    Marketing Specialist

    What will you be doing?

    • The role will be responsible for the profitable marketing of all Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics Reconstruction and Clinical Therapies products and the attainment of short-term agreed sales and profit targets, as well as devising and implementing marketing strategies that will ensure the short, medium and long-term profitability of the products within the portfolio.

    What will you need to be successful?

    • Establish and nurture the relationship between Key Contacts and Smith & Nephew and commercialise these relationships.
    • Experience in establishing ongoing educational programmes on the Orthopaedic Reconstruction product portfolio and co-ordinating the programmes through academic and non-academic outlets throughout the country.
    • Experience in the formulation and implementation of short-, medium- and long-term strategic plans for brands
    • The ability to keep abreast of local and international developments and trends in the marketplace.
    • Experience in compiling, presenting, and managing annual sales budgets.
    • Good customer relations and providing support to the sales force.
    • Developing and executing strategic marketing plans, including positioning, pricing, promotion, and new market opportunities
    • Drive product education through structured educational programmes, congresses, and workshops
    • Create and managing promotional and educational tools for sales teams and customers
    • Manage relationships with key opinion leaders and strategic customers nationally
    • Control marketing budgets including A&P, Capex, and related costs
    • Collaborate with Demand Planning and Inventory teams to ensure optimal stock availability
    • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and identifying growth opportunities
    • Support the Sales Force through training, technical support, and joint customer engagement
    • Manage advertising, PR, and agency partners

    Successful candidates would need the following:

    • Matric Qualification and a bachelor’s degree in healthcare or health sciences and marketing.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a medical supply company, as a Group Product Manager level or equivalent.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • A solid understanding of compliance, quality, regulatory, and GMDP requirements

    Logistics Planner

    What will you be doing?

    • The role forms part of the Supply Chain Division and is responsible in the planning of inbound inventory to the local warehouse as well as the 3PL warehouse. This role is entitled to manage the inbound logistics activities until stock is available for sales.
    • Be responsible for administering the long-term successful relationship between third party logistics partners while ensuring continuous operational improvements through teamwork and the use of data driven key performance metrics. This position will also be the liaison responsible for ensuring that timely, accurate and clear communications occur between both parties electronically, in-writing and verbally.
    • The Logistics Planner is responsible for collaborating with the finance team by performing analysis and closure on cash flow queries, goods in transit and managing/administrating the inbound freight transporters activities.

    What will you need to be successful?

    • To manage shipments from supplier to warehouse OTIF
    • To manage all customs processes to ensure timely delivery of inventory
    • To manage freight forwarder costs (Standing time, Delivery costs etc.)
    • To ensure all international vendor invoices are processed and paid in a timely manner
    • To contribute to the goods in transit accuracy and reporting.
    • To Evaluate and lead automation and system improvements across all channels of the Logistics function.
    • To manage and collaborate with Finance team regarding Local and international creditors.

    Successful candidates would need the following:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain/Logistics
    • B-Com degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or any other related field.
    • Knowledge of ERP, or other advanced planning tools is a plus.
    • Good facilitation skills with the ability to operate effectively and foster collaboration and communication across diverse global and cross-functional teams
    • Able to solve complex problems, applying expertise in business intelligence and data solutions to drive best practices/operational improvements and innovative solutions
    • Strong interpersonal skills essential to effectively interact and earn credibility with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting Set forecasting and deployment throughout the network
    • An energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic, capable of thriving in a fast paced and complex environment
    • Must have a very good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint)
