    SHE Officer

    Job Description

    • Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant as a SHE Officer.
    • This role primarily involves overseeing Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental concerns, Safety Training, and Security at the Plant.
    • Successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment, including at least 3 years in Security within an industrial or manufacturing setting, preferably in the FMCG sector.
    • Candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of project planning and execution, as well as budget management.
    • Adherence to all Safety & Health policies, procedures, and legislation is essential. Fluency in English and computer literacy are required.

    Required Skills

    • A National Diploma/Degree or any related qualification in Safety Management.
    • Proof of completed training in the following will be advantageous: SAMTRAC, ITIS, SCAT (Incident Investigation), HIRA, HACCP, SHE Rep, First Aid, Fire Fighting — or at least a working knowledge of these areas.
    • At least 3 year’s experiences within the fields of Occupational Health and Safety, Training and gained in an industrial or manufacturing environment

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Ensuring that all legal documentation is maintained up to date and available
    • All SHE training requirements are satisfied, whether the training is done internally or externally
    • Liaise with all role-players to ensure that communication with regards to SHE concerns and issues are identified and addressed within suitable timeframes
    • Required to act as support during safety meetings and will play an active role in conducting presentations to management and staff
    • Ensure that monthly safety communication is done timeously
    • Actively participate in ensuring that Risk Assessment documentation is brought up to date for the relevant facilities
    • Familiarizes themselves with the requirements of the Corporate Guideline and its requirements and will work towards ensuring that all role-players are aware of their responsibilities in terms of this system
    • Ensure that contractors comply with ALL requirements of the Contraction Regulations
    • Ensure that Induction, Safety training and medical surveillance records are available and up to date

    Production Coordinator (Spreads)

    Job Description

    • Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Spreads department with the main responsibilities will include analyse production results on a continuous basis with the aim to meet or better the goals on quality, volume, productivity, OEE and seconds per kilograms.
    • Ensure that set departmental goals and focus points are known to your team through daily and monthly meetings.
    • Successful candidates need to have at least 5 – 6 years' relevant experiences n dairy industry environment and at least 5 years experiences in a supervisory role and knowledge of complex equipment. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

    • Manage the overall SOS and Spreads, planning and people management.
    • Drive all action plans, follow up on completion dates and push where targets are not met. (Quality) (Safety) (Sec per kg) (Volumes increase)
    • Monitor pragma weekly to identify long outstanding job cards and monitor to see if there are job cards missing.
    • Do weekly and monthly Safety Inspections, take immediate action where necessary and stop unsafe equipment. Must be done in detail. Ask for clarity if not clear.
    • Weekly and Monthly Quality inspections to be done, take immediate action where Quality could cause harm to product or environment. Must be done in detail
    • Monitor MBU`s, update and life with detail of what went wrong or well.
    • Rack inspections, all racks safe to use and not rusted. Demarcation visible and readable.
    • Daily door inspections are they closed at all time and in good operating state.
    • Monitor bulk chemicals, is Acid diluted and no leaks and area is clean. Monitor CIP system on the lines
    • Monitor product and packaging quality on all production lines in Process Spreads and SOS.
    • Be involve each morning during sensory evaluation on all product of Process plant. Block product not on standard.
    • Check on specific Quality control areas on the lines, Dud detectors, sanitising sprayers, cheese rejection on SOS and Spreads, chlorine water ppm, sanitizing units, temperatures on lines.
    • Monitor cleaning equipment, in good usable order and needy stored on trolleys. Make sure the teams have suffusion cleaning equipment. Ensure protocols and procedures are followed.
    • Air handling units to be taken off and cleaned every 3 months. (Blue Socks)
    • Chiller room outside mould to be cleaned, clean inside and as empty as possible. No rejected or expired stock inside.
    • Spiral chiller to be cleaned inside and outside on a weekly base and temperature monitoring during production
    • Chemical room must be cleaned organised and locked at every moment of the day.
    • Monitor waste area, organised and clean at all times.
    • Set up daily weekly shift patterns. On time so people know where they will work in what period of time.
    • Handle HR related hearings and Queries.
    • Monitor and arrange cleaning of filters in the roof.
    • Daily, weekly stock take, be involve in counts and explanations etc. Be involve in managing the yields.
    • Cross inspection in respective areas on a weekly base.
    • No person outside the plant with the same shoes as what they were inside, Also no white jackets outside.
    • Secondary packing must be need at all times, organised with no unneeded items on the floor.
    • All liquids to be in the correct holder and to be demarcated to state what liquid is inside the container.
    • Foreign body inspection on a weekly base. Hand in or identify any critical objects such as blades, needles, glass etc.
    • Check for Garlic Lemon Juice, is all in speck to use. Check on a daily base.
    • All people to wear the correct PPE at every given time. Order when needed.
    • Monitor raw material for traceability, demarcation in place on all product.
    • Monitor the recipe`s to check if people work according to specifications.
    • No untrained personal allowed to work on any equipment. Schedule training where to fill the acting pool so you will have enough trained people.
