    Distribution Controller

    Introduction

    • To assist the operations manager with day-to-day management and execution of the branch operations, including responsibility for inventory, OH&S, contractor management, elements of logistics and customer service. Monitor, manage and review outsourced business partner SLA, policies and procedures, suggest necessary operational decisions to operations manager. Oversee all distribution and delivery activities of the depot from induction points to receiver on behalf of all our clients within agreed time, operating procedures, at the lowest cost.

    •  Manage all product distribution, media and non-media, including Informal trade network, Door to door delivery’s subscription delivery and Retail in a specified area within a geographical area
    •  Proactively plan and enforce compliance to deliver a high level of service.
    •  Ensure an efficient and cost-effective distribution network by playing a leading role in dynamic route planning projects to optimise area cost and service
    •  Directly manage distribution through disciplined and well trained contractors
    •  Appoint contractors within agreed standards and within the company’s rules and approved remuneration structures.
    •  Communicate all relevant policies
    •  Daily, Weekly and monthly measuring of contractor compliance and Reporting.
    •  Resolve any escalated issues from Service centre and ensure feedback within agreed turnaround times.
    •  Lead the approach to resource planning, optimisation and management in order to utilise networks across OtD in order to improve efficiency
    •  Manage area within agreed budget and efficiency projects and targets
    •  Direct reports are recruited, assessed, trained and resource achieves optimum performance within budget.
    •  Problems are identified proactively, root causes identified speedily and practical steps are taken to prevent the recurrence of such problems.

    Minimum requirements

    • Matric or equivalent
    • Previous experience in managing SLAs and external contractors;
    • Knowledge of distribution principles;
    • Knowledge of inventory management;
    • Valid driver’s license at least code EB;
    • Knowledge of operating systems/applications( Qlikcloud, SCM, Shiplogic)

    Operations Supervisor

    Introduction.

    • Main Purpose of the Role: Overall responsibility for operational and cost efficiency, compliance and continuous improvement in support of line of business managers.

    Job description

    • Lead a team of warehouse staff and warehouse workload - ensuring that that work is being performed according to picking plan and SOP.
    • Effectively delegate work to team with clearing defined deadlines in order to manage workflow within the warehouse.
    • Monitor and allocate outstanding orders including:
    • Collections
    • Courier orders
    • Local outstanding deliveries and collections
    • Agent/3rd party outstanding deliveries and collections
    • Ensure effective communication of established procedures and regulations within the warehouse according to SOP and Health and Safety act.
    • Ensure checking takes places for all orders.
    • Correct any discrepancies after checking has taken place.
    • Assist in monitoring your team so that they comply with the Occupations Health and Safety Act within the warehouse.
    • Take full responsibility for the continuous development of leadership capability by growing leadership skills and knowledge, as well as participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations etc.
    • This also includes participating in all leadership focused training and development initiatives presented by the company.
    • Take full responsibility for performance management of all direct reports, managing their performance in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives.
    • This entails motivating, inspiring and supporting employees to drive high morale within team.

    • Ensure team adherence to relevant policies and procedures.

    Minimum requirements

    • Grade 12
    • 2 year’s experience in logistics/courier.
    • Proven experience leading a successful team.
    • Experience in people, financial, systems and business management.
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of business processes, systems and IT management (technology platforms)

    • Novus Print: Paarden Eiland is currently seeking to appoint a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Representative to drive growth across our paper bag manufacturing portfolio. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and maintaining partnerships with our existing customer base. The successful incumbent will report to the Operations Manager.

    Job description

    • Achieve and exceed sales targets across designated product categories
    • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the packaging and paper bag market
    • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
    • Manage and grow an existing client portfolio while delivering exceptional customer service
    • Prepare and present tailored proposals, quotations, and presentations
    • Negotiate and close deals, ensuring smooth execution of contracts
    • Provide accurate weekly and monthly sales reports and forecasts
    • Understand client needs and deliver innovative packaging solutions

    Minimum requirements

    • Degree or diploma in Sales and Marketing or related tertiary qualification.
    • At least five years’ field sales experience.
    • Proven Experience in the packaging industry (paper bag products essential) 
    • Experience in sales of newspapers/retail pamphlets or similar printed products will be advantageous
    • Valid Driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
    • National travel is required.

    Reelstand Operator

    Introduction

    • Novus Print Paarden Eiland is seeking to appoint a diligent Reelstand Operator within the Press department, to ensure the accurate preparation of reels. The successful incumbent will report to the Shift Leader – Press.

    Job description

    • Ensure correct paper size and grammage complies with specifications
    • Preparation of reels and loading of paper web up
    • Responsible for the ordering, handling and scanning of paper reels 
    • Ensure accurate administration related to paper reels 
    • Mounting and removal of printing plates on the press
    • Assist with maintenance, paper breaks and change overs on the press
    • Management of excess paper and prevention of spoilage 
    • Assist on the press when required
    • Adherence to safety procedures and operational maintenance
    • Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained

    Minimum requirements

    • Matric or equivalent with mathematics or mathematical literacy as a passed subject
    • Minimum of 2 years’ industry related experience as a Reelstand Operator or within a similar role 
    • Knowledge of various printing press’– Advantageous
    • Flexibility to work shifts and long hours
