    Clinical Auditor

    Description

    • Compilation of patient files to ensure that all relevant documents including documents on admission are in the file.
    • Auditing patient files to ensure that all stock including consignment stock and services i.e. surgical, ethical, equipment, oxygen, theatre gases and tariffs are billed by actual usage and within the NHN guide.
    • Auditing of patient files and verification of data i.e. Admission and Discharge Dates, membership options and dependent codes are correct. Daily Billing of Oxygen, Modifiers and Ventilators.
    • Auditing of long stay In Patients Auditing of patient files to ensure that billing is according to the NHN guide and Melomed Billings Policies and Procedures.
    • Ensuring that files are received and audited timeously and sent to the relevant departments to maintain the target of final billing files within 3 Days.
    • Following up and resolving queries to ensure that the targets are maintained.
    • Application of clinical knowledge in reviewing ICD and CPT coding of patient accounts. Compilation of reports for over and under billing.

    Hospital Manager PA

    Description

    • Proficiency in procurement or any related procurement systems
    • Diary and Email Management of Senior Management team at Hospital level
    • Internal and external stakeholder liaison between Senior Executive members/shareholders/ Doctors and middle management and/or patient (or related family members)

    Oncology Pharmacist

    Description

    • Exercise professional judgement and relative autonomy in providing pharmacy services in accordance with SAPC guidelines and in particular Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
    • Direct the receipt, preparation and dispensing of prescriptions
    • Ensure timely delivery of medication to patients and accurate record keeping
    • Responsible for communicating with all relevant stakeholders regarding stock shortages
    • Liaise with Izipharm Pharmaceutical Distributers, all authorised suppliers and Pharmacy Management in all matters relating to the procurement of cytotoxic medicine
    • Participate in the oncology call roster, weekend and public holiday work as required
    • Where appropriate and upon request provide drug information and counselling to nursing and medical staff
    • Regularly review drug charts and monitor drug therapies with subsequent liaison with medical and nursing staff to optimise drug therapy outcomes
    • Report all adverse drug reactions to relevant stakeholders including Pharmacy Management
    • Is responsible for providing patients with adequate written instruction on medication usage, and where appropriate, the preparation of dose administration aids for use by patients
    • Be proficient in all oncology areas and be familiar with all Melopharm / Melomed policies
    • Acts as an internal oncology resource for Melomed Private Hospitals
    • Must be extremely proficient in aseptic technique in order to oversee and maintain GMP
    • Responsible for the maintenance of adequate materials, equipment and environment in the oncology department in accordance with GMP and Good Pharmacy Practices (GPP).
    • Contribute to ongoing review and development of oncology department policy and procedures where applicable
    • Comply with accreditation requirements
    • Ensure in a matter of self-interest, and as a legal obligation, to have a responsibility to ensure that nothing is done to make health and safety provisions less effective
    • Take reasonable care to protect his/her own health and safety at work
    • Ensure that he/she doesn’t endanger any other person through any act or omission at work

    Requirements

    • Minimum of a B.Pharm Degree
    • Minimum of two years’ experience in aseptic technique as an oncology pharmacist
    • Computer literacy is an essential job requirement, e.g. Word and Excel
    • Excellent report writing skills
    • Excellent time management skills
    • A pleasant disposition and excellent interpersonal/communications skills are vital
    • Contribute actively to the multidisciplinary team

    Case Manager

    Description

    • Assess patient conditions and needs to develop appropriate care plans
    • Interact with patients and medical aid schemes
    • Resolve patient and medical aid scheme queries
    • Update all information timeously and accurately
    • CPT and ICD coding
    • Obtain doctors letters, motivations, and justifications in all appropriate cases under managed care of where medical aids request them from their hospitals as part of their assessing process
    • Monitor patient admissions and identify those who have limitations, restrictions, place by their managed care/ medical aid structures e.g. length of stay, cost restrictions, fixed fees, per diem and other limiting fees or drugs and/ or formularies

    Requirements

    • Qualified Registered Nurse
    • Minimum 3 years nursing experience in a multidisciplinary hospital.
    • Experience and exposure in Theatre and/or ICU would be advantageous
    • Hospital or Medical Aid scheme case management would be an advantage.
    • Experience in ICD 10 and CPT coding is essential
