    Apprentice: Level Year 1 | Motus Daimler Trucks Rustenburg

    Job Description

    • Motus Daimler Trucks Rustenburg currently holds vacancy for an Apprentice: Level Year 1.
    • Reporting to the Service Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to repair Trucks and Buses according to dealer/distributor's standards and specifications in the most productive way.

    Job Description:

    • Carry out fault diagnosis to aid and speed vehicle servicing.
    • Ensure diagnostic equipment is used in vehicle examinations.
    • Ensure DCSA procedures and policies are carried out during repairs and printouts kept.
    • Ensure faults are accurately diagnosed to customers’ satisfaction.
    • Discuss matter with Service Advisors as required and provide lucid explanations.
    • Co-Operate in vehicle care and safety whilst dealing with vehicles.
    • Ensure that comebacks are limited to minimum.
    • Attend to breakdown calls as and when required.
    • Ensure vehicles are returned to customer after service in neat, clean condition.
    • All parts to be signed for at parts department and used on relevant vehicle.
    • Unused parts to be returned to parts department.
    • Ensure diagnosis leads to most cost-effective and accurate remedy to fault or customer complaint.
    • Give advice or use techniques which ensure quality but safe time.
    • Provide a fault finding and systems diagnostic service on motor vehicles to aid and speed the work of mechanics.
    • Complete forms and documentation included in the company’s service routine.
    • Draft and prepare any reports required.
    • Make suggestions and give advice regarding any special promotional campaign and take part in campaign.
    • Ensure that overalls and work area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
    • Job Cards to be complete in full handed to service advisor as soon as vehicle is repaired and repair clocking carried out correctly.
    • Attend training courses provided by Daimler and Cargo Motors.
    • Assist with other reasonable requested duties as and when required.

    Specific Role Responsibilities:

    • To provide a technical and diagnostic service within the service department.
    • To utilize modern diagnostic equipment to maximum in effecting vehicle service and to interpret findings.
    • To discuss service detail with customer as required.
    • To accomplish servicing of electric equipment as required.

     KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Grade 12 – Maths and Physical Science

    Job Description

    Fourways Multifranchise (Renault & Honda Fourways) has an opportunity available for a Service Manager.

    • This position will be suited to an experienced person who has the ability to manage an organised and profitable service department; delivering high quality service and focused on customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for mentoring and leading all departmental staff, ensure that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
    • Ensure that the department achieves budget objectives by continual examination of operating controls

    • Monitor the effective use of labour by maintaining workshop productivity records

    Specific Role Responsibilities

    • Drive the achievement of productivity, efficiency and customer service level index goals and objectives.
    • Manage a profitable workshop against budget, including analyzing workshop performance data e.g. productivity of technical staff, labour rates, efficiency of workshop, expense monitoring and control etc.
    • Manage escalated workshop (technical) problems accordingly, including:
    • Escalation of technical/ product related issues to OEMs.
    • Ensuring continuous support and guidance to technical staff throughout technical problem-solving stages.
    • Ensuring future corrective action plans to address various technical problems are implemented.
    • Ensure accurate workshop capacity planning according to productive and available staff is done.
    • Control (WIP) work in progress on all vehicles in the workshop daily to maintain an acceptable level, and manage end-to-end throughput, maintaining awareness of the status of all vehicles.
    • Achieve industry leading standards of customer care, process efficiency and cost control.
    • Exceed all targets and labour sales objectives through efficient workshop operations management.
    • Ensure efficient equipment and asset control, and administration processes.
    • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, service level achievement, and customer retention.
    • Responsible for the annual budget of Service Department.
    • Manage risk (financial and non–financial) within department.
    • Ensure compliance with OEM and business policies and processes, as well as adherence to relevant workshop operating procedures and practices.
    • Maintain good housekeeping within department, including ensuring compliance to OEMs CI guidelines within the department.
    • Manage and improve environmental, health and safety standards.
    • Conduct departmental meetings and general aftersales meetings to ensure effective communication.
    • Manage training of all service staff.
    • Lead, manage, attract, retain, appraise and develop staff.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience needed:

    • Must have a minimum of Grade 12
    • Managerial experience in a Service Department essential
    • Preference will be given to candidate with Service Technician Qualification
    • Must have Honda/Mitsubishi/Renault training experience
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Must have a clear Criminal Record
    • Must have Leadership and Time Management skills
    • 5+years’ Experience as a Service Manager

    Specialist Technician – Service | Motus Daimler Trucks Polokwane

    Job Description

    • Motus Daimler Trucks Polokwane currently has a vacancy for a Specialist Technician – Service, reporting to the Manager: Service.
    • The primary purpose of this position is to repair Trucks and Buses according to dealer/distributor's standards and specifications in the most productive way.
    • As a technician, you are, responsible for performing all kinds of service operations, defined assembly operations and maintenance repairs with the highest level of quality and efficiency.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Repair and servicing of vehicles according to dealer/distributor standards and within the flat rate
    • Establish parts required for service/repair to be performed and ensured correct parts are ordered            
    • Report to Service Foreman promptly on any additional work required                                    
    • Obtain authorization prior to carrying out any additional work                                                 
    • Advise Management prior to fitting any major parts outside the norm for routine servicing/repair
    • Obtain technical information from Service Foreman on problem jobs                                     
    • Adhere strictly to technical specifications as laid down by manufacturer, or as instructed by Management
    • Adhere to laid down workshop policies and procedures                                                              
    • Note the description of all work performed on the back of Repair Order if required              
    • Place all used parts in plastic bag, except oil & fuel filters, and place on passenger floor     
    • All warranty replaced parts to be tagged according to laid down rules, and handed to Parts department       
    • Ensure all oils and parts used are booked out on Repair Order                                                  
    • Ensure vehicle is kept as clean as possible, and use all protective items supplied  
    • Ensure work bay is kept safe, clean and tidy                                                                                   
    • Ensure time started and completed are entered on Repair Order (Clocking)                         
    • Report any faulty and / or broken equipment is reported to management                            
    • Ensure all special tools and equipment are used with utmost care                                          
    • To possess a complete set of tools, as per distributor requirements, and maintain in good working order   
    • Ensure a neat appearance at all times - overalls to be changed after heavy repairs              
    • Maintain cordial relationship with workshop staff

    • Diesel Truck Technician Qualification
    • Three-year experience on Daimler Truck & Bus products a must (Mercedes-Benz Trucks or FUSO)
    • Clear Criminal Record
    • A Valid Driver’s License C1, EC
