JOB PURPOSE

• The purpose of a Quality Control Checker is to conduct quality checks on branded garments and verify whether it is aligned with the requirements of the job card as well as company standards.

JOB OBJECTIVES

Quality check samples

• Review swatch and samples and verify if it is branded according to job card specifications.
• Escalate to supervisor in case of discrepancy.

Quality inspection of branded goods

• Conduct random quality audits on branded items as production is running. Escalate quality issues to QC supervisor.

Fold and Repack

• Responsible for folding samples neatly.
• Responsible for repacking and sealing samples in the correct boxes.

QUALIFICATION

• Grade 11 / 12

Job Description

• The Apparel/Large Format Sublimation Seamstress is responsible for constructing, altering, repairing, and customizing a wide range of clothing items or large-format fabric projects.
• This role requires proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and understanding various fabrics and their properties. The seamstress works closely with print and cut machine operators, and supervisors to interpret job cards and to ensure the quality and accuracy of finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

Sewing Operations:

• Operate industrial sewing machines and other equipment to sew garments or large-format fabric projects according to specifications.
• Perform various sewing techniques such as stitching, hemming and attaching fasteners.
• Ensure accuracy in cutting fabric pieces based on patterns or designs.
• Handle delicate fabrics and materials with care to prevent damage during the sewing process.

Alterations and Repairs:

• Conduct alterations and repairs on existing garments or large-format fabric items, including resizing, replacing zippers, and fixing tears or seams.

Quality Control:

• Inspect finished products for quality defects, ensuring seams are straight, stitches are secure, and overall construction meets established standards.
• Address any issues or discrepancies identified during quality checks, making necessary adjustments or repairs.

Maintenance and Safety:

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work area, including sewing machines, tools, and supplies.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines when operating machinery to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on sewing equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Skill and Experience:

• Proven experience as a seamstress in apparel or large-format projects, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
• Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and familiarity with various sewing techniques.
• Knowledge of different types of fabrics, their properties, and appropriate handling methods.
• Attention to detail and precision in executing sewing tasks to achieve high-quality finished products.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of garment construction principles and sewing patterns.

• The purpose of the Showroom Assistant role is to provide a professional and welcoming experience for all visitors and customers. The incumbent will assist customers with product-related queries, orders, online purchases, and electronic payments while ensuring efficient communication and coordination with relevant internal departments.

• Welcome and assist visitors and customers in a professional and friendly manner.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Showroom Assistant, Receptionist, Customer Service Assistant or in a similar customer-facing role will be advantageous.
