Site Engineer    

Job mission: To provide engineering input, Operations and Maintenance monitoring and project management

Key performance areas:

• Design and review of project design deliverables/solutions.
• Operations and Maintenance monitoring, project management, contracts management
• Interact across all engineering disciplines:
• Report writing, review and drafting skills
• Design and review of project design deliverables/solutions, support to Head Office, site supervision
• Providing adequate engineering skills throughout all phases of project design, procurement and implementation of a project complying with standard engineering practices, project management processes, and innovative designs.
• Liaise, interact, facilitate information with Contractor/ Operator
• Focussing efforts on reducing technical risk and improving reliability through root cause identification and resolution.
• Conducting critical assessments on construction/ installation methodologies, equipment and developing/ determining solutions for improvement.
• Ensuring the inclusion of ergonomic engineering, safety engineering, system and value engineering in design projects.            
• Operations and Maintenance monitoring, project management, contracts management
• Monitors the daily Operations and Maintenance activities on site
• Monitors maintenance activities against work schedule and O&M manual, together with project management responsibilities
• Ensure compliance of operations and maintenance activities with the EMP and obligations per the relevant permits and authorisations
• Independently identify performance problems or data anomalies from existing reports and using analysis methods, plant logs, and inquiries to explain and remedy the source of those problems
• Independently investigate specific Plant performance queries and concerns
• Drive continuous improvements by addressing deficiencies in existing analysis tools and method
• Contracts management by understanding the details of the contractual agreements
• Compile technical specifications for contract documentation
• Evaluation project costing, cost/budget management, variation orders and compensation events
• Performs economic analysis on engineering and project solutions
• Monitor safety health and environmental issues, legislation compliance on site  
• Interact across all engineering disciplines:
• Consults with Operators/Contractor site staff on engineering issues.       5%
• Liaises with other disciplines to ensure that interface design assumptions are communicated in both directions.
• Facilitates access to technical information.
• Performs economic evaluations on proposed solutions to aid an informed decision.        
• Report writing, review and drafting skills
• Compiles technical reports
• Review of Operators/Contractors reports
• Writing of detailed specifications
• Produce graphical information in excel
• Produce weekly and monthly progress reports
• Presentation skills 

Minimum qualification requirements:   

• (B Tech) and/ or Postgrad - Electrical, Electronic Mechatronic      
• Related minimum 3 years’ experience:
• (B Tech) - three years post qualification experience.
• BSc/BEng Degree two-year post qualification experience.            
• Professional registration body: ECSA

Operations Manager

Job mission: Management of plant operations and maintenance, Technical advisor and Contracts management

Requirements: 

• Operations management
• Provide technical Leadership
• Contracts management
• Manage compliance to the various Project Documents
• Interface with plant manager on plant performance
• Monitor and provide analytical comment of plant performance
• Monitor O&M performance to Operators obligations per the O&M Agreement
• Budget management
• Manage site staff
• Verification of contract documentation and payment certificates
• Managing SHEQ Compliance.
• Manage risk and defects of critical issues
• Review and comment of Contractors/Operators reports
• Technical/O&M input to Board and management reports
• Provide input and draft new contracts
• Manage risk register, and mitigation plans              
• Provide technical Leadership
• Problem solving, provide analysis and solutions to operational issues
• Perform cost and economic analysis necessary to inform decision making
• Provide support to site staff
• Provide mentorship and guidance to young project engineer/manager            
• Ensure Owners rights and interests are protected with all parties
• Respond to Contractor/Operators notices
• Manage contractual notice and reporting obligations per ALL Project Documents
• Update document tracking list (DTL)
• Maintain/renew all permits/authorisations/approvals
• Warranty claim management
• Detecting any possible contractual risk or non-compliance, advise the management on how to mitigate the risk and/or prepare the corresponding communication to Contractor/Operator
• Attend relevant meetings with stakeholders
• Produce necessary reports as required by Management
• Collaborate and support other departments within the business

Qualifications:

• BSc/MTech/BTech Engineering
• Professional Registration with relevant Body
• Related minimum experience: 10 years’
• B Tech and (M Tech), BA, Proc - years post qualification experience.
• BSc or MSc, LLB - years post qualification experience.
