    Recons Specialist CA (SA)

    MAIN PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB
    The successful candidate will be required to work with monthly data extracts from the business’s line of business system. This line of business system is not an accounting system but, contains journal-level detail which is normally housed in a General Ledger. These extracts (12 files per financial year) will be in Excel and will contain several rows ranging between 250k and 300k lines per file, depending on the level of transactional activity in any given month.
    These files will have to be analysed, unpacked, and summarised for data integrity, which may include a reconciliation between the transactional data and the general ledger/trial balance. Data anomalies will have to be isolated. System calculations will have to be reperformed and any system errors reported. The transactional result of input errors will also have to be identified and separately reported.
    SKILLS/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

    •  Qualified CA (SA) with between 5-to-7-year post articles experience.
    •  Big-data experience and knowledge of Power Query will be beneficial.
    •  Ability to analyse transactional data and identify anomalies and errors.
    •  Knowledge of systems-accounting.
    •  Advanced Excel skills including usage of pivot tables and formulas such as but not limited to countif() and sumif().
    •  Must be able to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
    •  Must be able to work independently and be a team player

    Charted Accountant - Banking Reconciliation Specialist

    System Specialist -Workivia
