    Accountant & Human Capital Administrator (Ngala Safari Lodge) (ZN_Acc_HC_Admin)

    • This role will suit a person who is able to work independently while being part of a team, is results orientated, has attention to detail and good people skills. It will require investment in time during peak periods to produce accurate and timely results.
    • This is a live in position at Ngala but with no/very little contact with guests.  This is an office/administration position reporting to the Regional Manager/ General Manager/Regional Finance Manager.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 4 years’ management experience is essential
    • Luxury lodge and Touring finance experience is an advantage

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND FINANCE DUTIES
    ACCOUNTING:

    • Accurate recording and management of financial information for all business units
    • Monitoring the controls within the lodges and conducting internal audits
    • Maintaining and improving high financial standards
    • Meeting finance deadlines
    • Training of staff from various backgrounds and skill levels
    • Collation and resolution of general ledger queries
    • Interpretation and analysis of management accounts
    • Holding monthly finance meetings to discuss financial performance
    • Correct authorization and allocation of business expenditure
    • Reconciling various accounts including clearing accounts and inter lodge transactions
    • Maintaining stock control procedures, assisting with stock counts when required
    • Develop and implement systems and procedures
    • Oversee and assist in the compiling of budgets
    • Assist all staff with Panstrat
    • Assist lodge managers/ Director with queries
    • Review and train Front of House systems
    • Assisting with year-end audit
    • CAPEX – Tracking the spend on significant capex projects v budgets
    • Collation and accuracy of Sustainability Stats, compilation of Sustainability graphs
    • Reconciliation of fuel
    • Flagging problem areas
    • Business compliance on track and in place – including liquor license, business license etc
    • Maintaining of fixed asset register
    • The Implementation and / or maintenance of financial systems, processes and procedures ensuring the accuracy of data as extracted from multiple platforms
    • Analyzing and tracking the Maintenance spend
    • Monitoring the vehicle fleet
    • Budget/re-forecasting expenses

    Human Capital:

    • Loading of new staff, terminations, earnings, deductions and company contributions.
    • Assist with all UIF claim forms to Department of Labour.
    • Preparing and reconciling all payrolls for sign off by General Manager or Regional manager.
    • Printing of payslips to be sent to respective lodges
    • Monthly human capital reports
    • Quarterly EE Forum meetings – minutes and reporting follow-up
    • Annual reporting

    • Dealing with employee queries
    • Projects as identified from time to time
    • Strong commercial and operational focus

    Lodge Manager (Ngala Safari Lodge) (ZN_Ngala_LM)

    KEY OUTPUTS:

    • Overall management of Ngala Safari Lodge operations and staff.
    • Responsible for ensuring high standards of service excellence and guest delight is maintained.
    • Support to the General Manager – In setting and executing on all operational plans and strategies to be determined for the lodge.
    • Provide disciplined and inspirational leadership to the Ngala Safari Lodge team as well as effective management to ensure highest levels of productivity and service excellence. 
    • Ensure daily interaction and communications with in-house guests so to lead and develop a guest centric hospitality culture.
    • Identify staff talent and create plans and opportunities for staff retention, development and growth.
    • Ensure &Beyond values are actively engaged and nurtured within staff teams.
    • Assist General Manager to draft annual business plans for Ngala Safari Lodge for each financial year and then oversee implementation thereof within specified time frames and budgets.
    • Assist the General Manager to draft annual business budgets for Ngala Safari Lodge for each financial year and then oversee implementation thereof within specified time frames and budgets.
    • Ensure all internal financial controls and systems are in place and strictly adhered to within Ngala Safari Lodge.
    • Create annual and monthly training plans for all departments and structure external training and exchanges with other lodges/ regions where possible.
    • Place and monitor of all lodge operational stock orders and oversee procurement function between the BuyDesign team and Ngala Safari Lodge.
    • Create strategies to enhance guest delight and service excellence. Ensure plan is implemented and managed throughout the year.
    • Work with Executive chef to ensure menu and food are aligned to lodge quality standards and requisite guest food scores and food budgets are being met and monitored.
    • Work directly with the Operations Manager, Head Ranger, camp managers and respective Departmental Managers to ensure &Beyond Lodge and service standards are maintained at all times and ensure costs and budgets are managed and not exceeded in order to meet regional goals.
    • Daily meeting with the management team and Heads of Department to discuss the daily plan, including arrivals, departures, maintenance, food, special requests, bush banqueting.  Over and above daily hosting of guests ensure you host all Agents, Media and VIP Groups.
    • Ensure effective co-operation, collaboration and support with/to Ngala Tented Camp team.
    • Ensure all health and safety compliance standards, including management of &Beyond Covid 19 Protocols, are met and/or exceeded and that all necessary functions in this regard are realised.
    • Oversee safety and security of all guests, lodge staff and company assets.
    • Ensure all health and safety and risk protocols are met and maintained. 
    • To ensure there you are up-to-date with the andBeyond Academy and to ensure you execute the plan as well as be the driving force of the academy. Inspire the Ngala Team to complete Academy goals

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED (QUALIFICATIONS OR TRAINING PROGRAMS)

    • At least 4 years relevant experience in a 5 star operation.
    • Some form of managerial training
    • Company Knowledge (&BEYOND as well as Wild Impact)
    • Valid unendorsed SA driver’s license essential.

    PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • A minimum of 5 years’ Experience in the service industry especially in dealing with guests and staff
    • Lodge Management and previous camp manger/ safari host experience an advantage
    • Previous experience in working with kids an advantage
