    Inventory Specialist – Strategic Supplier Programs (12-month Fixed Term Contract)

    An analyst working as part of a team to identify and implement high-impact physical supply chain initiatives focused on working capital (inbound inventory) & supply chain cost reduction and performance improvement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work as an analyst in PSC project and strategic initiatives relating to the working capital reduction.
    • Standardized vendor-owned inventory (VOI) models including VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), consignment, in-company stores.
    • Excess reduction via supplier buy-back or supplier-driven market solutions.
    • Prioritizing supplier performance efforts, to reduce lead times and lead time variability.
    • Development and execution of Obsolete and Excess Disposal Strategy.
    • Review and assess current MRP levels and suggestion to MRP levels at supplier stores.
    • Implementation of an EDI (ERP Integration) and catalogues for management of VOI/VMI to ensure visibility and seamless transactions.
    • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with suppliers.
    • Collaboration with Category Management and BU teams on VOI/VMI strategy and execution.
    • Analyze the end-to-end inbound Supply Chain to identify opportunities for performance enhancement, working capital reduction and/or direct cost reduction.

    Qualifications

    • A qualification in a Supply Chain discipline with specific reference to Physical Supply Chain.

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Supply chain optimization in an operational and/or consulting role is essential.
    • Inventory management experience in an industry with a complex inventory profile, high-criticality items and rigorous policy requirements is essential.
    • Financial implications of supply chain activities on working capital is a distinct advantage.
    • Expertise in Category management within an inventory management environment.
    • Hands on experience with analyzing big data and making forecasts.
    • Supplier performance and monitoring.

    Key Skills

    • Integration of sustainability into governance structures.
    • Identification and prioritisation of sustainability risks and opportunities.
    • Developing detailed Sustainability 5 Year Plans that establish a pathway to deliver our Sustainable Mining Plan commitments as well as other relevant sustainability priorities.
    • Embed sustainability into governance and decision making.
    • Integrate sustainability into core planning (RDP/LoAP, budgeting, IPP, resource allocation) and management systems (AAOM).
    • Leverage interdependencies across the value chain.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate in relevant Discipline such as Sustainability, Social Performance, environmental

    Technical Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of and proven ability to operate at a senior level in the field of sustainable development, which may include:
    • Experience of working with diverse, multifunctional and international teams on sustainability issues (required).
    • Experience of management of social, environmental and / or government relations challenges at Group Function or Business Unit or country level (required).
    • Track record of developing and implementing environmental / social performance management systems for businesses, projects and/or operations that are integrated with core business management systems (required).
    • Experience of social performance and impact management, including resettlement processes (highly desirable).
    • Experience in the extractive sector (highly desirable).
    • Experience of having worked in partnerships with governments, academia or civil society organizations at a national or local level (desirable).
    • Experience of working with senior managerial level.
