    Maintenance Engineer

    Job description

    What Are The Responsibilities Of The Role?

    • Plans and executes assigned maintenance or repair projects, which involves a range of qualifications or personal resources.
    • Analyzes technical problems on site, and plans resources and budgets needed to solve the issue.
    • Sets up maintenance projects, proposes resources, assigns targets and work orders, and monitors progress of repair measures.
    • Acts as first point of contact for resolving complex process and production issues.
    • Plans and completes installation projects on site, ensures proper documentation and cooperation with involved operations.
    • Supports maintenance of technical documentations of processes and equipment.
    • Advices Technicians in maintenance a repair.
    • Sources necessary tools, jigs and equipment to support the production process.
    • Ensures all maintenance and process expenditure is cost effective
    • Plans equipment layout, workflow, and accidental prevention measures, and the respective processes and guidelines and work instructions for production.
    • Contributes to budget development, and ensures adherence to agreed budgets.
    • Develops Implements, monitors and reports on performance measurement and improvement initiatives.
    • Performs inspections and investigations, and analyzes technical manufacturing or logistics processes and sequences.
    • Plans, proposes and implements improvements projects on site or unit level, sets the respective targets, budgets and personnel resources, and steers the overall project process.
    • Liaises with other engineering functions or external vendors or service providers, and constantly monitors and approves respective services and work deliveries.
    • Manages overall ramp-up phase of new production & test equipment, or production launch of new products and ensures life cycle support.
    • Oversees ramp up, set up and start procedures in order to prepare machines and equipment for operations.
    • Compiles process and technical documentation, and trains related manufacturing or maintenance staff.
    • Conducts time and motions studies and derives time standards for production activities
    • Designs and engineers the system down to detail to satisfy the specified requirements of the customer.
    • Defines the products, components and subsystems to be used and their concrete characteristics.
    • Configures the components and subsystems used according to the requirements.
    • Develops detailed solutions for the integration to ensure the interaction of the individual elements as a functioning unit.
    • Is responsible for the realization of the system with the required functionality, prepares the design documentation.
    • May minister the executing units (e.g. manufacturing, procurement, logistics).

    What do I need to Qualify?

    • Min qualification: BSc Engineering: Mechanical Engineering
    • 3 Years Working Experience In
    • Repair and Maintenance of machinery, tools and equipment in a manufacturing factory,
    • Setting up of processes and equipment
    • Mechanical design and drawing
    • Medium and Low Voltage switchgear

    Function Of The Role

    Plans and executes sales targets and activities in a specified region for the portfolio of a unit in order to increase sales with all kinds of potential customers and to achieve defined commercial targets.

    What are the responsibilities of the role?

    • Plans sales volumes and potentials of all customers in the complete portfolio of Siemens Energy Management Division (High/ Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear, Transformers, Digital Grid, Service Range of Products)
    • Provides information via CRM for forecasts and planning.
    • Analyzes the specific market conditions and builds a sound market related network of stakeholders.
    • Spots opportunities for local product and service portfolio solutions.
    • Prepares customer contact, builds and maintains a customer focused network.
    • Prepares / coordinates and negotiates proposals in cooperation with proposal mgmt / other involved professionals and management.
    • Coordinates the realization of assignments, may coordinate and contribute to set up respective product developments, projects or services programs.
    • Completes sales and revenue related key reporting.
    • Contributes to the development of After-Market business in the region.
    • May act as a point of contact to customers in commercial matters and influences collaboration within the organization to secure customer support.

    What do I need to Qualify for this Job?

    • Completed National Diploma/Degree: Electrical Engineering
    • Min 5 Years relevant sales experience within the Energy Management portfolio/s (High/ Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear, Transformers, Digital Grid, Service Range of Products)
    • Must have experience in a Technical environment in the Electrical and/or Control (Automation)
    • Must have experience in Sales and/or project and/or consulting
    • Must be proficient MS Office
    • Must have a valid Drivers License and be willing to travel extensively
    • Must reside or be willing to relocate to the Western Cape
