    Business Development Executive

    What will you do?

    Responsible for promoting new and maintaining existing business by serving as a proactive relationship manager for assigned accounts. Coordinates marketing, sales and support services for assigned accounts to enhance existing relationships and develop new ones. Responds to inquiries and resolves problems of a complex nature. Establishes and/or develops relationships with firms to secure a preferred or a select sponsor position with that firm. Develops and implements annual business plan to promote and maintain business. Good interpersonal skills are essential for the success of the position.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Responds to inquiries and resolves problems of a complex nature.

    • Have / maintain relationships with key individuals in Sanlam Corporate that will assist in the sales process.
    • Develops and implements annual business plan to promote and maintain business.
    • Good interpersonal skills are essential for the success of the position.
    • Have / maintain an in-depth knowledge of products / product houses within Sanlam Corporate and develop / maintain a thorough understanding of products / services within the Sanlam Group.
    • Have / maintain an in-depth knowledge of competitors in the market.
    • Have / maintain a thorough understanding of applicable legislation affecting Sanlam Corporate products and services.
    • Have the ability to manage sales targets and achieve those targets over a reasonable period.
    • Develop interpersonal relationships within Client Solutions to ensure sound team dynamics.

    Qualification & Experience

    • Relevant tertiary financial/investment qualification
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the Employee Benefits industry
    • Experience gained in a similar role with another SA Financial Services player - including unit trust, asset management or Lisp industry.

    Knowledge And Skills

    • Knowledge of legislation applicable to the retirement fund industry
    • Previous retirement fund experience will be advantageous
    • Certificate of Proficiency will be advantageous
    • Technical advice and support
    • Production target achievement and budgeting
    • Compliance and risk management
    • Client relationship management
    • Strategic business plan development and implementation

    Sales Consultant : Polokwane (PG 9/10)

    What will you do?
    The ideal candidate will be responsible for marketing Sanlam's solutions to a vested portfolio of advisers, devising strategies and campaigns to grow the advisers business thereby assisting in meeting the required sales targets.

    • Support Financial Advisers in:
    • Rendering ongoing technical advice and support
    • Partnering with Financial Advisers to reach production targets
    • Sourcing for business opportunites in advisers practice
    • Managing and support Leads and campaigns
    • Assisting and liaising with New Business and underwriting to facilitate the issuing of business
    • Assisting with the processing of claims, replacements and quotations
    • Assisting with Comparative competitor quotes
    • With regards to Compliance ensure that:
    • The different tools are understood and utilised by the Financial Advisers
    • The Financial Adviser is aware of the importance of compliance and implications for the practices for noncompliance.
    • Monitor and flag any suspect or risky business with the Business Manager.
    • Support projects and focus activities of the Business Manager that seek to drive production.
    • Networking with other stakeholders in the sales/support process.

    Qualification And Experience

    • RFP1, 2 or 3 alternately Wealth Management 1,2 or 3
    • An industry related qualification would be advantageous
    • Regulatory Exam would be advantageous
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Marketing and sales environment
    • Thorough understanding of agency distribution model and supporting processing requirements would be advantageous

    Knowledge And Skills

    • MS: Office (Excel, Word, PP); Outlook; SanFin; AUTONUB
    • Valid driver's licence
    • Own reliable motor vehicle
    • Business Management
    • Financial Services Industry Knowledge
    • Financial Services Product Knowledge (Sanlam and competitors)
    • Relevant regulatory legislation and compliance knowledge
    • Basic legal technical knowledge
    • Marketing principles
    • Sales process and steps
    • Training/coaching others
    • Solid administration skills
