    Internal Arbitrator Assessor

    As a specialist in their field this person acts as a subject matter expert in a specific field of knowledge that could be considered as semi-professional (i.e. Senior Trustee).
    The individual applies this knowledge in an operational environment and usually also has production standards to achieve (i.e. X amount of cases).
    In addition to production standards this person also plays a role in the upskilling of other more junior staff in the same field and also acts as a point of escalation for difficult cases (complex cases are usually referred to this individual (i.e. cases that could have the potential of causing brand damage).

    • The incumbent in this role will also be required to compile statistics and develop reports that can be used for management decision-making.
    • This role includes contact with external parties such as clients / industry bodies etc.
    • As part of their daily function they will get involved in the resolution of complaints, enquiries and disputes.
    • Although they may be required to act as an expert resource on major projects, this is not the primary function of the role.

    Broker Training Consultant

    The purpose of this role is to deliver ongoing Training and Support to Brokers on OMI processes and requirements.

    Role Description:

    • This role functions as a subject matter expert in Broker Training
    • Often acts as a point of escalation for matters with higher level of complexity than those handled by Administration Specialists.
    • Often acts as a consultant w.r.t decision making of operational and or tactical importance (typically deliverables are part of level three plans).
    • Could act as an expert resource on major projects or could be accountable for the delivery of projects within the division or BU.
    • May act as a coach for Specialist staff.
    • Often consulted for system enhancements.
    • Could be accountable for major administration processes and the project management thereof (usually with an extended timeline in excess of a month).
    • On-board and train brokers on OMI forms, processes, regulatory requirements, systems and tools.
    • Delivers content and presentations for in a professional manner
    • Delivers the relevant training outcomes as identified and prioritised by the Broker Training Team leader

    • Advises on system enhancements and testing.

    Tax Accountant

    This role prepares monthly reports on all tax aspects and is responsible for the calculation and payment of taxes as well as submission of all tax returns in a business unit. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.

    Key responsibilities will include amongst others the following:

    • Calculates and pays taxes.
    • Reviews and approves tax payments.
    • Prepares monthly reports on all tax aspects.
    • Responsible for the completion and submission of all tax returns.
    • Prepares tax budgets and forecasts for the business unit.
    • Controls the production and distribution of IRP5 certificates and annual SITE and PAYE returns to the tax authorities.
    • Replies to or provides input to tax queries received from SARS, and applications to SARS for PAYE / VAT rulings, with support from the tax consultant.
    • Determines correct accounting procedures for aspects of the company's flexible remuneration package relating to taxation.
    • Keeps abreast of all tax legislation and changes and remuneration policies and practices. .
    • Interprets the VAT Act, PAYE and Case Law.
    • Provides advice and guidance on minimising PAYE / VAT liabilities.
    • Implements the strategy to minimise tax risk for the organisation.
    • Monitors PAYE / VAT compliance within business units on a monthly basis and reviews all statutory PAYE / VAT returns.
    • Assists with the development and implementation of corporate policy on PAYE / VAT issues and processes.
    • Responsible for the production of accounting and taxation schedules.
    • Performs data integrity checks on client tax data.
    • Ensures tax allocations are completed and certificates are produced when required.
    • Produces automated tax returns.
    • Ensures tax certificates are issued.
    • Reviews and manages tax accounting processes.
    • Accountable for reviews of VAT reconciliations, returns, compliance documents and replies to VAT queries from SARS.
    • Assists in development and implementation of tax systems planning opportunities for the organisation and ensures that all requirements e.g. data flows/reporting are met.
    • Assists in developing tax planning opportunities.
    • Prepares objections/ADRs.
    • Analyses transactions and new products form a tax point of view.
    • Advises on tax aspects of transactions and projects undertaken by the organisation.

    Qualification, Skill and Experience:

    • Recently qualified CA/ HDip Tax Law or Tax Honours
    • 1-3 years tax consulting experience advantageous
