    Claims Supervisor

    FEM is looking to appoint a Claims Supervisor to support the Johannesburg branch claims section and to ensure that the claims are administrated and processed in accordance with the (Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act) COID Act and FEM’s standard operating procedures.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for correctly administering claims and the acceptance of liability. The candidate will be guiding, directing, and ensuring operational delivery for the Claims team to achieve agreed goals and results. Furthermore, the candidate will provide service excellence by ensuring claims turnaround times are met. Similarly, to supervise staff which includes training and development of Medical Claims Administrators.

    The minimum requirements of the position are a B degree in Nursing or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years prior work experience in a clinical or multi-disciplinary life and disability claims environment and at least 2 years’ experience as a Team Leader with performance management experience.
    Further requirements are knowledge of the COID Act, good computer skills, the ability to work within strict deadlines and in a highly pressurised environment, reliability, and excellent communication complete our requirements.

    We have offices regionally in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. This position will be located in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

    Database Administrator

    Applications are invited for the Database Administrator position to join our IT team. The purpose of the position is to assist with the installation, maintenance and backup of the databases used in FEM including Oracle, SQL Server, and Cosmos amongst others. The successful candidate will be supporting the databases supporting our applications and support of data integration solutions.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Assisting with supporting, maintaining databases supporting applications and supporting data integration solutions
    • Responding appropriately to emergency technical support situations and produce quick and effective solutions to business problems
    • Monitoring and maintaining existing databases and alerts in multiple environments
    • Assisting with writing of updating database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary
    • Ensuring storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures function correctly to ensure no loss of data on the databases
    • Participating in an on-call rotation, after-hours schedule, & have flexible hours
    • Assisting with database backup, support, tuning and changes
    • Participating with testing, upgrades, and best practices before implementation
    • Performing other database related duties as required

    Minimum requirements for the position are:

    • Matric with good functional literacy
    • 3-years or more experience with the required database technologies
    • A related 3-year qualification or certification in the required field
    • Experience with Operating System installation and scripting or programming as appropriate would be beneficial
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Medical Claims Administrator

    Job Description

    FEM is looking to appoint a Medical Claims Administrator in our Durban Branch Claims Department. The overall objective of the position is to ensure that all registered claims are assessed and administered efficiently and effectively in terms of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.

     The minimum requirements of the position are a matric with a minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in a related environment and the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate experience as well as the ability to speak more than one language.
     
    The position requires the incumbent to have functional computer literacy, good literacy, and numeracy skills as well as an excellent performance track record. Knowledge of the COID Act and workman's compensation will be a distinct advantage. Excellent customer focus, the ability to work in a highly pressurised environment, quality orientation, reliability and excellent communication complete our requirements.
     
    We have offices regionally in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. The Durban branch is based in Umhlanga.

    Systems Engineer

    FEM is looking to appoint Systems Engineer to implement, secure, maintain and support FEM's IT infrastructure within defined best practices and company guidelines which includes end user support within the environment.

    The main objective is to ensure that FEM’s IT environment runs smoothly. This would include all hardware such as computing devices such as PCs, Laptops, Servers as well as other devices in our environment such as video conferencing, biometrics, and other hardware.

    The software environment would include all operating systems and both packaged software and internally developed software. We run in a cloud environment this would include monitoring, maintaining maintaining and managing the services in the cloud environment.

    The minimum requirement of the position is a 3-year related Computer Science, or an equivalent related qualification coupled with at least 5 years’ experience in below:

    • Azure AD and Active Directory
    • Antivirus Support - Sophos and others
    • LAN and WAN Infrastructure – including APN/VPN/Routers/Switches and others
    • Network Security – Firewall (Sophos and/or Palo Alto), IDS/IPS
    • Internet/Intranet support both hardware and software
    • Server Infrastructure and Operating Systems – Microsoft predominant
    • Server Services – Application Support – Installation, troubleshooting
    • Remote support Desktop and Server
    • Disaster Recovery – testing and implementation
    • Software and Patch Distribution – Microsoft predominately
    • Data Backup & Restoration – Veam and Azure specifically
    • Virtualisation – Azure, Hyper-V
    • Infrastructure Security Administration
    • Client devices and printing support
