customers, service providers and contractors to close out issues and ensure no repeat queries.
    • Maintain a customer-centric approach by understanding client needs and ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
    •  Escalate challenges or recurring issues to the Facilities Coordinator to support continuous improvement.

    Document Control:

    • Process, register, and route documents according to company document control standards.
    • Maintain clear and orderly electronic and physical filing systems for easy retrieval.
    • Ensure version control is monitored and documents are updated and ready for audits or inspections.

    Time Management & Reporting:

    • Assist with accurate timekeeping administration and ensure daily and weekly submissions are correct.

    Support the Team:

    • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Facilities Coordinator and other team members.

    This role is in the Commercial (CML) department on a Band A5 (B4/B5) level reporting to the Facilities Coordinator.

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Relevant Administrative Qualification on NQF4.

    Technical Knowledge

    • 1–2 years’ experience performing administrative duties in a facilities, transport, logistics or mining environment.
    • Practical knowledge of planning and scheduling facilities tasks, tracking job cards, and monitoring progress of operational activities.
    • Working knowledge of SAP for processing Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), reservations and service entries.
    • Familiarity with office logistics, contractor access processes, and coordination of facilities-related activities.

    Specialist Resource Estimation Geologist

    Job Description:

    As our Specialist Resource Estimation Geologist your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    Mining Operation and Resource Reporting Cycles:

    • Adhere to all safety, health and environmental practices and requirements.
    • Mining Operation/Project Planning Cycle: Establish and maintain a comprehensive and validated borehole database. Generate representative geological solids models and develop detailed long-term geological block models to inform strategic mine planning for operational and project-based contexts.
    • Resource and Reserve Reporting Cycle: Compile and prepare comprehensive Mineral Resource Reports annually, accurately representing the Mineral Resources of mining operations/projects. Ensure adherence to Kumba and Anglo-American Resource and Reserve reporting standards in compliance with the SAMREC Code.

    Business Systems Management:

    • Produce relevant outputs and documents for utilisation by supervisors and team members, ensuring clarity and accessibility of information.
    • Oversee system access management and implement necessary document edits to maintain operational efficiency.
    • Design, implement, and continually enhance data and model archival processes to ensure the integrity and accessibility of geological data.

    Borehole Data Management:

    • Rigorously check and validate data received from the exploration team to ensure accuracy and reliability.
    • Establish a systematic feedback loop with the exploration team regarding validation findings, promoting continuous improvement in data quality.

    Geological Interpretation and Analysis:

    • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of local geology, ore genesis, and tectonostratigraphic relationships by consulting relevant solids and block models and collaborating with Exploration and Production Geologists.
    • Conduct in-depth analyses of all pertinent geological data to inform and refine geological block models, ensuring they meet business requirements.

    Solids Modelling:

    • Develop and update three-dimensional solids models based on the latest validated exploration data, ensuring that models accurately reflect the current geological understanding.
    • Guarantee that solids models are 100% compliant with exploration data, correctly positioned spatially, and devoid of gaps or overlaps between modelled domains.
    • Prioritize business and project planning timelines to deliver geological block models efficiently. Enhance modelling processes to enable dynamic ore body modelling through representative solutions (e.g., RMSP).
    • Maintain ongoing and robust interactions with the Metallurgy and long-term mine planning teams to communicate any geological model changes that may affect Mineral Resources, Mineral Reserves, and the Life of Mine (LOM) calculations.

    Resource Modelling:

    • Execute comprehensive geostatistical processes to create and update geological models as per business needs, including Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), variography, Quantitative Neighbourhood Analysis (QKNA), grade estimation, model validation, and geological confidence classification.
    • Conduct formal reviews to present key geological findings and model changes to the Geosciences leadership team, emphasising the identification of opportunities to create value through enhanced geological block model insights.
    • Ensure practical spatial reconciliation of geological block models with previous iterations, facilitate clear communication of changes, and maintain alignment with the value chain of geological modelling clients.

    Mineral Resource Reporting:

    • Engage in the Mineral Resource reporting process for Kumba Iron Ore as required, contributing to high-quality reports.
    • Accurately extract and tabulate Mineral Endowment data from geological block models, adhering to relevant business constraints to populate Kumba and Anglo-American Mineral Resource reporting templates.
    • Compile comprehensive Mineral Endowment statements for mining operations/projects, ensuring compliance with the company’s Resource and Reserve reporting standards.
    • Upon achieving the necessary competencies defined by the SAMREC Code, provide attestations for Mineral Resource estimates before peers and undertake sign-offs as a Competent Person on Mineral Endowment statements.

    Time Management and Accountability:

    • Ensure all deliverables meet established deadlines and maintain a high-quality standard.
    • Take ownership of all deliverables, ensuring transparency and responsibility in reporting progress and results.

    Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

    This role is in Technical & Strategy (T&S) department on a Band 6 (D4/D5) level reporting to the Principal Geodata.

    Qualifications:

    • Post-graduate qualification in the geostatistical field is preferred
    • Member of SACNASP or other recognised professional organisations

    Junior Hydrogeologist

    Job Description:

    As our Junior Hydro-Geologist ,your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Consistently apply safety and health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
