    Auto Electrician - Shifts

    Description:

    Job Description:

    As Auto Electrician you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    Safety and Health

    • Adhere to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
    • Ensure Learners under your supervision adhere to all relevant safety standards and procedures.
    • Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.

    Performance and Delivery

    Equipment and Machinery Maintenance:

    • Maintain and test all light motor vehicles, mobile cranes, or other relevant equipment/machinery to ensure functionality, safety, reliability, and availability to complete jobs within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits.
    • Conduct inspections to identify possible failures and repair or raise notifications for repairs.
    • Ensure adequate maintenance of HME / plant equipment and related machinery to ensure optimal utilisation and availability and to maximise production and throughput schedule.
    • Identify and report defects, equipment failures and time required to repair the Supervisor to enable applicable decision-making, action planning and problem resolution.
    • Ensure work is executed as per Operating Model standards and procedures.
    • Ensure job cards are completed in full and returned on time.
    • Ensure all toolboxes and tools are kept in good condition.
    • Ensure proper communication and handover of outstanding tasks between shifts and day-shift teams.

    Maintenance Efficiency:

    • Ensure equipment installations and commissioning are maintained as specified in the maintenance strategy. #
    • Infrastructure and post-installation work testing for functionality follow specifications within the agreed schedule and budgetary limits.
    • Continuously monitor maintenance progress and related preparation activities against ad hoc to meet operational targets, minimise downtime, enable timely reporting and enhance equipment efficiency.

    Assistance and Practices:

    • Provide proactive advice on all maintenance-related matters and ad hoc jobs to all concerned parties, aligned with best practices and within agreed-upon timeframes, to avoid possible problems and uplift the competence base.
    • Liaise with relevant personnel to arrange assistance regarding resources required (equipment and people) to ensure successful task execution.
    • Assist the supervisor and co-workers according to their level/area of competence and follow company policies when instructed or during the responsible person's absence to ensure the achievement of functional objectives.

    People Development:

    • Identify and utilise on-the-job learning opportunities to achieve the required competency levels.
    • Attend all new relevant training and skills provided for the job.
    • Ensure accurate and understandable information, provide regular feedback, and monitor progress to develop and equip learners/team members with the necessary competencies.
    • Ensure Learners under your supervision adhere to all relevant safety standards and procedures.
    • This role is in the Engineering & Maintenance HME/Plant (ENG) at a Band J3 level reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 / N3 Technical
    • Occupational Red Seal Certificate as an Auto Electrician
    • SA Drivers Licence Code B

    Experience

    • 2 years of operational experience as an Auto Electrician.
    • Knowledge of safety standards.
    • Familiarity with company policies and procedures.
    • Experience with PLC exposure and high and low voltage fault finding.
    • Expertise in systems and technology, including H1 communication systems, Profibus systems, S7 PLC programming, optic fibre communication, and high voltage networks 11 kv.
    • Understanding of lock-out procedures.

    As P&O Onboarding Advisoryou will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    Safety, Health, and Environment

    • Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards throughout recruitment.
    • Adhere to SHE policies while fostering a culture of safety and well-being among candidates and new hires.
    • Meet all SHE requirements specific to the onboarding process.

    Performance and Delivery

    Onboarding Process:

    • Execute the Kumba Contractor Management Guideline and ensure effective communication and adoption during onboarding.
    • Champion using the digital Contractor Management System to track Contractor Management Processes.
    • Execute contractor onboarding and offboarding timelines based on SAP Ariba contracts and purchase order awards.
    • Monitor onboarding and offboarding processes, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Report findings to the Contractor Management Task team.
    • Engage with end users, SHE, Engineering, Supply Chain, and HR/HRD to ensure successful onboarding.
    • Arrange active engagements with contractors during the onboarding and offboarding phases.
    • Conduct onboarding audits to identify root causes of delays and monitor corrective actions for continuous improvement.
    • Coordinate training sessions across Sishen and Kolomela based on onboarding requirements.
    • Align onboarding training schedules with the Learning Delivery department and arrange special sessions as needed.
    • Monitor onboarding and offboarding issues related to local suppliers.

    People & Teams:

    • Conduct Team+ meetings to ensure team performance aligns with onboarding objectives.

    Compliance:

    • Implement the Anglo American Group Contractor Performance Management Policy (POL.GLB.SUP.004).
    • Ensure standardisation of onboarding requirements across all Kumba business units.

    Communication:

    • Maintain clear communication with project managers, HR, and stakeholders on recruitment and demobilisation status.
    • Provide regular updates on onboarding and offboarding activities.

