    Assistant Manager - Finance

    Description of the role and purpose of the job:

    The Finance Business Unit of KPMG South Africa is responsible for providing services that support the business objectives and strategy of the Southern African region. It oversees financial systems, planning and management activities, including budgeting and forecasting, collections, reporting and compliance, and creation of value.

    This role will support the CFO in pro-actively managing the relationship amongst KPMG member firms in Southern Africa, via support and administrative assistance.

    Key responsibilities:

    Financial Reporting

    •          Assist the CFO with the production of annual financial statements for all entities in South Africa.
    •          Ensure all legislative reporting requirements are met e.g. Stats SA, CIPC.
    •          Assist the CFO with production of accurate, timely monthly & annual financial reporting for the KPMG Executive & Board relating to the “Over the Border”(OTB) member firms.
    •          Prepare monthly reporting of OTB financials and other related reporting to the region
    •          Ensure financial month-end and year-end timetable is prepared and distributed to the OTB regions and are aligned with the SA member firms timelines and policies.
    •          Align and monitor the financial month end and year end processes of the OTB member firms to the South African firm
    •          Monitor the financial performance; lockup and cash management of the OTB countries.
    •          Further develop technical specialist knowledge in the finance arena.
    •          Use Oracle and other professional software in an effective manner.
    •          Ensures that department milestones/goals are met.
    •          Provides prompt and meaningful information which reflects knowledge, insight and experience.
    •          Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

     

    Taxation

             Liaise with the OTB finance managers to ensure that their respective tax returns are submitted.

    Management

    •          Serve as a key contact person to the Finance Managers in the OTB countries assisting in the resolution of issues arising in payroll, accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable teams in the OTB countries

    Annual Financial Statements

    •          Responsible for drafting and/or reviewing annual financial statements of the sub-licencee’s

    Senior Manager - Deal Advisory: M&A

    Description of the role and purpose of the job:

    •  The role of the Senior Manager would be to assist in origination and manage the execution of public and private mergers, acquisitions and divestitures across all industry sectors, various types of capital raising transactions across South African (and Sub-Saharan Africa).

    Key responsibilities:

    As a Senior Manager in M&A your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Leading the day-to-day management of projects
    • Liaising with the relevant counterparts at the client and other advisers (accounting, legal etc.)
    • Coordinating project deliverables and due diligence with other advisers
    • Supporting senior management and coverage bankers in origination efforts
    • Conducting detailed valuation analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO analysis
    • Performing and reviewing detailed combination models, transaction structuring, valuation and other financial analysis
    • Overseeing the preparation of presentation books, management presentations, board materials, memoranda, and other presentation materials for use in transactions or strategic client dialogue
    • Interaction with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
    • Providing leadership, mentorship and supervision to junior staff
    • Presenting conclusions and reports to C-level executives
    • Preparing tailored proposals
    • Completing risk management procedures from inception up to acceptance of engagements
    • Managing work-in-progress, billing and collection of invoices

    Minimum requirements to apply for the role (including qualifications and experience):

    • A minimum of 8 years of experience in consulting and/or implementation of security technology and strategy and compliances,
    • Experience on design and implementation with emphasis on security, security operations and integration; IT risk management.
    • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college/university
    • Possess baseline security certification such as CISM/CISSP/GSEC/CISA/cloud certification for Microsoft Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform or studying towards attaining the certification
