    Infrastructure Engineer

    • The main purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of wayside equipment maintenance required to provide passengers with a safe, effective and efficient transportation service. The role also requires providing support to Infrastructure manager in managing a multi-disciplinary team
    • This role will be based at the Gautrain Maintenance Depot in Midrand, Johannesburg. 

    YOUR ROLE:

    • Provide support and perform follow up with multi-disciplinary team in:
    • Achievement of maintenance performance criteria
    • Effective sub-contractor / vendor management
    • Effective development and control of the budget
    • Effective stakeholder relationship management
    • Effective teamwork and self-management
    • Perform follow up on Wayside non-conformances, open action requests, open audit findings and assist with any correspondence with external parties.
    • Arrange & facilitate incident reviews and technical investigations
    • Analyse and facilitate integration of data coming from Operations (Return on Experience).
    • Review and Improve infrastructure processes and procedures.

    YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree in  Electrical, Electronic or Civil Engineering.  Registerable with ECSA as Professional Engineer
    • 5+ years experience within a railway maintenance function
    • Good knowledge of  railway maintenance principles
    • Exposure / knowledge of railway rules and regulations
    • Multi-disciplinary exposure to various railway sub-systems (eg, tracks, signaling, electrical, etc)
    • Coordination of planning between the various subsystems
    • People management
    • South African citizen

    Industrial Quality Manager

    Your future role

    • Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive quality management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and innovative teammates.
    • You'll lead our Zero Defect Program, ensuring Industrial Quality compliance with customer requirements and Alstom standards. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Production, Engineering, Supply Chain), spearhead the implementation of Quality Control Plans, and much more.
    • You’ll specifically take care of leading control and process digitalization, as well as managing actions to enhance outgoing product quality.

    We’ll look to you for:

    • Supporting the Project Manufacturing Engineer to ensure non-compliance risks analysis using Process FMEA.
    • Leading implementation of Quality Control Plans using Return of Experience (REX) from previous projects and associated relevant Industrial Quality staffing.
    • Driving control and process digitalization initiatives.
    • Performing analysis and managing actions to improve outgoing product quality.
    • Escalating main anomalies detected on production lines and ensuring their effective treatment using Problem Solving tools.
    • Supporting manufacturing teams in quality matters and developing self-inspection capabilities.

    • A B-Tech/degree in Engineering (electromechanical, electrical, material, mechanical) or equivalent
    • A B-Tech in Quality Management System or Project Quality Management qualification
    • At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial quality
    • Experience in managing Quality tools and problem-solving methodologies
    • Knowledge of the railway industry (norms, certifications…) would be beneficial
    • Proven management experience and ability to work in a matrix organization
    • International mindset, fluent in English, and excellent cross-cultural communication skills
    • Leadership skills with the ability to drive change and influence outcomes
