    Global Lead Retail Operations

    • Ensure that the customer is at the heart of everything that the Retail Teams do across the globe whilst operating safely, legally and sustainably.
    • Provide Retail leadership and be the centre of expertise to the Regional and Country teams.
    • Setting the global Retail Strategic direction, working with the Global Transformation Office, Regional and Country teams to ensure the transformation agenda is being delivered on time and on budget.
    • Setting and monitoring the global retail standards, processes, procedures and working practices across the globe to ensure that Puma Energy is operating at best in class within the markets that it trades whilst optimizing performance.
    • Role model the Puma Energy core values and ways of working.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

    • Together with the Global Lead – Convenience Retail, develop and lead the execution of the 5 year Retail Strategy for fuel and non-fuel customer, product and service propositions with the Regional and Country teams.
    • Create conditions with associated HSE and Legal policies and procedures to enable Regions and Countries to sell and operate both safely and legally at all times.
    • Ensure that Regions and Countries have the right fuel and non-fuel Retail talent and capability in place to deliver the 5-year plans, assisting in the interviewing, selection, on boarding, training and development processes, when appropriate. Ensure that Regional and Country teams have a fuel and non-fuel Retail succession plan in place.
    • Work with Regions and Country teams building relationship models and systems and with Dealers and Station Managers to develop mutually beneficial business plans in order to sustain the profitable future of the site.
    • Lead the global Retail Centre of Expertise and be the point of contact for all technical advice relating to Retail issues.
    • Ensure that Regions, Countries and Dealers have the right non-fuel Retail talent and capability in place to deliver the 5-year plans. Assist in the training and development processes and delivery, where appropriate.
    • Develop the global methodology, processes and procedures for the Retail activity. Eg: Fuel, Non-fuel, Loyalty and Card programs.
    • Support the CCO and Head of Regions in the delivery of the Retail P & L accounts, ensuring the Regions and Countries are set up to achieve the budgeted financial performance and KPI’s.
    • To ensure that Puma Energy maintains competitive advantage by making sure that that Regions and Countries have an up to date understanding of Retail best practices, competitor initiatives and activities.
    • Ensure Regional and Country compliance with Global standards and exceptional implementation at all times. Influence new Global standards when gaps and new requirements are identified.
    • Work with procurement, construction and maintenance leaders to lower the cost of managing, operating and developing the Retail business to ensure that shareholders can afford to re-invest and that customers can afford to continue to buy from Puma.
    • Work with the PUMA Energy IT leadership team to ensure that Retail systems and technologies are up to date and fit for purpose.
    • Work with the PUMA Energy marketing team to implement the Retail Brand positioning and ensure that marketing plans are fit for purpose and deliver a return on investment. Agree with the Regions and Countries the activation plans for consumer driven messaging around fuels quality and fuel features and benefits.
    • Accountable for station layout and design principles and station Visual Identity.

    Key Relationships And Department Overview

    • Internal – CCO, Transformation Office, Global Head of HSE and Operations, Global Lead Retail Convenience, Heads of Region, General Managers, Regional Retail Teams, Country Management Teams, Global Functional Teams.
    • External – Dealers (through Regional and Country Management) Industry Forums, represent Puma as required in any external forum in respect of Retail Innovation and Global Best Practice, Merchandise and Non-merchandise suppliers.

    Global Network Optimization Manager Retail Operations

    • Develop the global methodology, processes and procedures for ‘the one best way’ of approaching, developing and executing a 5-year Network Plan.Ensure that a one standard approach for all capital evaluation and discounted cash flow analysis is applied and adhered to in every Region and Country.Attend the various Investment Committees as and when appropriate.
    • Ensure that Regions and Countries have the appropriate technical tools and systems to develop country specific retail network plans.
    • Ensure within Regions and Countries, that from site identification, demographic analysis, capital evaluation, sign off, construction opening/divesting and managing the post implementation reviews are owned by the relevant Network Planning lead. Ensure all post implementation reviews track and mitigate the commercial and financial KPI’s that were signed off in the original proposal.
    • Lead the global Retail Centre of Expertise and be the contact for all technical advice relating to Network Planning and Property Management issues. Provide the global work standards for Puma Energy Network Planning and Property Management.
    • Ensure that Regions and Countries have the right network planning and property management talent and capability in place to deliver their individual 5-year plans, assisting in the interviewing, selection, on boarding, training and development processes. Ensure that Regional and Country teams have a Network Planning and a Property Management succession plan in place.
    • To ensure that Puma Energy maintains competitive advantage by ensuring that that Regions and the Countries have an update understanding of competitor initiatives and activities within the Network Planning arena.


    Advantageous Education

    • Engineering qualification.

    Experience

    • At least 6 years working experience in network planning, within a fuel industry is a distinct advantage.
    • At least 3 years management experience.
    • Experience and understanding of Property Management (Landlord and Tennant experience).

    Skills

    • English language.
    • High level of commercial and financial acumen.
    • High level of proficiency with MS Office.
