- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that customer requirements are met and solutions are delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business and grow existing veterinary accounts within Gauteng.
- Undertake regular sales trips to North West and Free State to visit existing customers, develop new business and grow companies presence in these areas.
- Plan and manage customer visits and sales trips effectively to maximise opportunities within the allocated territories.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer account management matters.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Develop trusted relationships with key customers, stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
- Identify and develop upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Generate new business through existing and potential customer networks.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations and sales opportunities.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately forecast potential sales.
- Set and track sales and account targets in line with company objectives.
- Monitor sales performance, including quarterly results and annual forecasts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and opportunity information on the company CRM.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term customer retention and growth.
- Assist with challenging customer requests or escalations where required.
- Resolve customer concerns and provide solutions in a professional and timely manner.
- Liaise closely with the technical team to ensure successful delivery, installation and support of equipment.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the sales administration, technical and other internal teams.
- Provide a high level of customer service throughout the sales and after-sales process.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales performance and grow the veterinary business.
Requirements
- Qualification as a Radiology Technologist and/or relevant medical equipment sales experience.
- Previous experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager or in a similar sales role would be advantageous.
- Experience within the veterinary, medical imaging or healthcare equipment industry would be highly beneficial.
- Proven ability to develop new business and build strong customer relationships.
- Hands-on sales experience with the ability to deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Strong sales, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customers, projects and sales opportunities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience using CRM software.
- Understanding of sales pipelines, forecasting, targets and performance metrics.
- Self-motivated, energetic and results-driven.
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a broader team.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including sales trips to North West and Free State.
- Valid driver’s licence and comfortable travelling for business purposes.
