    Excavator Operator - Witbank

    Description

    • Positions exist to ensure safe and effective extraction of production as well as construction of dams, building haul road

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Adherence to safe operation of Excavator in line with manufacturer operator's manual
    • Operate equipment to excavate to correct levels and alignment.·Report any encountered defects immediately to supervisors/mechanics
    • Conducting a walk-around inspection, complete pre-start  and post operation inspection checklist
    • Good-Housekeeping of the equipment, Identify substandard and hazardous conditions, assess and take appropriate action
    • Perform the task of loading materials as per SOP
    • Complying with specified requirements and the consequence to health, safety and environment·Report and assist on formulating corrective measures against all substandard acts and conditions
    • Ensure that risk assessments are conducted prior to all activities

    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

    • Matric/Grade 12 will be an added advantage.
    • Excavator Operating License
    • Security Clearance
    • 3 Years Excavator Operating

    Community Liaising Officer - Witbank

    Description

    • This position exists to build and maintain good relationships between Fraser Alexander and the community, our employees and the client .

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Community Liaison

    • Facilitate and resolve issues between community and employer
    • Reporting of issues in community that will impact on the project and employer
    • Participate and represent employer at community events

    Employee Relationship Management

    • Recruitment of local employees from immediate communities
    • Assist with management of training schedule on-site and on-the-job
    • Assist with the termination and demobilisation of employees
    • Participate in disciplinary hearings (observer / translator)
    • First level of employee grievance resolution
    • Organise social events on site and in community on behalf of employer
    • Monthly reporting in terms of recruitment; training; terminations; disciplinary & grievances; 

    Social Economic Development (SED)

    • Assist with time and attendance
    • Induction of local employees with regards to Code of Conduct / Disciplinary Code
    • Identify and manage SED initiatives in the community on behalf of employer

    Client Liaison

    • Serve on Client Community Forum (CCF) on behalf of employer
    • Ensure employer compliance with client requirements into community

    Requirements
    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum Grade 12 certificate or equivalent NQF level qualification
    • Tertiary qualification or certificate in Social Science with a focus on Development Studies would be an advantage

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 2 – 5 years’ relevant working experience in a similar role
    • Proven involvement and exposure to community development work, preferably around the Seriti project.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Able to prioritize and complete task(s)
    • Excellent report writing skills
    • Meeting management skills
    • High attention to detail, with good planning and organising skills
    • Intermediate MS Word skills and basic Excel and PowerPoint skills

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Valid SA ID
    • No criminal record (screening will be done)
    • Pass medical fitness examination
    • Valid SARS tax reference number
    • A current SA bank Account
    • Municipal Account / Proof of Residence
