    Finance Intern X02

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grade 12

    • A three – year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with majors in Accounting, Economics or Finance including either Risk Management , Auditing or Equivalent.
    • The intern will sign an internship agreement which is in addition to the employment contract.
    • The effect of the agreement is to ensure commitment to the programme which require, amongst other, full participation in the educational and workplace assignments and observance of policies and procedures.
    • The candidate must be between the ages of 21 and 35.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • The MFMIP is a structure professional training and work experience programme with the goal of providing high quality training and practical exposure in all aspects of a Municipal Budget and Treasury Office which is governed by the Municipal Finance Management Act, Act 56 of 2003 and the underlying reforms.
    • The programme has a logical training sequence that builds on the skills and competencies acquired during University training.
    • It ends where appropriate, with the credits or a qualification in Municipal Finance Management in line with the Municipal Minimum Competency Regulations, Gazette 29967 of June 2007.

    PMU: Manager

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12
    • Bachelor Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering
    • A relevant minimum 3 years working experience in project management preferable in Local Government is required.
    • Certificate of Labour Intensive Construction Methods NQF 5/7.
    • Registered with ECSA as a candidate or Professional Engineering Technician or Technologist.
    • Valid Driver’s Licence
    • Knowledge of MIG and Municipal Infrastructure System.
    • Auto CAD or any other design programme will be an added advantage.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Responsible in managing and co-ordinating the PMU, advises the Council on how best to
    • implement infrastructure projects.
    • Ensure that projects are completed as per the requirements of the municipality.
    • Manages the formulation of specific contracts and tender documents and controls contractual obligations in respect of relevant areas.
    • Responsible for the safety related duties and the application of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
    • Knowledge of government policies on service delivery, poverty alleviation, eradication and job creation.
    • Managing of grant funded projects
    • Registering projects on MIG and MIS
    • Reporting on MIG & MIS
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the
    • Director Technical Services.

    Road Technician

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grade 12

    • Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
    • A relevant minimum 3 years working experience in design, construction, maintenance of road infrastructure and civil engineering is required.
    • Valid Driver’s Licence

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Conduct inspections and maintenance of municipal roads.
    • Supervise road construction projects and ensure compliance safety standards.
    • Prepare reports and documentation related to road conditions and projects.
    • Collaborate with contractors to ensure timely project completion.
    • Meeting deadlines and working under pressure.
    • Be able to perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

    Town Planner

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 Certificate
    • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Town or Regional Planning.
    • A relevant minimum 3 years’ experience in Town or Regional Planning field.
    • Valid Driver’s Licence

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Assist in developing and reviewing Spatial
    • Development Framework, Local Area Plans,
    • Precinct Plans, Land Use Scheme and the By – Laws.
    • Administer and Assess development applications ( Township Establishment, Rezoning, Sub – division, Consolidation and Consent Use and
    • Departure) and making recommendations to Authorised Official and Municipal Planning Tribunal.
    • Develop and maintain Land Use Management systems.
    • Operate and update the municipal GIS and ensuring that all stakeholders are provided with updated spatial information.
    • Conduct research on town planning matters to help improve operational efficiencies in the department.
    • Preparing proposals encompassing drawings, designs and cost estimates.
    • Providing information to municipal departments, real estate developers, property owners and other related parties pertaining to land use applications, ordinances, regulations and related planning issues.
    • Ensuring effective and efficient Land Administration
    • Systems (Leasing, Acquisition and Disposal)

    Examiner For Driving Licences Grade A & B X02

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grade 12

    • Grade A or B Examiner’s Diploma for Driving Licences
    • Registration as an Examiner for Driving Licences
    • Grade A or B
    • A relevant minimum 2 years’ experience in DLTC.
    • Knowledge of National Road Traffic Act and other legislations.
    • Valid A and EC Driver’s Licence with PrDp
    • No criminal record

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Evaluate applicants for Learner’s/ Driving License tests as required by the National Road Traffic Act 93/1998.
    • To supervise and control learners and driver’s licence examiners.
    • To ensure and control issuing of relevant documents.
    • Must be able to prepare relevant reports within the section and give feedback to the Superintendent.
    • Assess applicant’s eyes with the prescribed eye testing equipment to ensure they comply with legislation.
    • Evaluates the competency of Municipal drivers to drive a Municipal vehicle
