    Lecturer (Nurse Educator) – AHC Nursing College

    Description

    • A vacancy exists for a Lecturer (Nurse Educator) reporting to the AHC Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating educational programs that prepare nursing students and professionals for clinical practice.

    Critical Outputs

    Theory:

    • Compiling of lesson plans
    • Setting tests, assignments, workbooks, and examinations (according to Bloom's taxonomy)
    • Marking and moderating of tests and exams
    • Design or assist with short courses
    • Present short courses to the clinical facilities of Africa Health Care as part of in-service training

    Clinical Teaching:

    • Design evaluation tools for clinical procedures
    • Compiling of lesson plans for clinical teaching
    • Demonstrate procedures
    • Clinical accompaniment in the simulation laboratory and in the accredited clinical facilities
    • Assess students for clinical competency
    • Moderate clinical assessments
    • Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
    • Assist with registration and completion of students with SANC
    • Record all student activities: class attendance, marks, consultations, clinical hours(timesheets)
    • Assist with designing the current curricula or changing the current curricula
    • Willingness to travel to other provinces and clinical facilities
    • Willingness to do overtime

    Requirements

    • Registered Nurse with SANC
    • Basic Qualification (i.e. Diploma/Degree) in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration as a Professional Nurse
    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a qualification higher
    • Post basic qualification (i.e. Diploma/Degree) in Nursing Education.
    • Post-basic qualification in Critical Care Nursing
    • Post basic qualification (i.e. Diploma/Degree) in Nursing Administration/Management.
    • Minimum of 3 (three) years appropriate/recognised nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse
    • At least a period of 3 (three) years of appropriate experience in Nursing Education after obtaining a post-basic qualification
    • Proof of registration with SANC for Assessor and Moderator
    • BLS instructor certificate is an advantage
    • Experience in mentoring a specific group of students
    • Knowledge of all relevant legislation pertaining to the management of a Nursing Education Institution
    • A valid driver’s license

    Learning Programme Coordinator – AHC Nursing College

    Description

    • A vacancy exists for a Learning Programme Coordinator reporting to the AHC Principal. The successful candidate will oversee various programmes and projects as well as plan and execute education programmes, enhancing student experiences and managing programme logistics.

    Critical Outputs

    • Programme Coordination
    • Program Scheduling and Coordination with a diverse group of stakeholders, including internal and external trainers, facilitators, and subject matter experts.
    • Communication and Stakeholder Management providing clear and timely information about upcoming learning opportunities to participants, fostering a positive learning environment
    • Resource Management which includes overseeing training materials, digital content, equipment, Learning Management System and Student Information Management System.
    • Tracking and Reporting on attendance, participation, and completion rates, providing valuable insights into program engagement.
    • Vendor and Partner Coordination liaising with external training providers, arranging for consultancy services, and ensuring that all contractual obligations are met
    • Compliance and Documentation ensuring compliance with organisational policies and industry regulations
    • Theoretical and Clinical teaching monitoring of learning activities and achieving learning programme outcomes
    • Moderation of formative and summative assessments to ensure compliance with assessment practices and procedures
    • Quality improvement initiatives aligned to regulatory requirements

    Requirements

    • Professional Nurse registered with SANC
    • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher qualification
    • Post basic qualification (i.e. Diploma/Degree) in Nursing Education.
    • Post basic qualification (i.e. Diploma/Degree) in Nursing Administration/Management.
    • Post basic qualification in Clinical Nursing Specialisation
    • Minimum of 3 (three) years of appropriate/recognised nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse
    • At least 3 (three) years of appropriate experience in Nursing Education after obtaining a post-basic qualification
    • Proof of registration with SANC for Assessor and Moderator BLS instructor certificate an advantage

    • A vacancy exists for a Clinical Facilitator (College-based) reporting to the AHC Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for co-coordinating and delivering clinical nurse training to ensure competent qualified nurses and students in line with nursing objectives.
