    Annual Shut Manager - (1160)

    Job Purpose:

    • The purpose of the role will be to manage and lead mill Annual Shut teams. The successful incumbent will be responsible for legal compliance reporting and recordkeeping.

    Qualifications & Expertise:

    • BSc Engineering Degree / B.Tech Engineering  
    • Government Certificate of Competency is advantageous.
    • Project management experience is important
    • Professional Project Management qualification considered highly advantageous.

    Job Experience:

    • 5 years experience as an Engineer in a heavy industry environment.
    • Experience in a project management position
    • Experience in Maintenance Management, and/or Turnaround Shut Management
    • Experience within the Pulp & Paper industry will be beneficial.
    • Experience with major planning systems and project management systems (SAP, Prima Vera)

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Lead mill Annual Shut teams
    • Annual shut Steercom reporting and Mill shutdown plan compilation.
    • Responsible for legal compliance reporting and recordkeeping
    • Reporting and analysis of: Mondi Group shut reports, Shut Steercom reports, Shut KPI reports, Learnings reports and others.
    • Central filing and reporting on Shut.
    • Management and development of multiyear annual shut strategy and best practice adoption and development in shut planning
    • Responsible for all Annual shut aspects, e.g. Safety, Environment, Quality, Planning
    • Personnel development and assessment of direct and indirect team members
    • Accurate reporting

    Quality Assurance Manager - (1157)

    Job Purpose:

    • Reporting to the Technical Deputy Director, the purpose of the role will be to manage the quality, process and technology functions by applying the principles of transactional and transformational management through the implementation of relevant best practices that are aimed at achieving the organisational strategic objectives.

    Qualifications & Expertise:

    • BSc Chemistry or equivalent (Btech in Analytical Chemistry)

    Job Experience:

    • 5 - 10 years’ experience in Quality Control environment
    • 3 or more years leadership experience of Quality Control & Process Laboratories
    • Experience within the Pulp & Paper industry will be beneficial
    • Manufacturing or Mill experience will be advantageous

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Ensure effective management of risk, safety and quality, through risk assessments, implementation and management of behavioural based safety, task analyses and quality management, to ensure a zero tolerance for unsafe acts and acceptable levels of safety incidents
    • Ensure effective financial management by finance control, financial compliance and risk management to ensure quality outputs are delivered and within budget
    • Ensure solids customer and supplier relations are built, maintained and managed, to ensure timely delivery from suppliers, with customer satisfaction
    • Develop, implemented and managed quality and technical operational plans, aligned with the strategic plans of the organisation.
    • Provide technical consultative specific support services, building capacity and skillsthrough coaching and mentoring
    • Monitor sustainable trends of product quality, and process capability
    • Ensure effective leadership of the Process~, and QC laboratory
    • Develop, implement and manage continuous improvement projects, as well as process improvement and optimisation initiatives to stimulate quality outputs

    Production Effluent Manager - (1153)

    Job Purpose:

    • Reporting to Head of Chemical and Effluent Plant, the successful incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the optimum daily operational performance of the effluent plant and its operating staff.

    Qualifications & Expertise

    • BSc Chemical Engineering Degree
    • B Tech Pulp & Paper would be advantageous

    Job Experience

    •  3 - 5 years’ experience in a Chemical heavy industry environment
    •  Experience in a supervisory and line management will be advantageous
    • Production/Chemical Processing, Effluent treatment or water treatment plant or   environmental compliance experience will also be advantageous
    •  Leadership or supervisory experience will be essential

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Ensure the compliance with all occupational health, safety, environmental and effluent quality standards.
    • Ensure the effective management of Risk, Safety and Quality through risk assessments, implementation and management of behavioural based safety, task analysis and effluent quality management to ensure a zero tolerance for unsafe acts and acceptable levels of safety incidents.
    • Ensure stable and maximum operational performance of the effluent treatment plant.
    • Drive effluent compliance and drain losses at source liasing with different BU personnel to drive compliance and improvement.
    • Ensure Effluent Plant capacity building and skills through coaching and mentoring.
    • Manage the Effluent plant area with emphasis on people, environmental compliance at source, cost, plant efficiency and availability.
    • Ensure effective financial management of the Business Unit by financial control, financial compliance and risk management, to ensure quality outputs are delivered within budget.
    • Ensure that solid internal and external customer/supplier relations are built, maintained and managed to ensure timely delivery from supplier, and customer satisfaction.
    • Develop, implement and manage annual effluent plant production operational plans and project plans that are aligned with the strategic objectives of the organization.
    • Develop, implement and manage continuous improvement projects as well as process improvement and optimisation initiatives to ensure quality outputs.
    • Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual Business Unit reporting which includes progress on stakeholder relations, business and strategic planning.
    • Build and maintain a competent and motivated workforce by managing performance, conflict and development within the Business Unit.
    • Develop BU solid manning plan, personnel development and assessment.
    • Accurate reporting.

    Engineer in Training - (50199577.1)

    Education: 

    • BSc/ BEng in Mechanical, Electrical or  Chemical Engineering
    • Applicants must have completed the degree in a maximum period allowed of 5 years and achieved  an aggregate of 60% or above. 

    Job Experience:

    • Practical industrial exposure (vacation work) will be advantageous.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Demonstrate practical knowledge and competence, combining theory & practice, to discharge, in full, the responsibilities of an engineer.
    • Work closely with mentors to achieve agreed engineering objectives, so as to cover the training required to be eligible to write the Government  Certificate of Competency as per the OHS Act.
    • Complete training on manufacturing techniques, basic maintenance, as well as plant commissioning and engineering practices.
