Mission of Function

• Acquires and learns practical knowledge and working experience in different technical fields of expertise, in the course of an academic education.

Dimensions of Function

• Requirement gathering and modelling in order to develop solutions using Siemens’ portfolio of products.
• Software Development using C#.Net.
• Work closely with Engineers to design and build UI features for web-based and mobile devices.
• Responsible for the visual appeal, messaging and user interaction of the solution and understanding how the user interface supports the solution’s overall business objectives.
• Software Test Procedures, Testing and site installation.
• Post installation and commissioning support.

Areas Of Responsibilities / Tasks

• Technical Solution Design – must be able to translate software requirements into a detailed technical solution design based on C#.Net and Siemens Products.
• Software Architecture – design and develop software standards and thereafter compile them in a Architectural design
• Software Standards – Javascripting; C# and C++
• Back End Development – able to develop software using C#.Net and Microsoft SQL and other database knowledge.
• Software Testing – need to have a good understanding of software testing methodologies to do both functional and non-functional testing. Must be able to develop test procedures for doing Unit Testing, Integration Testing,

System Testing, Performance Testing, etc.

• Post installation support – post installation support on the solution will be required for a period after commissioning.

Required Competencies

• Qualifications: B.Sc Computer Science
• Comfortable with HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Development knowledge with REST/WCF/SQL, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Good understanding of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as Angular.
• Excellent understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
• Experience with software version control systems (Git, Subversion, Microsoft Team Foundation)

Plans and executes sales targets and activities in a specified region for the portfolio of a unit in order to increase sales with all kinds of potential customers and to achieve defined commercial targets.

Key Elements of the role

• Plans sales volumes and potentials of all customers in the complete portfolio of Smart Infrastructure Products (High/ Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear, Transformers, Digital Grid, Service Range of Products) for the Gauteng Region
• Provides information via CRM for forecasts and planning.
• Analyzes the specific market conditions and builds a sound market related network of stakeholders.
• Spots opportunities for local product and service portfolio solutions.
• Prepares customer contact, builds and maintains a customer focused network.
• Prepares / coordinates and negotiates proposals in cooperation with proposal management / other involved professionals and management.
• Coordinates the realization of assignments, may coordinate, and contribute to set up respective product developments, projects or services programs.
• Completes sales and revenue related key reporting.
• Contributes to the development of After-Market business in the region.
• May act as a point of contact to customers in commercial matters and influences collaboration within the organization to secure customer support.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Completed National Diploma/Degree: Electrical Engineering
• 5 – 8 years year’s relevant sales experience within the Smart Infrastructure portfolio/s (High/ Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear, Transformers, Digital Grid, Service Range of Products)
• Must have experience in a Technical environment in the Electrical and/or Control (Automation)
• Must have experience in Sales and/or project and/or consulting
• Must be willing to travel extensively

• Configure and develop MOM solutions using Siemens’ Digital portfolio of products.
• Software Development using C#.Net.
• Work closely with MES Engineers to design and build UI features for web-based and mobile devices.
• Responsible for the visual appeal, messaging and user interaction of the MOM / MES solution and understanding how the user interface supports the solution’s overall business objectives.
• Software Test Procedures, Testing and site installation.
• Post installation and commissioning support.

Reporting

• Report directly to Engineering – Digital Solutions Lead and Project Manager.

Areas Of Responsibilities / Tasks

• Technical Solution Design – must be able to translate software requirements into a detailed technical solution design based on C#.Net and Siemens Products.
• Software Standards – need to understand the different components of a MOM / MES solution and be able to develop within the standards set by the team.
• Back End Development – able to develop software using C#.Net and Microsoft SQL.
• Front End Development – able to develop HTML5 and AngularJS single page front end applications to support backend services developed in C#.Net and Microsoft SQL.
• Software Testing – need to have a good understanding of software testing methodologies to do both functional and non-functional testing. Must be able to develop test procedures for doing Unit Testing, Integration Testing,

System Testing, Performance Testing, etc.

• Post installation support – post installation support on the solution will be required for a period after commissioning.

Required Competencies

• Qualifications: B.Sc Computer Science, B.Eng must include computer science subjects, B.Sc (Eng) Mining Engineering must include computer science subjects.
• Development knowledge on C#.Net and SQL Server Databases, using SOA framework.
• Development knowledge with Angular/Angular2, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Good understanding of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as Angular.
• Excellent understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
