    Purpose of the Role

    • To serve as a senior advisory authority by managing complex intermediary and/or client portfolios, providing thought leadership on advice solutions, influencing distribution strategy at a segment level, and safeguarding long-term client and business outcomes.

    Overview of Role Responsibilities (Level 1-13)

    Customer Relationship Management / Account Management- Level 6 - Adaptation

    • Develop and implement a relationship management plan for existing customer accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision-makers and influencers within the customer organization and to enable effective two-way flow of information and resolution of issues.
    • Collect feedback from identified customers or customer segments to ensure their needs are met, providing themes, summary analyses, and recommendations for changes based on customer input.

    Information and Business Advice- Level 6 - Adaptation

    • Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.

    Financial Advice- Level 6 - Adaptation

    • Implement the strategy for providing financial advice within an area of limited complexity, taking its distinctive client demographics and needs into account.

    Pricing and Terms Negotiation- Level 6 - Adaptation

    • Lead and deliver structured pricing and terms projects and procedures. Negotiate within approved boundaries.

    Customer Needs Clarification- Level 6 - Adaptation

    • Set clear objectives for each sales call or meeting; tailor standard materials to make presentations to decision-makers and influencers within the customer organization; and ask relevant questions to gather information, to evaluate the customer's level of interest, and to identify and respond to areas requiring further information or explanation.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    Qualification: 

    • Matric/Grade 12
    • Post matric qualification from a well-recognised institution will be an advantage.  

    Knowledge and Experience: 

    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative or call centre role. 
    • Ability to communicate in English, Afrikaans and (an African Language would be to your advantage). 
    • Must have working knowledge regarding the use of computers (computer literacy).

    Compliance Officer: Job Grade 10/11: SLS: Finance: Compliance: Bellville

    What will you do?

    • The Compliance Officer is responsible for assisting the Compliance Manager in ensuring the implementation and maintenance of an effective and well-monitored regulatory compliance framework within SLS, with a primary focus on Sanlam Group Risk and Sanlam Corporate Investments.
    • The role supports the identification, management, and monitoring of regulatory compliance risks and promotes adherence to applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Identification and risk rating of applicable laws and regulations
    • Implementation and maintenance of the compliance framework and processes
    • Compliance risk assessments, development, and implementation of compliance risk management plans
    • Developing and maintaining compliance monitoring plans
    • Conducting compliance monitoring
    • Compilation of internal and external compliance reports
    • Implementation of remedial action
    • Review regulatory training material to ensure that training requirements are met
    • Provide compliance training

    • Working knowledge of the legislation

    • Ability to comment on regulatory developments and advise business on changes
    • Ability to interact with industry bodies on legislation
    • Timeous involvement in key regulatory projects in order to pro-actively provide compliance guidance to business

    Qualification and Experience

    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in compliance including exposure to insurance and investment businesses
    • LLB, BComm (Law) or relevant legal qualification 
    • Applicable regulatory exams
    • Experience in providing compliance advice, conducting monitoring activities, and managing regulatory risk within insurance and/or investment environments
    • Member of the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa – Certified Compliance Practitioner (CPrac) designation would be advantageous 

    Knowledge and Skills

    • A strong working knowledge of the financial services industry and its regulatory environment (with a specific focus on Insurance, FAIS and medical legislation)
    • Sound knowledge and practical compliance experience relating to FAIS, the Long-term Insurance Act, Conduct Standards, Policyholder Protection Rules, FICA and other applicable financial services legislation
    • A thorough understanding and knowledge of development and execution of compliance risk management and monitoring plans
    • Working knowledge of the Generally Accepted Compliance Practice Framework
    • Ability to work well under pressure, independently and as part of a team
