    Fitter

    • Operate, maintain, repair and optimise plant and associated equipment to ensure plant availability, cost, safety and product quality.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:
    Operational Support

    • Provide specialist mechanical support to shift-based production and operations teams to ensure reliable plant performance.
    • Assist with fault finding and problem-solving activities, acting as a technical resource when complex mechanical issues arise.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives through practical mechanical input and equipment optimisation.

    Breakdown & Running Repairs

    • Carry out mechanical repairs on production and plant equipment during operations to minimise downtime.
    • Respond promptly to equipment failures, ensuring safe isolation, repair, and return to service.
    • Perform repairs to a high standard, focusing on durability, reliability, and long-term performance.

    Planned & Preventative Maintenance

    • Participate in maintenance planning and scheduling meetings, contributing technical insight and improvement suggestions.
    • Execute planned, preventative, and predictive mechanical maintenance tasks in line with maintenance strategies.
    • Assist in developing, updating, and improving maintenance routines to enhance equipment reliability and lifespan.

    Equipment Performance & OEE

    • Ensure mechanical maintenance activities support maximum equipment availability and operational efficiency.
    • Contribute to achieving OEE targets through proactive maintenance and effective breakdown prevention.
    • Identify recurring mechanical failures and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

    Housekeeping, Safety & Compliance

    • Operate in a safe manner at all times in accordance with safety, health, and environmental requirements.
    • Identify unsafe conditions or practices and take corrective action or escalate concerns where required.
    • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within work areas, ensuring tools, spares, and equipment are properly managed.

    Reporting & Administration

    • Complete maintenance reports, job cards, and fault logs accurately and timeously.
    • Provide clear feedback to engineering and production teams regarding equipment condition, repairs, and improvement opportunities.
    • Support maintenance record keeping enabling effective planning and performance analysis.

    Special Requirements

    • Physically capable of performing hands-on mechanical work in an industrial plant environment.
    • Willing and able to work shifts, standby, callouts, and overtime as operationally required.

    Core Competencies

    • Mechanical maintenance systems and procedures
    • Adherence to engineering and maintenance standards
    • Qualified and trade-tested Fitter
    • Knowledge of high-speed manufacturing and packaging machinery

    • Solid understanding of production machinery and mechanical equipment

    • Competence in fault diagnosis, component fitting, alignment, and mechanical assembly

    WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:

    Experience & Qualifications

    • NTC 3 with Mathematics and Science
    • Trade Tested Fitter
    • Approximately 5 years functional experience in mechanical fitting
    • Approximately 1 year experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

    Electrician

    • Provide specialist electrical support to production and shift-based teams to ensure optimal plant performance.

    • Support cross-functional teams with electrical expertise to resolve complex operational challenges.

    • Perform effective electrical fault diagnosis and repairs on plant and auxiliary equipment during operations.
    • Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and restore equipment to safe operational condition.
    • Ensure repairs are completed to a high standard, focusing on reliability and long-term sustainability.

    Technical Competencies

    • Exposure to PLC systems (Siemens S7 preferred)
    • Experience with AC drives, motor control, and sequential control systems
    • Strong troubleshooting capability across electrical, instrumentation, and pneumatic systems
    • Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and drawings

    Workplace Experience Student: Sales & Distribution

    Manufacturing Excellence Manager

    • The main purpose of the role is to lead the implement Manufacturing Excellence Customs & Practices {MECP} as defined by MECP CoE in the designated plant/site. The role influences the site leadership and partners with them to drive the MECP methodology. The role is also custodian of the MECP methodology and MECP change management at  site level.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

    • Develop, maintain, and execute the multi‑year site MECP roadmap aligned to business priorities and manufacturing strategy.
    • Lead MECP pillar maturity assessments and support pillars with the development of improvement plans.
    • Mentor pillar teams (Teamwork, Focused Improvement, 5S, etc.) to ensure methodological rigour.
    • Contributes to the group MECP community of best practice (audits, training, benchmarking etc)
    • Lead and track the site’s annual productivity targets, including cost savings, efficiency gains, waste reduction, and OEE improvement.
    • Use data-driven insights to identify loss hotspots and improvement opportunities.
    • Guide teams to use data analytics, statistical methods, capability studies, and digital tools to solve chronic losses.
    • Identify opportunities for automation, digitisation, and Industry 4.0 solutions that enhance operational performance.
    • Generate all prescribed MECP management reports required by all levels of the organisation
    • Benchmark industry best practices internally and externally, identifying opportunities for future improvements.
    • Facilitate monthly MECP governance forums, steering committees, and progress reviews.
    • Develop MECP talent pipeline, mentorship programs, and operator skill-matrices.

    Key Attributes and Competencies
