    Senior Specialist: DevOps Engineer

    Core Description  
    The role is responsible for delivering, maintaining, and optimizing infrastructure and database capabilities to support and enable the development and operations of applications driving the business. This role is also responsible for reviewing solution designs, understanding their impact on application/infrastructure; building and implementing infrastructure and applications, and monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the operational environments. The Senior DevOps Engineer will work with developers, application owners, vendors, and other engineers to build DevOps pipelines for deploying and managing applications. This role will be a custodian and thus be required to define and implement DevOps processes and associated governance.
    • Significant experience designing and supporting development, QA, pre and production environments
    • Strong coding skills in line with relevant Toolchain tools
    • Experience developing collaboratively, including infrastructure as code
    • Templating and automation tools for deploying and managing infrastructure and applications
    • Experienced with building CI/CD pipelines preferably with native tools

    Job Responsibilities    
    • Ensuring availability, performance, sustainability and accessibility of application systems/services
    • Ensuring necessary operational controls and governance are in place and policies to ensure alignment

    • Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance, capacity and availability, providing 2nd and 3rd level support for the resolution of application and infrastructure-related incidents and problems

    • Experience of current and emerging virtualization, infrastructure, cloud and containerization technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
    • Experience working closely with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, SAFe, XP.

    Specialist: Campaign Management Systems

    Core Description    
    Responsible for the end to end campaign configuration of the Campaign Management System (CMS) in support of agreed segment strategies for both mobile and fixed for the Consumer and Business segments. This role will assist the CVM campaign team with campaign planning requirements, tracking, customised reporting and data quality. The position will also be responsible to the customisation of the Telkom USSD application.

    Specialist: Digital Application Developer

    Core Description    
    Responsible for taking high-level business plans, ideas, problems or requirements and translate them into concrete netcentric (internet, intranet, extranet) functional specifications. The specs produced will describe how the solution integrates with both the business processes and products and the existing IT infrastructure. These specs must then be translated into netcentric (internet, intranet extranet) solutions; these solutions must be tested and then implemented. The implemented solutions must be maintained. All bug fixes will be taken through the same process as new requirements.
    Participate in every aspect of the development and implementation, working with business/ system analysts to ensure full understanding of the change implications to current business processes. Follow good development practices and software development life cycle methodologies throughout software solution development. Also responsible for Project Management. Some areas will require 2nd level support to be part of core tasks. Set development standards for the Digital development team, with input from the Domain leads and architects. Ensuring that regular code reviews get done to ensure that all developers conform to the development standards. Responsible for application database designs and scripting. Ensuring that best practice in database design is followed to ensure efficient and optimized database access from applications. Doing regular clean-ups on the database structure to ensure optimization. Responsible for the software technology upgrade used for development. Analyzing the new features of the upgraded software and ensuring that developers are informed of new features within software upgrades.