    Reporting:

    • Prepare and present reports on recruitment metrics, demobilisation, and workforce planning.
    • Track and analyse trends to improve onboarding processes.

    Relationship Management:

    • Build relationships with recruitment agencies, contractors, and external partners.
    • Foster a positive working environment for both incoming and outgoing personnel.
    • This role is in the Contractor Performance Management (CPM) at a Band 6 level reporting to the Section Manager P&O Data, Onboarding & Engagement.

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12
    • National Diploma in Human Resources Management on NQF6
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management on NQF7 (Preferred)
    • SA Drivers License Code B

    Experience

    • 3-5 years of experience in Project and Contractor Management within a mining environment.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), including reporting functionalities.
    • Strong understanding of Anglo American Group Contractor Performance Management Policy (POL.GLB.SUP.004).
    • Familiarity with accounting systems and financial processes related to contractor management.

    • Manage security control room operations and personnel effectively.

    Supervise the permit office and personnel.

    • Oversee the computerized security and emergency incident logging and management system.
    • Exercise budget and cost control for your area of responsibility.
    • Manage health and safety within your area of responsibility.
    • Liaise with Senior Management, HOD, and Line Management regarding security system matters.
    • Conduct audits and surveys to identify suitable electronic security measures as needed.

    • Abide by all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, acting at the next higher level when necessary.
    • This role is in the SHEPS at a Band 7 level reporting to the Section Manager Security.

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12
    • Relevant qualification in Security Management or Police Management (NQF5)
    • Registered with PSIRA as a Grade A Security Officer
    • Electronic security systems training courses (Preferred)
    • Voluntary Principles on Human Rights and Security Course (Preferred)

    Experience

    • 5 Years Security Supervisory/Management experience.
    • Experience in managing control rooms, technical services departments/contractors.
    • Acquired experience in security management processes specific to the mining industry.

    Job Description:

    As MIOC Coordinatoryou will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    Safety, Health, and Environment

    • Maintain a secure and safe work environment where employees can deliver their outputs in a controlled environment free from harm.
    • Keep environmental impact within statutory requirements to ensure compliance with our operating license.
    • Manage and oversee fatigue management on shifts.
    • Lead as the most senior person on shift and oversee mining operations through Dispatch as needed.
    • Escalate any operational and SHE-related matters to the responsible Section Managers or Mining(s) manager promptly.
    • Active participation in VFLs, Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions (when applicable).

    Performance and Delivery

    • Deliver a Business Execution Plan through shift-based operational performance and short-interval control.
    • Manage and direct operations to achieve the budget plan and schedule compliance metrics.
    • Utilise mining equipment according to the target to ensure the achievement of Operational Equipment Effectiveness (“OEMs”).
    • Execute planned work and reduce the amount of ad hoc/urgent work.
    • Load Trucks to total capacity when hauling, ensuring drilling remains on schedule and Loading is aware if targets are not met.
    • Maintain Scheduled work, Scheduled Completion and Schedule Effectiveness as per target.
    • Support Feedback and Measures (A&I) process utilisation in the team.
    • Revise on-shift management of Mining Standards, covering the total value chain (block prep to dumps).
    • Ensure safe operations through proper dust management, fatigue management and all other PUE-related controls.
    • Conduct critical control monitoring on shifts as well as high-risk work verification.
    • Serve as the link between Dispatch systems and Operational Shift Coordinators /Supervisors regarding management and supervision of block preparation, drill and blast and equipment utilisation.
    • First point of contact in analysing fatigue incidents and non-adherence to follow protocol in allocating trucks and shovels.
    • Report substandard road conditions to the section responsible for keeping damage to equipment to a minimum.
    • Ensure continuous integration with the plant (plant feed).
    • Feedback and handover at both the start and end of the shift.
    • Attend Planning meetings to ensure complete alignment with mine deployment.

    Sustainability and Social

    • Protects Anglo American’s license to operate and reputation by embedding sustainable practices in day-today mining operations.
    • Proactively manages the impact of mining on the environment and community and drives compliance with licensing and legal requirements.
    • Adopts a holistic view of the mining environment.
    • Understands and manages the combined impact of operations such as transport, noise, and vibrations.
    • Embeds sustainable practice into all activities.

    People and Teams

    • Optimise human resources to maximise output and ensure the total value chain delivers on its commitment (budget).

    • Ensure 24/7/365 supervision coverage as per DMRE requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • B.Eng., / B.Sc. in Mining Engineering (Advantageous)

    Experience

    • Expertise in block preparation, plant feed, and the mining value chain.
    • TMM and optimal equipment set-up and cost-benefit of block preparation machinery.
    • MHSA knowledge of environmental, occupational health, and risk management standards.
