    Financial Intern

    QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

    • NQF level 7 (BCom/BTech) in Accounting/Financial Management/Cost and Management Accounting and at least Auditing/Internal Auditing III

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist to compile and review monthly cash focus of the municipality Assist to update asset register Assist to compile monthly bank reconciliation Assist to compile monthly and quarterly financial reports as required by division of Revenue Act and MFMA for submission to Provincial/National Treasury, Department of Local Government and Housing Assist with compiling of budget and any other duties in the Budget and Treasury Offices
    • Assist with the reconciliation in all sections of the Financial Directorate Assist the division that handles council’s insurance portfolio Assist in ensuring that the asset register balances with council’s financial statements Assist in ensuring new assets are marked/bar coded Assist in verifying physical count of assets and record the results according to council’s policy Other financial functions as instructed by the CFO or his delegate

    Superintendent (Bulk Storage)

    QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

    • National Diploma in Civil Engineering Minimum of three (3) years working experience Municipal experience will serve as an advantage

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure implementation of WCWDM programme Conduct water audit and monitor municipal water balance
    • Supervise installation and maintenance of water meters Ensure implementation and enforcement of water bylaws and water restrictions Advise Finance on water consumption/ billing disputes Ensure compliance to Department of Water and Sanitation No Drop programme requirements

    Superintendent (WWTW)

    QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

    • National Diploma in Water Care or Chemical Engineering  A valid Code B drivers license 3-5 years experience in Waste water services

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure safe working conditions and safety procedures are followed Ensure that the final effluent quality complies with regulatory minimum standard General personnel administration and supervise Ensure that the waste water purification is always performing at maximum capacity Oversee daily operational readings and analysis are captured on logbooks
    • Ensure good house-keeping at all workstations Supervise compliance with all relevant aspect of the OHS act and will be appointed in terms of section 16(2) of the OHS act Supervise the optimum use of infrastructure in terms of Manpower, material, tools and equipment Ensure that the waste water purification plant production is always performing at maximum capacity
    • Liaise with other sections for support services (scientific, mechanical, electrical, waste department, etc) Source quotations and services from external service providers Inspection of sewer main lines to check for blockages and report to the sewer network team Submitting of all required records & reports to Assistant Manager Coordination of overtime forms and shift allowance and management of shift rooster Mitigation of risks as outlined on the Waste Water Risk Abatement Plan Ensuring compliance of the GDS requirements Compile monthly operational reports Perform any work related as instructed by the Supervisor
